Ebola has killed more than 4,000 people in an outbreak the World Health Organization has called the most severe, acute health emergency seen in modern times. Federal health officials say they are ramping up training for medical workers who deal with the infected.

Members of the church Pham s family attends held a special Mass for her in Fort Worth on Monday night. Rev. Jim Khoi, of the Our Lady of Fatima Church, said Pham s mother told him the nurse had received a transfusion that could save her life.

Her mom says that she got the blood from the gentleman, a very good guy. I don t know his name but he s very devoted and a very good guy from somewhere, Khoi said.

Jeremy Blume, a spokesman for the nonprofit medical mission group Samaritan s Purse, confirmed that the plasma donation came from Kent Brantly, the first American to return to the U.S. from Liberia to be treated for Ebola. Brantly received an experimental treatment and fought off the virus, and has donated blood to three others, including Pham.

He s a doctor. That s what he s there to do. That s his heart, Blume said.

Brantly said in a recent speech that he also offered his blood for Duncan, but that their blood types didn t match.

Khoi said Pham s mother assured him the nurse was comfortable and doing well, and that the two women had been able to talk via Skype. She was in isolation and in stable condition, health officials said. Another unidentified person who had close contact with her has also been isolated as a precaution.

Since Pham tested positive for Ebola, public-health authorities have intensified their monitoring of other hospital workers who cared for Duncan.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Tom Frieden said he would not be surprised if more fall ill because Ebola patients become more contagious as the disease progresses.

Pham s name appears frequently throughout the hundreds of pages of medical records provided to The Associated Press by Duncan s family. They show she was in his room Oct. 7, the day before he died.

Her notes describe nurses going in and out of his room wearing protective gear to treat him and to mop the floor with bleach.

She also notes how she and other nurses ensured Duncan s privacy and comfort, and provided emotional support.

Frieden has said a breach of protocol led to the nurse s infection, but officials are not sure what went wrong. Pham has not been able to point to any specific breach.

Among the things the CDC will investigate is how the workers took off protective gear, because removing it incorrectly can lead to contamination. Investigators will also look at dialysis and intubation 鈥?the insertion of a breathing tube in a patient s airway. Both procedures have the potential to spread the virus.

Members of a Texas task force on Ebola have scheduled their first public hearing for next week. They ll develop recommendations and a comprehensive state plan to deal with emerging infectious diseases.

Officials said there was a dog in the nurse s apartment that has been removed to an undisclosed location for monitoring and care. They do not believe the pet shows any signs of Ebola. A dog belonging to an infected Spanish nurse was euthanized, drawing thousands of complaints.

Ebola has killed more than 4,000 people, mostly in the West African countries of Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.

The rocks surrounding the site where the dinosaurs were found contain tiny crystals, allowing researchers to date them. The research team believes the sediment was deposited 200.7 million years ago. During this time the area was most likely volcanically active. The period was only about one million years after the mass extinction that ended the Triassic phase. 

"These survivors of the Triassic-Jurassic mass extinction were the 'ground zero' for later theropod evolution," Thomas Holtz Jr., a vertebrate paleontologist at the University of Maryland, College Park, who was not involved in the study told Science AAS. "<The>new study] shows that important discoveries don't have to be of the biggest or the scariest <dinosaurs>." 

A creature dubbed Laquintasaura was believed to have lived in the same area at the same time as the Tachiraptor. This dinosaur had the same general appearance as the Tachiraptor, but was from a different group called ornithischians. 

"All the small dinosaurs of that era looked about the same," said  Richard Butler, a vertebrate paleontologist at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom and a member of the team that described Laquintasaura. 

These species are not believed to have grown to large sizes or evolve distinct appearances until millions of years later. In the future the researchers hope to find more fossils in this region and close up even more holes in the fossil record.

The right-back was included in Gareth Southgate's squad to face Croatia in a crucial European Championships playoff match, as the Three Lions look to qualify for next year's competition.

It is a game of high importance and Dier believes that playing in this sort of environment can help the players, but they must ensure that they qualify.

"It s good playing all of these games now, but we do it to try and play in the tournament, which is the main thing,

Any tournament is great for spirit, so going to the Under-21s Euros would be great for us. You learn a lot in tournament football so to have that experience would be good for us.

Dier was a second-half substitute in the first-leg of the tie, as England managed to claim a slender advantage in the tie.

The Three Lions came from behind to win 2-1 thanks to goals from Dier's Spurs teammate Harry Kane and West Bromwich Albion front-man Saido Berahino.

The team now travel to Croatia, where they will be looking to secure their progress by avoiding defeat and Dier insists that they won't choke under the pressure.

