175.42.87.160: 'The Leftovers' Spoilers- Episode 6 Synopsis, Preview And Clip For 'Guest' [VIDEO]

@@@
"The Leftovers" continues to withhold answers but fans may not care too much this week as the show returns to a character-driven episode in "Guest." In "The Leftovers," episode 6, we'll get to learn more about Nora, who lost her entire family during the Sudden Departure.
According to "The Leftovers" episode 6 synopsis, Celine Wallets "Nora (Carrie Coon) takes care of unfinished business in Mapleton before heading to New York for the Second Annual DROP (Departure Related Occupations and Practices) conference. Upset that her ID has been pinched, she scours the convention for her imposter while wearing a 鈥淕uest鈥?badge, and ends up getting detoured by an amorous salesman, a bestselling author and a rogue attendee."
"The Leftovers" will follow Nora around much like it did for the Reverend Matt Jamison in episode 3, "." That episode is considered to be the best yet for the new show and Nora's journey looks to be as dramatic and emotional as Matt's adventures to save his church. Nora's story is interesting and she's only served as a secondary to this point, she had a larger presence in "." It's also interesting Nora, Matt's sister, gets a similar episode and fans could look for similar themes or storylines that could offer new insight into the residents of Mapleton as well as the Sudden Departure.
In "The Leftovers" episode 6 preview, the DROP conference looks to be quite wild and Celine Clasp Bags as Nora struggles with loss and losing her ID, she gets handed a grenade with its pin pulled.聽

In the episode 6 clip, Nora has filed for divorce from her husband and appears in court to complete the process. Nora learned her husband was cheating from Matt and fully understands the divorce is final even if her husband Celine Classic bags comes back.

HBO's Watching The Leftovers includes an interview with writer聽Kath Lingenfelter on what to expect from "Guest." According to Lingenfelter, viewers will get to know who Nora is, saying, "The whole episode is framed on the idea of Nora Durst's identity. What being Nora Durst means changed and was taken out of Nora's control in the wake of the Sudden Departure. The idea is: Is she interested in taking that control back? This episode challenges that."聽Lingenfelter also notes the episode will take place outside of Mapleton, giving fans another glimpse of the world after the Sudden Departure.

175.42.87.160: Canberra's engineering students assist making life better for disabled

@@@
Disability groups have welcomed collaboration between Louis Vuitton Artsy GM Australian National University students and an assistive technology engineering firm to create low-cost technology.
A learning program launched on Tuesday for students from ANU, the University of Canberra and Canberra Institute of Technology will allow students to help design accessible technology.
Karen Pennell, the senior manager at Advance Personnel, an organisation funded by the Department of Family and Community Services and a program partner, said low-cost technology was hugely important for getting people with disabilities into the workplace.
Ms Pennell said it was great students have people with a disability as part of their thinking and that the program built awareness of the challenges people with a disability face in the workplace.
The executive director of Technical Aid for the Disabled ACT, Graham Waite, said his organisation had been working on technology for the disabled for 35 years but the program Damier Azur Toile to include the design of new aids in the university curriculum was a step forward.
It's a great idea,'' Mr Waite said. ''It's quite concerning when you hear about the cost of items needed by people with a disability.
The worst I've heard was an occupational therapist in Canberra said to me, ''Look, I've just had to script a new wheelchair for someone and it's going to be $36,000,' Mr Waite said.
The institutions will work with Enable Development, a social enterprise aimed at building low-cost technology for the disabled founded by Huy Nguyen.
Mr Nguyen, who tried software engineering and visual arts before ending up an engineer, said the high cost of assistive technology was one of the main barriers to people with disabilities being included in society.
We want to build a culture where assisted technology was more accessible and more affordable, he said.
Mr Nguyen said he was lucky to be exeptionally well supported when attending school in the ACT, but still assistive technology had been a massive financial burden on his family.
Creative solutions required many brains. The event that had the Louis Vuitton Alma biggest impact on my personal development was the ability to collaborate with other students, and cross institutions, not just ANU, Mr Nguyen said.
Tim Fraser, a 23-year-old RMIT engineering student who wasinvolved in the Enable Technology learning program, has helped design a cheaper accessible bike.
Mr Fraser said the bikes usually cost between $3000 and $10,000, which he said was weird because all they are is a rearrangement of a normal bike. So there is no reason why they would cost that much.
Mr Nguyen said the biggest problem was not disability, just bad technology .

@@@
KUNMING, China Rescuers found scores of survivors on Monday as they dug through homes shattered by an earthquake in southern China that killed at least 398 people and injured more than 1,800. Rainstorms were expected to continue to hinder rescue efforts over the coming days.About 12,000 homes collapsed when the quake struck Sunday afternoon in impoverished Ludian county, around 370 kilometers (230 miles) northeast of Yunnan province's capital, Kunming, the official Xinhua News Agency reported.Rescuers digging in the debris by hand freed a 5-year-old boy whose legs were injured, Xinhua reported. It also said firefighters rescued 32 people who had been trapped but had retrieved the bodies of 43 residents.Drenched survivors, including some half-naked, were sitting Celine Cabas Bags along muddy roads in the rain waiting for food and medication, Xinhua reported. Medics were reporting severe shortages of medicine and an inability to perform operations on the severely injured, while rescuers said their work had been hampered by continuous downpours and quake-triggered landslides, Xinhua said.Ma Yaoqi, an 18-year-old volunteer in the quake zone, said by phone that at least half of the buildings had collapsed on the road from the city center of Zhaotong to the hardest-hit town of Longtou. The rest of the buildings were damaged, she said."I saw dead bodies being wrapped in quilts and carried away," said Ma, who arrived with 20 other volunteers Monday. "Some were wrapped with small quilts. Those must be kids."Overhead footage of the quake zone shot by state broadcaster CCTV showed older houses flattened but newer multistory buildings still standing. The magnitude-6.1 quake struck at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday at a depth of 10 kilometers (6 miles), according to the U.S. Geological Survey. China's earthquake monitoring agency put the magnitude at 6.5.The central government has allocated 600 million yuan ($97 million) for rescue and relief work after the quake, the Finance Celine Wallets Ministry said.Dozens of trucks carrying paramilitary troops with banners declaring "Help is on the way" traveled along the four-lane highway from Kunming to Zhaotong on Monday evening.Heavy rain and thunderstorms in the area were complicating efforts to bring tents, water, food and other relief supplies to survivors. Roads had caved in, and rescuers were forced to travel on foot. The national meteorological center said the area near the center of the quake would suffer thundershowers over the next three days.Repeated aftershocks also were making the rescue work dangerous. The Yunnan Civil Affairs Bureau said on its website that 398 people were killed, three were missing and a further 1,801 injured. The death toll is expected to rise after rescuers reach remote communities to assess casualties. About 230,000 people had been evacuated. Many of the homes that collapsed in Ludian, which has a population of about 429,000, were old and made of brick, Xinhua said, adding that electricity and telecommunications were cut off in the county. The mountainous region where the quake occurred is largely agricultural, with farming and mining the top industries, and is prone to earthquakes.More than 2,500 troops were dispatched to the disaster region, Xinhua said. The government also sent thousands of tents, quilts, sleeping bags, cotton coats, folding beds, chairs and tables, and 50 mobile toilets, Xinhua said.Chinese Premier Li Keqiang reached the worst-hit area Monday afternoon to oversee quake relief, state media reported. In 1970, a magnitude-7.7 earthquake in Yunnan killed at least 15,000 people, and a magnitude-7.1 quake killed more than 1,400 in 1974. In September 2012, 81 people died and 821 were injured in a series of quakes in the region. In May 2008, a powerful quake in Sichuan province left nearly 90,000 people dead or missing.
Jenise Wright
The Associated Press
BREMERTON, Wash. 鈥?The parents of a 6-year-old girl who disappeared from her Washington home and wasn鈥檛 reported missing for a day agreed to take lie detector tests and allow a search of the home, a sheriff鈥檚 spokesman said.
Kitsap County Deputy Scott Wilson said Monday he doubted he would be able to discuss results.
State child welfare workers removed two other children, an 8-year-old boy and 12-year-old girl, from the home earlier Monday.
About 80 searchers including dog teams looked Monday for little Jenise Wright, who was last seen Saturday night when she went to bed. She remained missing Tuesday morning. Her family noticed her missing Sunday morning but didn鈥檛 become worried and call for Sac Louis Vuitton Brea help until that night because she had left the home on previous occasions and wandered around the neighborhood.
The family felt it was relatively safe because it鈥檚 a fenced property, Wilson said.
A decision on whether to continue the ground search Tuesday was pending, the spokesman said.
The little girl鈥檚 disappearance was being called a missing person case with 鈥渟uspicious circumstances,鈥?Wilson said. Most missing children would have surfaced by now, he said.
Investigators, who now include the FBI and detectives from nearby police agencies and the Washington State Patrol, are 鈥渓ooking Sac Louis Vuitton Chain Louise at the entire spectrum of possibilities: has the child sustained an accident? Has the child been abducted? Has the child come to harm?鈥?Wilson said.
The FBI has resources 鈥渢hat we can only dream about 鈥?investigative tools, personnel that specialize in child abduction,鈥?Wilson said. 鈥淲e鈥檙e not calling it an abduction, but why not get those resources early on, examine all the possibilities.鈥?
Two parents live in the home in a blended family. The 8-year-old and 12-year-old were the only other children in the home last weekend. A 16-year-old boy was out of town. Two others at the home are adults.
The search began at about 1:30 a.m. Monday with deputies and volunteers in and around the Steele Creek Mobile Home Park. They cleared the park and searched later in the surrounding neighborhood and wooded area, Wilson said.
鈥淪he鈥檚 really independent, she鈥檚 tenacious,鈥?the little girl鈥檚 father, James Wright, told KOMO-TV, describing the neighborhood as safe and saying his daughter roamed the park.
Other residents in the park described Jenise as outgoing and unafraid to talk to anyone.
Bremerton is on Sac Louis Vuitton Citadine the west side of Puget Sound, across from Seattle.
Jenise is 3 feet tall, weighs 45 pounds and has black hair. She鈥檒l be a first-grader this school year. She shared a bedroom with her sister.

