A learning program launched on Tuesday for students from ANU, the University of Canberra and Canberra Institute of Technology will allow students to help design accessible technology.
Karen Pennell, the senior manager at Advance Personnel, an organisation funded by the Department of Family and Community Services and a program partner, said low-cost technology was hugely important for getting people with disabilities into the workplace.
Ms Pennell said it was great students have people with a disability as part of their thinking and that the program built awareness of the challenges people with a disability face in the workplace.

The executive director of Technical Aid for the Disabled ACT, Graham Waite, said his organisation had been working on technology for the disabled for 35 years but the program <a href=http://www.saclouisvuittonhomme.com/damier-azur-toile-39>Damier Azur Toile</a> to include the design of new aids in the university curriculum was a step forward.
It's a great idea,'' Mr Waite said. ''It's quite concerning when you hear about the cost of items needed by people with a disability.

The institutions will work with Enable Development, a social enterprise aimed at building low-cost technology for the disabled founded by Huy Nguyen.
Mr Nguyen, who tried software engineering and visual arts before ending up an engineer, said the high cost of assistive technology was one of the main barriers to people with disabilities being included in society.
We want to build a culture where assisted technology was more accessible and more affordable, he said. 
Mr Nguyen said he was lucky to be exeptionally well supported when attending school in the ACT, but still assistive technology had been a massive financial burden on his family.
Creative solutions required many brains. Kitsap County Deputy Scott Wilson said Monday he doubted he would be able to discuss results.
State child welfare workers removed two other children, an 8-year-old boy and 12-year-old girl, from the home earlier Monday.
About 80 searchers including dog teams looked Monday for little Jenise Wright, who was last seen Saturday night when she went to bed. She remained missing Tuesday morning. Her family noticed her missing Sunday morning but didn鈥檛 become worried and call for <a href=http://www.saclouisvuittonhomme.com>Sac Louis Vuitton Brea</a> help until that night because she had left the home on previous occasions and wandered around the neighborhood.
The family felt it was relatively safe because it鈥檚 a fenced property, Wilson said.

鈥淪he鈥檚 really independent, she鈥檚 tenacious,鈥?the little girl鈥檚 father, James Wright, told KOMO-TV, describing the neighborhood as safe and saying his daughter roamed the park.
Other residents in the park described Jenise as outgoing and unafraid to talk to anyone.

So last spring, Huff changed the way Penn State's running backs carry the ball, pointing to an study that said ballcarriers who hold the ball vertically fumble less. The transition took time and remains ongoing. But Penn State's backs enter training camp today ready to cleanse the fumbles from their memories.
When I came in, I got emails, letters and calls saying, 'These guys can't hold onto the ball?' " Huff said. "I told them, 'I don't know who those guys are.' That's over.
"Anybody can tell players to hold onto the ball. Heck, all 107,000 people in the stadium do it every Saturday. How you hold onto the ball is the question."
At Penn State, backs now call the ball, "the program." Huff brought that approach from Western , where he coached last year. Head coach P.J. Fleck wanted his backs to take ball security so seriously that "it kills you to put the program on the ground."
To prevent that, Huff asked his running backs to carry the football with the tip pointed toward their chins. Huff quoted a recent NFL study of fumbles, which noted that backs who hold the ball vertically fumble less.
Essentially, Huff said, it's difficult to dislodge a football that's being carried tight and vertically against the body. Former back learned that later in his career, curbing his fumbling tendencies by making the change.
During spring drills, Huff showed clips of backs who fumbled while not holding the ball vertically. On the field, he shouted "Chin" at them daily as a reminder of where to point the football.
Zwinak, who's four yards shy of 2,000 for his career, called the transition "weird" initially, since his muscle memory was so trained <a href=http://www.louisvuitton-pascher.com>Louis Vuitton Tivoli</a> to hold the ball a different way. But he felt more confident with the change as spring drills ended.

"There are just some things you can't get around," he said. "It's something we had to deal with, and it was definitely awkward at first, but we got into the groove of things. LinkedIn lists Ms Kamonthip as working in visa and language services before she founded the company, which advertised as specialising in surrogacy and in vitro fertilisation.

Who are the 2014-2015 Los Angeles Lakers? It s too soon to even call this a work in progress. This will obviously revolve around Kobe Bryant, but Jeremy Lin can be a vital piece of their possible success, although it does mean that Byron Scott gives <a href=http://www.louisvuitton-pascher.com>Acheter louis vuitton</a> him a shot at sometimes leading this team.
The definition of point guard doesn t matter. It s who gets to pull the strings, call the plays and have the ball in his hands that determines how this team will look. It s been a very long time that the only player with that responsibility has been Kobe Bryant, and he doesn t relinquish power or share the ball with others easily. We saw how well that attempt ended with Dwight Howard running as fast as possible out of Los Angeles.
Lin, obviously, isn t Howard. He hasn t come here to become the new face of the franchise or the future of the Lakers. He isn t going to try and play some alpha-dog games with Kobe Bryant. He s here to help this team but also give his career a boost, as it has been treading water since leaving the New York Knicks for the Houston Rockets. Obviously, he needs someone to trust <a href=http://www.louisvuitton-pascher.com/26-voyage-louis-vuitton>Voyage Louis Vuitton</a> in him the way Mike D Antoni trusted him, maybe without having any choice, back on the East Coast.

Still, Scott has coached Jason Kidd, Chris Paul and Kyrie Irving. To some extent, he has a part in the players they were under him and a bit later. Still, the strong man in all of this is Bryant, and perhaps Mitch Kupchack. That was seen when Scott was given a contract that s smaller in pay compared to rookie head coaches like Steve Kerr, David Blatt and Derek Fisher. This is a GM league, a superstar league. Head coaches without title rings find it difficult to make it their team, especially if they re not something new and refreshing.
The Lakers have the tools to make this season better than the last. They have a point guard who can keep Steve Nash rested, and provide the same passing and improved scoring compared to Kendall Marshall last season. Lin can make Carlos Boozer look like a great power forward from time to time after almost two years without a decent point guard feeding him the ball at Chicago. Lin doesn t need the spotlight, the pats on the back or the points. He just needs the ball in his hands to make others better.
And that s going to be the key making everyone play their part. For Steve <a href=http://www.louisvuitton-pascher.com/28-portefeuille-louis-vuitton>Portefeuille Louis Vuitton</a> Nash to be the backup point guard he is now. For Kobe Bryant to be a less ball dominant shooting guard, although that mostly depends on his ego. For Nick Young to remember this isn t the same injury-riddled team of last season. University graduates do not currently have to repay their loans while living overseas.

It was ''unfair'' to charge students higher fees and increased interest on their debts while not asking overseas graduates to repay their debts. ''It's a free ride,'' she said. The Grattan Institute estimated that charging overseas debtors would bring in $177 million in extra revenue over two years.

MILWAUKEE (WITI) After 13 people are shot in the last three days, city leaders in Milwaukee are speaking out on plans to curb the violence. Mayor Tom Barrett says more patrols will be out, but some are saying that s just not good enough.
What we re going to be doing this year is we re going to be very proactive. There s going to be a lot of overtime, quite honestly, and police are going to be targeting those areas where they are seeing the most activity, said Barrett.
Milwaukee County Sheriff David says the mayor and police chief should hire a minimum of 300 to 500 more officers and put <a href=http://www.louisvuittontassenkopen.com>Louis Vuitton Tassen</a> them on the streets.