"We don t want to add extra pressure," he said. They re two really big games but we re treating everything the same as we did last time we prepared.

As the days get shorter, the nights get cooler and October winds make gradually barren tree limbs rattle and scrape, you know Halloween is just around the corner.
Halloween. Even the word can send a delicious chill up the spine. It's a time for pumpkin carving, candy shopping, costume planning -- and ghost story telling.
The Mississippi Gulf Coast has its share of ghost stories, from one end of the state to the other. From now until Oct. 31, the Sun Herald will tell some of those tales in the Your Life section.
Today's story takes place at the Old Brick House on Back Bay in Biloxi. It sits on property once owned by Jean Baptiste Carquotte, who received a land grant from the Spanish government in 1784, and is one of the oldest homes remaining in Biloxi. Although Hurricane Katrina severely damaged the historic home, it has been carefully restored. It might still be the home of a fellow who just can't leave the place.
Local lore says the figure of a man, dressed in the late 19th-century clothes of a gentleman, can be seen smoking a pipe on the front porch, staring out toward Back Bay, enjoying the view. Then he knocks the pipe clear and walks back inside through the unopened front door.

Derek Carr: The quarterback threw for a career-high 282 yards while becoming the only rookie since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger to throw four touchdown passes in a game. He did make a mistake in the end, when his last pass was intercepted, but he says he would take a chance on a throw like that again.
Offensive line: Carr not only was not sacked, but he wasn鈥檛 touched as the Chargers didn鈥檛 have any quarterback hits. And the five brutes up front also did a nice job of run-blocking, as the Raiders ran for a season-high 114 yards.
Tony Sparano: His team played very hard for him in his first game as interim coach and almost beat the hottest team in the NFL. If he can figure out some way to fix the defense, his team will have a chance to break its 11-game losing streak.

Russian Hill just barely eked past South Beach as the most expensive one-bedroom rental in the city, 聽The northern neighborhood came in at a median rent of $4,000 a month for a one-bedroom unit versus South Beach鈥檚 $3,995 median. (A look at what you can get for around that price is above.) However, Russian Hill may not hold the title for long: South Beach one-bedroom rents were up 5.1% between August and September 2014, whereas Russian Hill, the Marina ($3,650) and Pacific Heights ($3,600) were all flat.

Some higher-end neighborhoods actually saw rental prices decline during the same time period. Mission Bay/Dog Patch has a median price of $3,473 for a one-bedroom, but that鈥檚 an almost 3% decline. The neighborhood was down almost 8% in price per bedroom figures ($2,948 per bedroom) when all apartment sizes are taken into account鈥攖he biggest per bedroom month-over-month drop in the city.

The Castro also saw declining rents, especially amongst two-bedrooms; its $4,075 median for a two-bedroom apartment is down almost 17% month over month and the neighborhood is down 1% in per bedroom costs when all apartment sizes are taken into account. Hayes Valley was down over 6% for its one-bedrooms ($2,998) and more than 2% for its two-bedrooms ($4,395)聽but the neighborhood was up 6% in per bedroom prices overall鈥攐ne of the largest overall increases in the city鈥攊ndicating that perhaps larger units are gaining in popularity in the family-friendly area.

Other neighborhoods seem to be getting more popular with singles. Telegraph Hill one-bedrooms were up nearly 17% month over month ($3,150) while its two-bedroom listings sank 1.2% to $4,200. Civic Center鈥檚 smaller units are also on the rise: one-bedrooms are up to a median of $2,800 (a nearly 8%) increase, making it more expensive than a one-bedroom in Bernal Heights ($2,650), the Mission ($2,500) and the Lower Haight ($2,395).

Those prices are all below the median citywide for one-bedrooms, which at $3,200 a month was the highest in the nation, beating out even New York ($2,950). However, in a neighborhood-versus-neighborhood match up, the Big Apple still comes out on top. Rents in the Flatiron District, Tribeca and DUMBO all top $4,000 a month for a one-bedroom.

Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira made a surprise visit to England to lead a coaching session on Monday.

The German international is recovering from a knee injury sustained on the previous international break in September, but showed he is looking healthy on the training pitch.

Khedira was at St George's Park, Burton, the FA's official national football centre for the development of youngsters.

It is also the base for the Nike Training Academy, 'where carefully selected young players come to work on their game in pursuit of a professional contract.'

The sportswear giant were able to pull in Khedira for the session who met the youngsters personally and led the session.

Khedira's own future is in question at Real Madrid, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season. He has been linked with a transfer to Arsenal and AC Milan, able to negotiate to sign on a free transfer in January.