175.42.87.160: Penn State football team addresses fumbles by running backs

@@@
So last spring, Huff changed the way Penn State's running backs carry the ball, pointing to an study that said ballcarriers who hold the ball vertically fumble less. The transition took time and remains ongoing. But Penn State's backs enter training camp today ready to cleanse the fumbles from their memories.
When I came in, I got emails, letters and calls saying, 'These guys can't hold onto the ball?' " Huff said. "I told them, 'I don't know who those guys are.' That's over.
"Anybody can tell players to hold onto the ball. Heck, all 107,000 people in the stadium do it every Saturday. How you hold onto the ball is the question."
At Penn State, backs now call the ball, "the program." Huff brought that approach from Western , where he coached last year. Head coach P.J. Fleck wanted his backs to take ball security so seriously that "it kills you to put the program on the ground."
To prevent that, Huff asked his running backs to carry the football with the tip pointed toward their chins. Huff quoted a recent NFL study of fumbles, which noted that backs who hold the ball vertically fumble less.
Essentially, Huff said, it's difficult to dislodge a football that's being carried tight and vertically against the body. Former back learned that later in his career, curbing his fumbling tendencies by making the change.
During spring drills, Huff showed clips of backs who fumbled while not holding the ball vertically. On the field, he shouted "Chin" at them daily as a reminder of where to point the football.
Zwinak, who's four yards shy of 2,000 for his career, called the transition "weird" initially, since his muscle memory was so trained Louis Vuitton Tivoli to hold the ball a different way. But he felt more confident with the change as spring drills ended.
"It's hard to break old habits," Zwinak said. "I've done it so many times that you develop a rhythm and a muscle memory with the way you carry the ball. But every time I got the ball, coach Huff is yelling, 'Chin,' so it's starting to become a habit."
Belton has high expectations for his senior year, saying he wants to be considered among the best backs in the country. To do so, he has worked to run more physically and upgrade his pass-protections skills. Handling the ball, Belton said, was another part of his evolution.
"There are just some things you can't get around," he said. "It's something we had to deal with, and it was definitely awkward at first, but we got into the groove of things. You just have to allow yourself to keep learning, do Louis Vuitton Totally things to get yourself better and prepare yourself for the next level. That's the point I'm at."
Huff said he prides himself on teaching football concepts rather than being a football "babysitter" on the field. He acknowledged that learning a method of holding the ball would be difficult. He also called it vital.
"It's like Rocky II, when Mick tried to teach Rocky how to fight right-handed," Huff said. "But when you do it the right way, you won't put the ball on the ground."
Five things to watch during Penn State training camp

1. Offensive line, offensive line, offensive line. At the media days, coach James Franklin said he expects the line to end up being a strength for us. Franklin did not note a timeline, though. Left tackle Donovan Smith will play alongside four new starters, two of them who could be defensive tackles converted to guard. Still, Franklin said the issue revolves more around experience than talent, and offensive coordinator John Donovan is skilled at calling plays that hide your deficiencies.

2. More running from the QB? Christian Hackenberg won t be running the spread, but Franklin wants him to have a scrambling mindset under duress. The coach also said that Hackenberg, who scored four rushing touchdowns last year, moves better than people think. Maybe <there>will be] a little bit more running than you ve seen in the past, Franklin said, but I don t really see us doing a whole lot of designed runs with him.

3. Broader role for the tight ends. Franklin likes their talent and playmaking ability but wants them to play a bigger part in the run game. Jesse James, Kyle Carter and Adam Breneman, who combined for 58 receptions last year, all have added size, which Breneman said is vital for blocking in the Big Ten. Meanwhile, Franklin called freshman Mike Gesicki, who benched 385 in summer testing, everything you want in a tight end.

4. Downhill defense. We throw the first punch and keep on punching, defensive coordinator Bob Shoop said. That s provocative talk, but what does it mean? Linebacker Mike Hull called Shoop s defensive style downhill, saying he expects it to produce more splash plays and turnovers. Hull, who will be central to the defense at middle linebacker, said he fits such a style. Ends C.J. Olaniyan, Deion Barnes and (a healthy) Brad Bars should thrive in the defense, as should cornerback Jordan Lucas and safety Adrian Amos.

5. Youth on parade. Freshmen will populate the two-deep and special teams, with 58 first-year players (including walk-ons) on the roster. Wide receivers Louis Vuitton W could have the biggest impact, notably DeAndre Thompkins, Saeed Blacknall and Chris Godwin.

Mark Wogenrich

@@@
The revised bill by Sen. Mark Leno (D-San Francisco) passed the Senate and sailed through two Assembly committees. The full Assembly is expected to vote Thursday.
The bill, if passed and signed by Yayoi Kusama Louis Vuitton Soldes the governor, would make California the second state, after Minnesota, to require smartphone kill switches.
Led by San Francisco Dist. Atty. George Gascon, the push for passage gained strength with a new report and survey by a Nebraska business professor. The analysis concluded that smartphone owners could save an estimated $3.4 billion a year if their handsets were rendered worthless by activation of a kill switch.
"If all stolen phones could easily be disabled, criminals would have virtually no incentive to steal a phone in the first place," Sac port锟斤拷 锟斤拷paule said William Duckworth of Creighton University in Omaha. He said that an online survey of smartphone owners showed overwhelming support for the kill-switch option.
The Gascon-Leno proposal is supported by consumer groups, law enforcement and city governments including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Santa Ana, Oakland and San Diego.
It's opposed by the California and Los Angeles area chambers of commerce, tech groups and CTIA, a national wireless trade group. They contend that it's bad public policy for states to pass their own technical regulations for products sold nationally.
CTIA's opposition is not shared by some of its members. According to Gascon, most smartphone makers and marketers, including Apple, , , Samsung, Blackberry, and AT&T, removed their earlier opposition to the bill.
Phony papers
Businesses should watch out for official-looking letters asking for $49.50 for a "Certificate of Status" to show Sac port锟斤拷 main they are corporations in good standing, regulators warn.
The documents are issued only by the Secretary of State, for a $5 fee. A Sacramento firm called "California State Corporations" is making the fraudulent solicitations and "has no affiliations" with the state government, according to an alert from the Secretary of State. Calls to the company, identified on the phone as "California Compliance," were not returned.
It s a setup that works well enough, with the right-hand aiming controls notably tuned with just the right amount of sensitivity.

The idea that the European Union should acquire two French helicopter-carrying assault ships, rather than let France deliver the warships already sold to Russia, is becoming a stronger possibility as Western nations have banned future arms sales to Russia and restricted business with its energy and financial sectors, analysts said.
鈥淚t is being discussed in Paris as Celine Bags Outlet Store an option,鈥?Edouard T茅treau, head of the Paris office of think tank European Council on Foreign Relations,聽. 鈥淚t is gaining traction in Paris. There are diplomats and politicians in Paris who see that as a possibility.鈥?
T茅treau told Defense News that the EU has ample financial means to buy the contract.
鈥淎n alternative would be NATO, which has the infrastructure and mandate," he said. If the EU were to make the move it would likely be via the European Defence Agency (EDA), which could put the funds together for any deal.
Suspecting Russian involvement with the crashed Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 in eastern Ukraine that killed 298 people, the EU and U.S. adopted against Russia last week. The latest round of sanctions cut off Russian state-owned banks from European and American capital markets and ban arms trades and exports of technologies for .
, the sanctions would not affect Celine UK Online France鈥檚 $1.6 billion contract with Russia, signed in 2011, to deliver the Mistral-class warships. Under the contract, France would deliver the first ship by the end of this year and the second in 2015.
French government officials have been looking for a solution that would not harm its shipbuilding industry. The French foreign minister, Laurent Fabius, his government would decide in October whether to go through with the ship deliveries. One option gaining interest as a possible French exit from the arms contract with Russia is the EU buying the contract.
The German Navy has proposed that Europe buy the Mistral ships because such an acquisition is beyond the means of a single nation, according to Claudia Major and Christian Molling, senior researchers at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs. They about the EU acquisition idea, saying Europe 鈥渙ffers the opportunity to solve the French dilemma Celine Online Outlet by buying up the Mistral ships and using them for itself.鈥?
Jean-Paul Perruche, chairman of the think tank EuroDefense-France, told Defense News that an EU acquisition has 鈥渂een under discussion for the last three months under confidentiality.鈥?
But Orton tweeted the same photo shortly after to his girlfriend with a pretty mean caption.

"Look @kimklro I met the Latino Ms. Piggy today at the gym. I wish you were there to have a good laugh with me! #MsPig"

Turns out there's some serious beef between the fan and Orton's Sac Louis Vuitton Evora girlfriend ... a few months ago the wrestler blocked her on Twitter for sending harassing messages to his girlfriend.

She also tweeted saying he was a douche when they took the photo.

Some wrestling fans were still Sac Louis Vuitton Galliera pissed however ... for example, "I lost all respect I had for @RandyOrton after reading that last tweet. You should be ashamed of yourself."

Still, we gotta ask ...

@@@
With its eye firmly fixed on a return to profitability, Sony's been making extensive cuts to its business arms in recent days (). So it's no surprise the company would train that cost-cutting eye onto another underperforming unit -- its e-reader business. Louis Vuitton Tassen Sony announced today that it'll be in the US and Canada come "late March" and that all Reader accounts (including library content) would be moved to during that time. Existing users shouldn't have much to worry about though, as Sony claims the "migration process" should be painless and that it'll issue a how-to email Louis Vuitton Kopen to walk users through it. The deal will also see Kobo's app pre-installed on select Xperia devices, which should give Kobo a significant boost in audience reach. That's assuming Louis Vuitton Handtassen consumers start buying Xperias in bulk.
Update: Sony contacted us to clarify that the Kobo app will only come pre-loaded on select Xperia devices.

175.42.87.160: Billy Joel Concert Elicits Miley Cyrus and Phillies Hate

@@@
Saturday night brought a sold out crowd to Philadelphia s Citizens Bank Park for a performance by Billy Joel. And Joel, who has a reputation for giving it all in his live shows, did not disappoint.
Joel played upwards of 25 songs (a couple of those were more Porte-Monnaie like snippets of songs), including a five song encore. No, he did not play Captain Jack, the song that back in 1972. But other than that, he didn t leave off many big hits. (See the full set list below.)

And he knows that when you're in Philly, you've got to show Philly some respect.
He donned a Phillies cap:
Billy Joel rockin Phillies hat at Citizens Bank Park. We Didnt Start the Fire-sale
John Clark CSN (@JClarkCSN)

He played the Rocky theme, aka "Gonna Fly Now":

He brought Boyz II Men out for "The Longest Time":

And he even covered Philly's Gamble and Huff-produced Soul Survivors:

We quite like that he brought his roadie Chainsaw out to sing AC/DC:

Of course, as is always the case with the Internet, people Pochette Louis Vuitton used the occasion of the Billy Joel concert to show off their wit.
Seems that Spike Eskin is not a fan:
As I close in on 40, my only real fear is being forced to sit through Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel concerts.
Spike Eskin (@SpikeEskin)

One had a Phillies-related request:
Hey , can you dedicate movin out to Ruben Amaro?
Joe (@corrado_19)

Oh, but that wasn't the only Phillies dig:
Billy Joel wearin Phils cap last night. Most hits at Citizens Bank Park this season
John Clark CSN (@JClarkCSN)

Nope, still not done:
Billy Joel s piano scored more than the Phillies did this weekend!
Russell Wheeler (@rpwheels68)

We could go on with the Phillies bashing, but we won't.
Meanwhile, folks also had some bashing for Miley Cyrus, who was performing across the street at the Wells Fargo Center while Joel was at the ballpark:
Miley Cyrus needed a thousand props and costume changes to put on a good show. Billy Joel needed a piano.
SAM GALLEN (@SJGallen)

Its a shame that a man like billy Joel has to share a night with someone like miley cyrus
Vincent Chase (@dan_killion)

When Miley Cyrus fans meet Billy Joel fans.
Mickipedia (@SEACRESTOUT)

Anyway, here's the setlist Sacs du soir Louis Vuitton from Billy Joel at Citizens Bank Park:

175.42.87.160: Gammy mystery agent asks questions about Bunbury father

@@@
The mystery Thai agent at the centre of the Gammy surrogacy has spoken publicly for the first time about the case, asking Fairfax Media about the Australian man in Bunbury who has Louis Vuitton Corners Towel Scarf denied knowing the existence of the critically unwell boy, who has Down syndrome.
Who is the father in Bunbury? The father of the twins? Kamonthip Musikawong, who is known as Joy, asked in an email message.
Fairfax Media can reveal that Ms Kamonthip had no medical education or training before she founded the Bangkok-based company IVF Parenting in early 2013, as the largely unregulated surrogacy business began to boom in Thailand, with hundreds of couples coming from Australia to take part in commercial programs.
LinkedIn lists Ms Kamonthip as working in visa and language services before she founded the company, which advertised as specialising in surrogacy and in vitro fertilisation.
She was at Thailand s Kasetsart University between 2002 and 2006 studying agricultural biotechnology, a collection of scientific techniques used to improve plants, animals and microorganisms.
For almost two years from 2010, Ms Kamonthip was participating in Au Pair, a program where a domestic assistant from a foreign country works for and lives as part of a family in a host country.
Before the ivfarenting.com website became inoperable early on Tuesday, it described how the company began our journey years ago with an infertile couple with young intended mother who was born without a womb .
We assisted them the entire process until they got success on the fourth attempt and brought the baby home, the company said.
If you don t give up we will never give up, it said.
We built our business through trust and connection and grow constantly through word of mouth.
Gammy s surrogate mother Pattharamon Janbua said she contacted Ms Kamonthip, who she claims still owes her money, through Facebook and was chosen by an Australian couple after providing personal details and photographs.
Ms Pattharamon Ceinture Louis Vuitton said she was asked to have an abortion after it became known she was having twins, one of whom has Down syndrome, but she refused because of her Buddhist beliefs.
The Australian couple took the twin girl after both babies had been kept together in hospital for a month after the birth, leaving 21-year-old Ms Pattharamon to try to save the life of Gammy, who has a hole in his heart.
A fundraising campaign has raised almost $220,000 for Gammy.
Ms Kamonthip, who has not being answering her telephones Anagramme ceinture since Fairfax Media revealed Gammy s plight last week, said in an email she planned to do an interview with an Australian media organisation.
She declined to answer questions from Fairfax Media.
If you don t know the story, you better not say anything, she wrote in an email.
Be patient I am not interested in talking to so many media. Thanks for offering, she wrote.
Thai medical authorities on Monday announced an investigation into the Gammy case amid a crackdown on commercial surrogacy and IVF gender selection procedures.
IVF Parenting s website claimed the company offered a choice of clinics with the best success rates in Bangkok .
Costs ranged from $US10,000 to $US35,000 depending on the services you require .
The company said it assisted intended parents whether they are traditional couples, same-sex couples, or single parents to build a family through gestational surrogacy .
It said surrogate mothers must be between 20 and 40 years old, have already given birth to at least one healthy baby, and have a healthy history of previous pregnancies.
She must also willingly sign a contract agreeing to her role and responsibilities in the pregnancy .

Until the 220-pound bear was rounded up, the zoo was locked down and visitors were moved to protected areas.
For the second time in two tries, the proposee said yes.Immediately afterward, Rubix Kube kicked in to Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train." A commentary?Big crowdsSpeaking of Rubix Kube, the band Yayoi Kusama Louis Vuitton Soldes drew a huge crowd Monday not surprising, since it has played paid-ticket shows at Bethlehem's Musikfest Caf and near Jim Thorpe. But near all the Musikfest venues on Bethlehem's North Side had big crowds yesterday especially considering it was Monday, typically not the busiest day for Musikfest.Mark Demko, director of public relations for ArtsQuest, the nonprofit group that presents Musikfest, attributed it to Monday's fine weather, after a spotty weekend. There were a good 750 people watching The Badlees at Liederplatz, likely a thousand watching Rubix Kube at Festplatz, the same number gathered for Grateful Dead tribute band Splintered Sunlight at Plaza Tropical and several hundred at the same time at Volksplatz for Philadelphia Celtic rockers Barleyjuice.BarleyjuiceSpeaking of Barleyjuice, the band announced it won't be at Bethlehem's festival this year because it's headed to Ireland for a tour.To make up for it, the band played a caution-to-the-wind set of delightfully drunken songs driven by violin and accordion.

175.42.87.160: Lake Erie's algae woes began building a decade ago - News

@@@
TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) 鈥?The toxins that contaminated the drinking water supply of 400,000 people in northwest Ohio didn't just suddenly appear.Water plant operators along western Lake Erie have long been worried about this very scenario as a growing number of algae blooms have turned the water into a pea soup color in recent summers, leaving behind toxins that can sicken people and kill pets.In fact, the problems on the shallowest of the five Great Lakes brought on by farm runoff and sludge from sewage treatment plants have been building for more than a decade. While Celine Bags Outlet residents around Ohio's fourth-largest city were being told to avoid drinking tap water for a second day, discussion began to center around how to stop the pollutants fouling the lake that supplies drinking water for 11 million people."People are finally waking up to the fact that this is not acceptable," Toledo Mayor D. Michael Collins said.City and state officials monitoring the water were waiting for a new set of samples to be analyzed Sunday before determining whether the water was safe."This is not over yet," said Collins, who said some samples have showed decreased levels of toxins in the water.Toledo officials warned residents not to use city water early Saturday after tests at one treatment plant showed readings for microcystin above the standard for consumption, most likely because of the algae.Drinking the water could cause vomiting, cramps and rashes. Health officials advised children and those with weak immune systems to avoid showering or bathing in the water.Worried residents told not to drink, brush their teeth or wash dishes with the water descended on truckloads of bottled water delivered from across the state as the governor declared a state of emergency. The Ohio National Guard was using water purification systems to produce drinkable water. Some hospitals canceled elective surgeries and were sending surgical equipment that needed sterilized to facilities outside the water emergency, said Bryan Biggie, disaster coordinator for ProMedica hospitals in Toledo. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration released a satellite image showing a small but concentrated algae bloom centered right where Toledo draws its water supply, said Jeff Reutter, head of the Ohio Sea Grant research lab.The bloom was much smaller than in past years and isn't expected to peak until early September. But instead of being pushed out to the middle of the lake, winds and waves drove the algae toward the shore, he said."Weather conditions made it such that bloom was going right into the water intakes," said Reutter, who has been studying the lake since the 1970s, when it was severely polluted."We're right back to where we were in the '70s," Reutter said.Almost a year ago, one Celine Outlet Store township just east of Toledo told its 2,000 residents not to drink or use the water coming from their taps. That was believed to be the first time a city has banned residents from using the water because of toxins from algae in the lake.Researchers largely blame the algae's resurgence on manure and chemical fertilizer from farms that wash into the lake along with sewage treatment plants. Leaky septic tanks and stormwater drains have contributed, too. Combined, they flush huge amounts of phosphorus into the lake.Environmental groups and water researchers have been calling on Ohio and other states in the Great Lakes region to drastically reduce the amount of phosphorus flowing into the lake. Ohio lawmakers this past spring took a step Celine UK toward tackling the algae problem when they enacted a law requiring most farmers to undergo training before they use commercial fertilizers on their fields. But they have stopped short of mandating restrictions on farmers. The International Joint Commission, an advisory agency made up of Canadian and U.S. officials, said last year urgent steps are needed to reduce phosphorus applied to fields, suggesting among other things that states ban the spread of manure on frozen or snow-covered ground. That report came after a state task force in Ohio called for a 40 percent reduction in all forms of phosphorus going into the lake.Agriculture industry groups have been asking farmers for more than a year to reduce phosphorus runoff before government regulators step in."We're clearly showing progress," Reutter said. "You have to decide for yourself whether you think it's fast enough."