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Olusegun Aganga, has said that despite Nigeria being the second largest producer of steel and iron ore in Africa, yet, it imports products from steel and iron into the country every year

Speaking during the pre-commissioning visit to the cold roll mill project of Kamwire steel industries, Ilorin, at the weekend, the minister said that any country that relies entirely on exporting raw materials without having a strong industrial and related services sector would remain poor.

The minister, who said that Nigeria spends over N500 billion ($3.3 billion) every year to import items like roofing sheets, nails, rooof tiles headpans, gauze wire that are produced from steel and iron ore minerals, added that the money spent on the importation may increase from $3.3 billion to $15 billion in the next decades if necessary measures were not put in place in the nation鈥檚 industrial policy.

鈥淪o, if people like Alhaji Kamaldeen Yusuf and others do not do what they are doing, we will remain poor as a nation, our youths will not have jobs in this country.That is why it is important we all embrace industrial revolution plan and encourage industrialisation.

The minister, who said the industry presently creates more than 3,000 jobs, added that the employment capacity can multiply to 9,000, going by industrial standard and talking of the end users like housing sector.

He also described the sector as the backbone of economic or industrial development of any nation, saying the country is blessed for having one of its leading in that sector.

Dr Aganga, therefore, said the Federal Government would continue to create enabling environment for private sector to drive the economy, adding that 鈥渢hat is what we have done so far and which we need to do a little bit more鈥?

Rob Globus, whose pumpkin took second place at a mere 1,740 pounds, spent more than 600 hours with his pumpkins this year, refusing to stray far from his home in Walnut Grove (Sacramento County). The trade, he said, requires a balancing of a pumpkin鈥檚 needs.

Kit Welsh, a Half Moon Bay resident who鈥檚 attended the pumpkin weighings for more than 20 years, said she expects the pumpkins will just keep growing.

The overriding theme Monday, though, was community service, a sensitive topic given the record number of people attending the conference and the street closures around Moscone Center.

Company officials insist that its efforts this year are not a meaningless salve to make San Franciscans forget about the traffic headaches.

The billionaire Benioff and his wife, Lynne, are major benefactors to children鈥檚 hospitals in San Francisco and Oakland. Tuesday night鈥檚 benefit gala and concert in Civic Center Plaza and City Hall, headlined by singer Bruno Mars and the band Cake, are expected to raise another $8 million for the hospitals.

But this year, Dreamforce also asked top-level corporate executives attending the conference to volunteer some of their time Monday to fill bags that will be donated to local food banks. Salesforce hopes the event will inspire the executives to start their own food drives to help the 1 in 8 people worldwide who struggle with hunger.

Benioff set a goal to collect enough food and donations to feed 1 million people. Self-help coach and motivational speaker Tony Robbins, who joined Benioff at the conference kickoff, pledged to match the financial cost of feeding 1 million people.

On Tuesday, Dreamforce participants will also stuff 5,000 bags with flash cards, calculators and books for early childhood education. The foundation last month, and has invited about 100 schoolchildren to watch a keynote address by Hillary Rodham Clinton and World Economic Forum founder Klaus Schwab.

Also for the first time, Dreamforce has taken over one hotel to host 80 sessions designed expressly for the 7,000 attendees who are from nonprofit and nongovernmental organizations.

On Wednesday, Dreamforce organizers will take corporate executives on helicopter rides over the Bay Area as part of a goal to get 500 employers to hire military veterans.

With the chopper rides, staffed by vets, and a panel discussion about veterans, 鈥淲e really want to get our attendees thinking bigger about how they can hire veterans,鈥?DiBianca said.

According to Daily Express, lead author Dr Matthew Pase, from the Swinburne University of Technology, Australia, said that though such juices have essential vitamins, they also contain lots of sugar, which can be harmful for a person's health. 

"Thus, frequent fruit juice consumption may be contributing to excessive sugar intake, typical of the Western population, exacerbating the prevalence of hyper-tension (high blood pressure) and cardio-vascular disease," said Pase, according to . 

For the study, researchers examined the associated between fruit juice consumption and high blood pressure in 160 individuals over one year. 

"Habitual fruit juice consumption was measured using a 12 month dietary recall questionnaire. On the same day, brachial BP was measured and central (aortic) BP was estimated through radial artery applanation. Frequency of fruit juice consumption was classified as rare, occasional or daily," authors wrote in the of their study. 

The findings of the study have been published in the journal Appetite.

The authorities of the University of Ilorin ,have said that 48 graduates of the institution will bag First Class during this year鈥檚 30th convocation ceremonies taking place between Monday, October 20, and Thursday, October 23.