AKRON, Ohio (AP) 鈥?Tiger聽Woods suffered more back pain Sac Louis vuitton Sunday and withdrew after eight holes at the Bridgestone Invitational, struggling to even take off his golf shoes before being driven away to an uncertain future.
In his third tournament since returning from back surgery, Woods injured himself playing a shot from the lip of a bunker on the par-5 second hole. After an awkward slash at the ball, he fell back toward the sand and landed with a thud and kept jogging out of the bunker from his moment.
I just jarred it, and it s been spasming ever since, Woods told a PGA Tour official before leaving.
He kept playing, hitting a number of shockingly bad shots. He hit one shot into the water on the No. 3, some 30 yards short. He came up 65 yards short of the flag on a par 3. And from a bunker on the seventh hole, he blasted out through the green and into the fairway.
After hitting a 315-yard tee shot into the left rough on No. 9, he grimaced at impact, slowly stooped over with his right hand on his leg, reached toward his back and struggled to even remove his tee from the ground. Moments later, he stepped into a cart and headed LOUIS VUITTON Site Officiel to the parking lot.
At his car, Woods could barely switch out of his golf shoes. His caddie, Joe La Cava, drove him away.
It s just the whole lower back, Woods said. I don t know what happened.
Woods had back surgery March 31 to alleviate an impinged nerve, forcing him to miss the Masters for the first time and the U.S. Open. He returned June 26 at Congressional 鈥?three weeks ahead of his own schedule 鈥?and reported no pain at the Quicken Loans National, where he missed the cut by LOUIS VUITTON Homme four shots, or the British Open, where he wound up 69th for his worst 72-hole finish in a major.
Woods was 3 over par for his round when he withdrew.
He did not say whether he would be able to play the PGA Championship next week 鈥?Just trying to get out of here, he told the tour official 鈥?though this surely would make it difficult for Tom Watson to consider Woods as a captain s pick for the Ryder Cup.
Watson has said for the last few months that he wanted Woods on the team if he was healthy and playing well.
So for the sake of embracing our inevitable robotic futures, let鈥檚 have a look at some of what鈥檚 out there and dig a bit deeper than the Google Glass and . It鈥檚 a sometimes exciting, often Louis Vuitton Large Shawl Scarf strange place, where socks have become intelligent and tattoos know what鈥檚 in your sweat. The future has arrived and honestly, it鈥檚 pretty weird.

Consider the ElectroZyme something of a gateway drug to cybernetic body modification. You don鈥檛 have to chop off a limb or risk the infection or biological rejection that often comes with implants (just because you think a forehead webcam would be cool, doesn鈥檛 mean your body does) and you鈥檙e able to upgrade a heck of a lot more often. The ElectroZyme is more akin to a temporary tattoo. It鈥檚 essentially a sensor that adheres to your skin for a limited window and feeds back sweat rate, muscle fatigue, and even muscle degradation as you exercise.
聽($120)
As far as I can tell, Fin is the only company on this list that claims to 鈥渇eel like magic鈥?in its Indiegogo pitch video. And sure, maybe there鈥檚 something magical in being able control your various gadgets with the wave of a hand 鈥?but in this case the wand is a fairly bulky looking ring you wear on your finger. Lousy first-gen devices.
Still, the wearable can potentially let you do things like change channels, advance songs and snap photos just by moving your fingers in the air. You can also connect a single ring to multiple devices, switching between them by touching your thumb to one of your pinkies. Yep, sorry lower lifeforms, this one鈥檚 for primates only.
For those not quite ready for the commitment of a wearable engagement ring, Louis Vuitton Shawl there may be no better way to say 鈥淚 love you, you giant nerd鈥?than the $80 Bloom, a floral-patterned bit of geeky jewelry. It鈥檚 a necklace that can accept 鈥?cookie-shaped Shine, which can track your fitness and sleep.Given that the Shine currently comes in nine different colors including 鈥渟ea glass,鈥?鈥渨ine鈥?and 鈥渃olor,鈥?smart outfit coordination shouldn鈥檛 be a problem.
聽($200)
We鈥檙e waiting on pins and needles for more information about , but at least we鈥檝e got the top half of our future smart uniform figured out. has a number of different bio-sensing shirts up for pre-order. The skintight affairs monitor heart rate, breathing, and calories burned, transmitting that information to your chosen device via a little black clip-on module. The $100 fitness model also promises to help keep you dry and to do something about that smell (we weren鈥檛 going to say anything, but since we鈥檙e on the subject鈥?. And like all quality shirts, the OMSignal charges up with USB.
聽($149)
In the not-so-distant future, biometric sensors will be inexpensive enough so as to be nearly ubiquitous. We鈥檒l laugh at the notion that, once upon a time, we wore standalone heart rate monitors strapped to our chest and take for granted that . In the meantime, however, that information arrives on our smartphones by way of big 鈥?and sometimes 鈥?awkward chunks of plastic. I mention all of this to point out that including Sensoria鈥檚 Fitness Socks on Louis Vuitton Silk Scarf this list is actually a bit of a cheat.
They track plenty, including the standard step counting, calories burned and speed, as well as highly more specific data points like foot landing and cadence, but require a snap-on anklet to do their job. Really, it鈥檚 a bit like wearing a Fitbit on your foot. Oh and a pair of the things (along with said anklet) will run you $200. Still, there is, perhaps, something to be said for the potential for accuracy that comes with moving the sensors down to the body part that鈥檚 actually doing all of the work while you run. But unless you鈥檙e cool rewearing sweaty gym socks, or have several hundred bucks to drop on a couple pairs, you鈥檙e only going to be able to collect that data once per laundry cycle.
聽($150)
Here鈥檚 a highly specialized product from a highly specialized company. Zepp makes one sensor that鈥檚 bundled with different mounts: one for baseball bats, one tennis rackets and a glove mount for golf players. The fairly conspicuous sensor (the thing is roughly the size of a quarter and about as neon yellow as it gets) tracks speed, backswing position, hip rotation, tempo, swing plane, and alerts the authorities if Tiger Woods tries to get fresh with you. Well, not the last thing.

A standalone web-centric version remains elusive but it s likely in the long-term radar -- it needs to be as video content competition increases from online services such as Netflix.
Expanding its web-only service could Louis Vuitton Portemonn be used as a trial run to see how this might eventually work in the US. In the meantime, the company isn t too concerned about people with non-subscribers (they say it s good marketing), and you can get in some markets with HBO bundled in.

175.42.87.160: Los Angeles Lakers

@@@
Who are the 2014-2015 Los Angeles Lakers? It s too soon to even call this a work in progress. This will obviously revolve around Kobe Bryant, but Jeremy Lin can be a vital piece of their possible success, although it does mean that Byron Scott gives Acheter louis vuitton him a shot at sometimes leading this team.
The definition of point guard doesn t matter. It s who gets to pull the strings, call the plays and have the ball in his hands that determines how this team will look. It s been a very long time that the only player with that responsibility has been Kobe Bryant, and he doesn t relinquish power or share the ball with others easily. We saw how well that attempt ended with Dwight Howard running as fast as possible out of Los Angeles.
Lin, obviously, isn t Howard. He hasn t come here to become the new face of the franchise or the future of the Lakers. He isn t going to try and play some alpha-dog games with Kobe Bryant. He s here to help this team but also give his career a boost, as it has been treading water since leaving the New York Knicks for the Houston Rockets. Obviously, he needs someone to trust Voyage Louis Vuitton in him the way Mike D Antoni trusted him, maybe without having any choice, back on the East Coast.
Byron Scott has done some nice things with point guards in the past. Maybe it didn t have a lot to do with him maybe it was simply a case of being in the right place at the right time. Still, Scott has coached Jason Kidd, Chris Paul and Kyrie Irving. To some extent, he has a part in the players they were under him and a bit later. Scott wasn t a point guard himself, but he probably knows a thing or two about coaching the position.
Still, the strong man in all of this is Bryant, and perhaps Mitch Kupchack. That was seen when Scott was given a contract that s smaller in pay compared to rookie head coaches like Steve Kerr, David Blatt and Derek Fisher. This is a GM league, a superstar league. Head coaches without title rings find it difficult to make it their team, especially if they re not something new and refreshing.
The Lakers have the tools to make this season better than the last. They have a point guard who can keep Steve Nash rested, and provide the same passing and improved scoring compared to Kendall Marshall last season. Lin can make Carlos Boozer look like a great power forward from time to time after almost two years without a decent point guard feeding him the ball at Chicago. Lin doesn t need the spotlight, the pats on the back or the points. He just needs the ball in his hands to make others better.
And that s going to be the key making everyone play their part. For Steve Portefeuille Louis Vuitton Nash to be the backup point guard he is now. For Kobe Bryant to be a less ball dominant shooting guard, although that mostly depends on his ego. For Nick Young to remember this isn t the same injury-riddled team of last season. It s going to be a tough preseason and process once it begins. Jeremy Lin can shine through all of this, but only if he is rewarded with trust and faith from those calling the shots.

175.42.87.160: NBA Rumors- Phoenix Suns Will Eventually Re

@@@
Although Eric Bledsoe and his agents thinks he deserves a massive contract extension, he ll soon realize that what the Phoenix Suns have been offering is as good as it s going to get for him, at least in this NBA off-season.
The Suns have made an offer worth $48 million over four years to the restricted free agent. Bledsoe, despite his reputation and demands, hasn t done much in the NBA as of yet. He was a backup through his first three seasons in the league and last year was his first as a starting player. Louis Vuitton Evora He averaged 17.7 points per game, quite impressive, but managed to stay healthy for just half the seasons.
The only team that can give Bledose an offer sheet with more money are the Philadelphia 76ers. Now, the Sixers might be a team that players will want to play for again in a year or two, but that s not happening right now, and the Sixers aren t very likely to commit any kind of money to anyone but their own building projects at the moment.
So what are the options for Bledose? Taking the offer from the Suns and end what is almost turning into a feud between the sides, even though both of them are saying it s just business , or take a one-year qualifying offer which means making a lot less money than he would have been if he d accepted the long-term deal, but it ll give him a window to unrestricted free agency in 12 months, which might not be such a bad idea.
The Suns surprised everyone with their impressive season in 2013-2014, narrowly missing the playoffs. They didn t get the opportunity to make a big free Louis Vuitton Galliera agency signing no one would sit down with them, but they remain a young and promising team that will be taken more seriously this season. Keeping Bledose is a big part of those plans, and eventually, he ll realize that there s nothing better for him out there, or at least that is what the team s owner,
We think it s a fair offer. I think you could argue, you know, I mean some would say it s maybe a little high; some would say it s low.聽What s fair is important to us, and also important to him him and his agent. It s not necessarily us to determine what he thinks is fair; it s him to determine that.聽聽think Eric s a great guy. And he ll be happy here when he gets here, whether that s for one year or for four years or five years.聽I think his agent s trying to Louis Vuitton Lockit do the best job he can, too. And I have a pretty good relationship with his agent. It s just part of the process. I wish it would have been resolved earlier, but it is what it is.

@@@
SOUTH BEND, Ind.--- Workout routines have taken a tortuous turn.
Running through mud and fighting in cages are just some of the latest extreme workouts.
But one wrong move and you could be in trouble.
A dislocated jaw, broken ribs and 20 cases of cauliflower ear haven鈥檛 stopped Caroline Portugal, MMA fighter, from cage fighting.
"It definitely kicks your butt. It is the ultimate cardiovascular
Workout," said Portugal.
Then there's Krizia Carr. She prefers aerial exercises.
"Strength equals confidence,鈥?said Carr. 鈥淚f you don't have that power, you doubt yourself, You think, 鈥榦h my gosh, I don't want to let go鈥? You don't want to have that in the back of your mind, because then you could make a fatal mistake."
Carr started flying on the trapeze when she was five years old.
"It's kind of like riding a bike,鈥?said Carr. 鈥淥nce you learn the tricks, you are pretty much good for a while."
Jodi Hebert, an obstacle course competitor, runs through mud and scales walls to get her kicks.
"You get up the wall and it's like, 'wow I did that and it's a 10 foot wall鈥? and you're thinking, 鈥榳hen have I ever tried to climb a 10 foot wall ever in my life鈥?" said Hebert.
But some Celine Bags Outlet Store say use caution when beginning to pursue some of these action filled sports.
"Some of the stuff that's done is so extreme, and the body is not yet prepared for it," said Jeanmarie Scordino, an Exercise Physiologist with Baycare Health Systems.
Scordino says people who don't train properly for extreme workouts can end up with knee, lower back , and shoulder Celine UK Online problems.
"You're inherently going to up the chance of injuries, and there's also a lot of heart attacks that occur with a lot of these races," said Scordino.
A study done at the Mayo Clinic found benefits drop off the longer and harder you exercise, and extreme workouts can damage your heart.
Another study found runners were 19 percent less likely to die than non-runners, but the benefits of exercise decreased for those who logged more than 20 miles a week.
Participation in sports like baseball and basketball are down 28 percent and 17 percent, but partaking in extreme sports like skateboarding is up 49 percent, while snowboarding is up 51 percent.
The bottom line, if you're going to go extreme be safe and remember, extreme isn't for everyone.
EXTREME WORKOUTS (LONG)
REPORT #2112a
BACKGROUND: Extreme endurance exercise can be very dangerous. A review was published in Mayo Clinic Proceedings and said that the longer and harder you exercise, the more your benefits begin to drop. Not only that, but the review also said that extreme workouts can be harmful to your heart. In an editorial in the journal Heart, cardiologists encourage people to take part in moderate exercise because that has the most benefits to the body. Overall, your body will be in better shape now and in the future, if you don't push it too hard. A study in 2012 discovered that people who run are 19% less likely to die than people who don't run. However runners who run more than 20 miles per week saw a decrease in benefits. Some researchers however argue that and are saying exercising over an hour doesn't decrease your health benefits but rather they remain the same, so you don't gain or lose. The battle between how much is too much will continue to be a debate for a long time.
(Source: http://www.mensfitness.com/training/cardio/can-extreme-endurance-exercise-kill)
POPULARITY OF EXTREME SPORTS TODAY: Extreme sports have become more popular. Traditional sports like football, Celine Online Outlet soccer, basketball, and baseball are still very popular, but a new group of sports is gaining popularity. The top five extreme sports include inline skating, skateboarding, paintball, artificial wall climbing and snowboarding. Since 1987, this has caused a 28% decrease in baseball, a 17% decrease in basketball, and a 36% decrease in volleyball, while skateboarding has increased 49%.
(Sources: http://www.momsteam.com/sports/snowboarding/extreme-sports-ranking-high-in-popularity)
EFFECTS OF EXTREME SPORTS: Because of the intensity and danger of extreme sports some participants are getting hurt, and sometimes it even involves hospitalization. However reports are saying these sports aren't as dangerous asmost people would think. In the past four years only 139 documented people were hospitalized from skateboarding injuries. Snowboarding has about four injuries per 1,000 boarders and most often they are from falling while
attempting tricks. While there is still a chance of getting hurt in any sport, most are happy with the exercise children are receiving. Instead of sitting at home, kids are being active, which should help with the obesity impact in America if these sports continue to grow.

@@@
Scroll through country radio these days and you're bound to hear a whistle by a foursome that's as catchy as it is zestful. To say Little Big Town's "Day Drinking," with its whimsical hooks, is anything less than intoxicating (in more ways than one) would be an injustice.
Related
Little Big Town s Day Drinking Video
The four members of LV Cosmic Blossom the band, Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet and Jimi Westbrook, knew early on that "Day Drinking" would be the first single off of their upcoming Pain Killer album after members of their management team had emphatic reactions.
"Our manager freaked out when he heard it," Fairchild recalls.
"Our publisher did, too," Sweet adds. "We were cautiously optimistic, so we underplayed it a little."
The song, however, embraced everything about summer sunshine, beaches, happiness, painfully long office days and, of course, a few beverages. In the spirit of their current single, Rolling Stone Country sat down with the group prior to a show in Las Vegas to go over their favorite summer anthems of all time. Listen to Little Big Town's hand-picked, sun-soaked tracks via the Spotify playlist below, followed by their commentary on each song.

"Margaritaville," Jimmy Buffett
"We like margaritas," Fairchild says. "We make our own LBT-Rita. It's beer and tequila together, but it will kick you on your you-know-what, so maybe it's the memories of that song and the memories that you attach to it."
"That's such a laid back thing," Westbrook adds. "Everybody has been trying to duplicate that song. The lyrics to that song, I love. It's so memorable. That's really the gold standard of summer songs."
"Soak Up The Sun," Sheryl Crow
"That is pure sunshine and pure summer," says Schlapman. "When I think of that song, colors come into my brain, yellow and orange and all those bright, bold colors. She was hot in that video, too."
"Crazy in Love," Beyonce
"That's song is just so badass," Sweet says. "It has the groove that is just infectious."
"She was making her mark with that one," Fairchild echoes. "I remember those little daisy dukes she had on in the video. She's the Queen B."
"Toes," Zac Brown
Schlapman's fondness for LV Mahina cuir this song goes beyond the lyrics to a much more personal place, her now 7-year-old daughter, Daisy. One of Daisy's first sentences, Schlapman explains, was some of the chorus to "Toes." "<Daisy> was barely two years old and just barely making sentences," Schlapman recalls, "and she was there in her crib and she said, 'Life is good today.'"
"Three Little Birds," Bob Marley
"His spirit is so free, you can just feel it," Sweet says. "It's a laid back, groovy song. Of course, they were dealing with oppression and he was saying that everything is actually going to be all right. He's happy for a reason."
"That's the kind of anthem you can only dream about writing," Fairchild adds.
"Summer of '69," Bryan Adams
"That's just good old rock roll," Sweet says. "It's like comfort food."
"Pontoon," Little Big Town
"Is it bad that we name our own song?" Schalpman asks. Recalling a story about the lyrics of the song, Fairchild says, "Some mother came up to me and said, 'Thanks for teaching my kid what motorboating is.' I was like, that's your problem."
"Chattahoochee," Alan Jackson
"We used to 'shoot the hooch' in Atlanta," Fairchild remembers. "It's basically inner tubing down the Chattahoochee River."
"Summertime," Will Smith
"That's a good jam right there," Fairchild declares.
"Sex on Fire," Kings of Leon
"I remember the first time I heard that song. It was a rock and roll summer for me," Sweet recalls. "We were on some sort of drive going on a road trip and I remember thinking, this sounds incredible. It was a huge summertime LV Toile Monogram hit."
"American Kids," Kenny Chesney
"I think that's going to be the big summer song at the tail end of this summer," Fairchild predicts.

@@@
According to , the Canadiens agreed to extend Subban for $72 million, thereby avoiding the salary arbitration ruling. Initially, the Habs only offered $5.25 million a year. Subban and the team met on August 1 for an arbitration hearing which lasted four hours. Subban was asking for $8.5 million for a term lasting only one year. Now, Subban will rake in an average of $9 million a year.
Subban said, "I think that it sends a Porte-Monnaie strong message to me that they want me here and they appreciate everything I've done to this point and they believe in me as a player. I think I've always believed in that, but obviously in this process and coming out with this result, now everybody else understands it and can see it as well and doesn't have to speculate about how the Montreal Canadiens feel about me."
Subban and the Canadiens only had about 48 hours to reach an agreement after the hearing or until an arbitrary decision was made by Neumeier. Should an arbitration contract ensue, the two camps would not Pochette Louis Vuitton be able to reach a new deal until January 1, 2015.
Bergevin said, "This agreement helps consolidate the future of our team. A key element of our group of young veterans, P.K. plays with a high level of intensity every time he steps onto the ice. Despite his young age, he carries a Sacs du soir Louis Vuitton great deal of experience and brings contagious energy to the team. Defensemen of his level are a rare commodity in the NHL."
P.K. Subban was an asset to the Habs especially during the 2012-2013 season where he became the first defenseman in the team to be given the James Norris Trophy since Chris Chelios.
Lori Grassi beat cancer three times and she has 28 friends who ve died of cancer but she s Celine Bags Outlet Store still brimming with hope.Grassi, a 52-year-old Tacoma resident, is one of more than 900 cyclists participating in the Aug. 9-10 on the roads between Seattle and Tacoma. The cyclists are raising money for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. In its second year, Obliteride is quickly gaining a reputation for spoiling its riders with food and entertainment, ride director Mark Grantor says 100 percent of all donations go to cancer research. (The $100-150 registration fee paid by each cyclist couple and sponsorships go to stage the event.) That is the most important thing to me, Grassi said. I want to participate in something that might help find a cure for, at least, some of the common cancers. Grassi survived breast, cervical and ovarian cancer and has been cancer-free for 13 years. But she was stunned when she started making a list of friends who ve died of cancer. He came up with 28 friends she will ride for. When Obliteride started last year she was quick to sign up, joining a team (The Obliterati) based out of Tacoma s Old Town Bicycle shop. The minimum fundraising requirement for Obliteride s longest ride is $1,975. Each of the four members of the Obliterati raised at least $5,000, said. So far this year the . In total, the 2013 ride raised $1.9 million, Grantor said. The ride isn t easy. The two-day 150-mile route will climb nearly 12,000 feet on Bainbridge Island and the Kitsap Peninsula before reaching the University of Puget Sound. After spending the night at the college, where riders will be entertained with a concert by the Paper Boys, they will return to Seattle on the east side Celine UK Online of Puget Sound.Organizers hope people will visit the course to cheer on the riders. There are also 25-, 50-, and 100-mile routes Sunday, Aug.10. The 25- and 50-mile rides are designed to be easier and accessible to more riders. But the longer rides are tough. The way it should be if you ask Grassi. It is hard, but it is not as hard as it sounds, Grassi said. It s harder to burry somebody than it is to ride hills. Grassi and Grantor say most riders are nervous about the fundraising obligation. The minimum fundraising obligation is $1,000 for the 25-mile ride. But Grassi says the fundraising actually is quite easy because almost everybody has been impacted by cancer.Riders can for the ride up until the start of the event. They have until Sept. 30 to raise money.Riders can expect to be well fed (catered meals) by more than 700 volunteers. And they ll also be entertained. Michael Franti is performing at a kickoff party on Thursday, Aug. 8, and Celine Online Outlet three local contestants from the NBC show The Voice will perform at the finish area on Sunday, Aug. 10.

@@@
ELTOPIA Alan Schreiber s truck bounces along a rutted road past row upon row of crops.Blueberries, asparagus, apples, cantaloupe, Brussels sprouts, Concord grapes, Merlot grapes, peaches, pears, cherries, onions, pumpkins, potatoes, tomatoes, sugar beets, alfalfa. Over 300 varieties of produce, much of it part of experiments on disease, pests and growing techniques. Every row here is something different, the Franklin County farmer said. There s Fava beans, Chinese cabbage, early green cabbage, green cabbage, red cabbage, savoy cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, another kind of kale, bok choy, some Napa cabbage, peppers, melons, tomatoes, tomatillos, eggplant. It goes on and on and on. But the crop that Schreiber figures will be more lucrative than any of them was completely unfamiliar to him a foreign world. Until a grower came to him wanting to know how to control mites on marijuana plants. That s when Schreiber realized he d better learn about the cannabis plant. He turned out to have a source of knowledge on his own staff. The 52-year-old Schreiber met 25-year-old Tom Balotte about a year ago and hired him as a mechanic. Balotte had worked on a Virginia Tech research farm before moving with his girlfriend to Washington state. He put his mechanical mind to work fixing and Louis Vuitton Palermo designing equipment, like a shield he built to expand the space that could be used for research by keeping pesticide being sprayed on some plants away from others. The Romania-born, Texas-raised son of a botanist and a mechanical engineer, Balotte s tattoos tell part of his story. The design on his arm relates to shooting airsoft guns, the one on his fist to a favorite metal band, and the ink on his back and his other arm to the worlds of video games The Elder Scrolls and World of Warcraft. A three-monitor display at home immerses him in his games.Schreiber is a straitlaced Eastern Washington farmer. He grew up on a farm and earned doctoral degrees in entomology and pesticide toxicology, then worked for the Environmental Protection Agency and as a Washington State University professor before going into commercial research. He voted against Initiative 502 that legalized recreational marijuana. If they re something of an odd couple, it turned out they were well suited for collaboration on the new project Schreiber had in mind. I ve got the pest management experience, Schreiber said, and he s got the kind of applied, real-world, make-things-grow skills. The full realization came months after Balotte was hired, during a conversation over beers at a 30th-floor Portland restaurant at the end of a long day at an agricultural conference. It turned out Balotte s past tinkering included growing marijuana in a closet. They started to realize Balotte s experience could be a perfect match for Schreiber s hopes of doing cutting-edge research Louis Vuitton Pallas and development on the plant and its pests. He was made for a project like this, Schreiber said.Balotte isn t a pot smoker, although he travels in the right circles. I wish I could, but I was just too sensitive to it, Balotte said. My friends, it looks like they re having the most fun in the world, and I m sitting there with my beer in my hand just sitting there with envy, because it looks awesome. Now Schreiber has applied for Louis Vuitton Rendez-Vous a license. His is one of more than 2,400 applications still waiting after the state Liquor Control Board has approved fewer than 140 growers.Meantime, Balotte has designed a prototype of a hydroponic growing contraption. If you want to try some advanced growing techniques you have to involve some engineering, some design, and that s really what I like, Balotte said. The prototype involves PVC tubes dotted with holes like giant flutes, each hole a spot for a plant to stick out of while its roots are bathed in nutrients. The thing is gathering dust in a greenhouse while they wait for a license. If approved, they expect they can pioneer new ways of not only growing the plant, but keeping it from being destroyed by pests and contaminants.Schreiber expects a huge demand for information among the licensed growers. The first time that somebody has $100,000 worth of this that they lose because they get an aphid infestation, a mite infestation, powder mildew or Botrytis (a fungus), he said, ... people will want to know how to control these pests.

@@@
Bruce Chapman, the architect of the HECS repayment scheme, backed calls for a comprehensive debt recovery scheme, estimating it could save the budget $80 million a year.
University graduates do not currently have to repay their loans while living overseas.
''There are big licks of cash that can be found - we don't believe it is as hard as has been made out. The United Kingdom does it and New Zealand does it,'' Universities Australia chief executive Belinda Robinson said.
It was ''unfair'' to charge students higher fees and increased interest on their debts while not asking overseas graduates to repay their debts. ''It's a free ride,'' she said. ''Recovering Sac LOUIS VUITTON debts from overseas would make other changes more palatable.''
The Grattan Institute estimated that charging overseas debtors would bring in $177 million in extra revenue over two years.
Education Minister Christopher Pyne said he was negotiating a reciprocal arrangement to allow Australia to recover debts from citizens working in Britain. ''One of the purposes of the dialogue is to reach an agreement to shut the Sac LOUIS VUITTON solders loophole that allows Australian graduates living in the UK to avoid repaying their HECS debt to the Australian taxpayer,'' he said.
About 23 per cent of graduates working overseas live in Britain, according to Graduate Careers Australia.
Professor Chapman, director of policy impact at the Australian National University's Crawford School, said bilateral debt recovery arrangements were ''too much trouble and too political''. It would be more effective to require all graduates who move abroad for more than six months to repay $2000 a year - the minimum repayment amount.
''You put the onus on the student so that if they don't repay they are breaking the law,'' he said.
Professor Chapman said education ministers had squibbed the issue since HECS was Sac LOUIS VUITTON pas cher introduced. Given debts could double under a deregulated system, it was more important than ever to recover them, he said.
Earlier this year, Mr Pyne floated the idea of recovering debts from deceased estates, but the idea was ruled out by Prime Minister Tony Abbott.

@@@
MILWAUKEE (WITI) After 13 people are shot in the last three days, city leaders in Milwaukee are speaking out on plans to curb the violence. Mayor Tom Barrett says more patrols will be out, but some are saying that s just not good enough.
What we re going to be doing this year is we re going to be very proactive. There s going to be a lot of overtime, quite honestly, and police are going to be targeting those areas where they are seeing the most activity, said Barrett.
Milwaukee County Sheriff David says the mayor and police chief should hire a minimum of 300 to 500 more officers and put Louis Vuitton Tassen them on the streets.
This聽whack-a-mole Louis Vuitton Kopen strategy of increasing police presence only after a high-profile incident occurs to give the appearance something will be done only to leave after a few days, allows the criminals to return and once again dominate the neighborhood, said Clarke.
Milwaukee police promised a larger presence near 34th and Hadley after two children were shot in crossfire at the end of July. The victims were traveling in a van with seven kids in all.
Police now say they have arrested suspects in that shooting as well as another shooting near N. 27th and Hope. A woman at a bus stop was hit in the leg during that incident.
You have to have more cops. All the Milwaukee police officers are going today is going from one call to the next call, said Clarke.
Mayor Barrett says citizens will see Louis Vuitton Handtassen more officers on the streets this month, but they will be working on overtime. He will not be adding more positions within the force.
It s something we re taking very, very seriously. I spoke to the chief on Friday and we discussed this. He understands, and I understand, how important it is to have this strong presence because every single neighborhood in this city deserves to be a safe neighborhood, said Barrett.
Sheriff Clarke also pointed out a news conference today was simply about safety and had nothing to do with the Sheriff s race election next week.