A statement signed by the institution鈥檚 Deputy Director, Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, and made available to journalists in Ilorin, on Sunday ,indicated that the 48 First Class graduates of the institution are among the 5,421 graduates, who will be receiving their first degrees in various disciplines at this year鈥檚 convocation.

Akogun explained that a total of 1,190 are graduating with the Second Class Upper degree; 2,814 graduates will be awarded the Second Class Lower degree, while a total of 1,068 will bag the Third Class degree and 84 will get the Pass grade.

鈥淭o convoke also are 18 Diploma graduates, 642 Masters degree, 106 Ph.D and 142 Postgraduate Diploma graduates.

鈥淎 further breakdown of the performance of the graduates shows that 12 of the First Class graduates are from the Faculty of Engineering; 11 are from the Faculty of Physical Sciences; nine from the Faculty of Life Sciences; six from the Faculty of Agriculture and five from the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences. The Faculty of Management Sciences produced two First Class graduates this year, while the Faculties of Arts, Basic Medical Sciences and Education ,produced one First Class graduate each.

鈥淭he Faculty of Education is producing the highest number of graduating students this year with a total of 1,640, followed by the Faculty of Physical Sciences (694), Faculty of Arts (627), Faculty of Life Sciences (491), Faculty of Social Sciences (431) and the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (299).

鈥淥thers are: the Faculty of Management Sciences (254), Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences (238), the Faculty of Agriculture (224), the Faculty of Clinical Sciences (217), the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences (168), and the faculty of Law (156).

鈥淚n the postgraduate category, the Faculty of Management Sciences will issue 147 higher degrees, made up of 66 postgraduate Diplomas, 77 Masters degrees and four Ph.Ds. This is followed by the Faculty of Physical Sciences with 145 higher degrees, consisting 18 postgraduate Diplomas, 104 Masters degrees and 23 Ph.Ds. The Faculty of Arts is issuing 122 higher degrees, made up of 102 Masters degrees and 20 Ph.Ds while the Faculty of Education will present 121 graduands for higher degrees.

鈥淥thers are: the Faculty of Life Sciences, 89 higher degrees; the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences, 70; the Faculties of Agriculture and Law, 50 each; the Faculty of Social Sciences, 42; the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, 31; and the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, 23.

Meanwhile, activities marking the 30th convocation ceremonies of the University of Ilorin will kick off on Friday ,with a special Juma鈥檃t service at the University Central Mosque at 1.30a.m.

Releasing the programme of events at the weekend, the Registrar, . Emmanuel Dada Obafemi, said that a Special Church Service to commemorate the commencement of the 2013/2014 convocation ceremonies, would also hold on Sunday, October 19, at the Catholic Chaplaincy, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, University of Ilorin at 9.30a.m.

Other events for the ceremony, according to Obafemi, included the Vice-Chancellor鈥檚 press briefing, which comes up on Monday, October 20, 2014 at the University Main Auditorium by 10.00a.m. The convocation play, entitled 鈥淭he Killers鈥?(An anti-violence play) and written by Dr. A. A. Adeoye, will be staged at 4.00p.m. and 6.00p.m. on the same Monday at the Performing Arts Theatre. 

The Convocation Lecture, entitled 鈥淚nnovation: A Trans-disciplinary Approach鈥? will be delivered on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 by Prof. Dzulkifli Abdul Rasak, the President, International Association of Universities. The lecture takes place at the University Main Auditorium at 10.00a.m.

Also on Tuesday, the Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Benjamin Ikenchuku, the Dein of Agbor, will host a cocktail in honour of the Convocation Lecturer at the Chancellor鈥檚 Lodge by 6.00p.m.

Outgoing Ekiti State governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, on Sunday, said the in-coming government of Mr Ayo Fayose needed prayers.

Fayemi, who spoke at St. Patrick鈥檚 Catholic Cathedral, Ado-Ekit, on Sunday, at a Mass to mark the end of his tenure, said such prayers were needed for the new government to be able to achieve lasting peace for the state.

This is coming just as eminent Nigerians, including Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, Oyo State governor, Aboila Ajimobi, Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, national chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, as well as former Ekiti State governor, Chief Segun Oni among several others, stormed Ado-Ekiti in his honour.

He told the congregation that his government had been able to create culture of peace in the mind of the people of Ekiti, in its four years tenure and that the new government would require prayers to be able to sustain the current peace.

Fayemi said contrary to impression in some quarters, most political appointees in his cabinet were going back to their former places of work as poorer persons.

According to him, only God could compensate such appointees better than they ever can imagine since not many people appreciate their sacrifice and contributions to the growth of the state in last four years.

He said most of his appointees that accepted to serve the state left their plum jobs to contribute their quota in the interest of all.

The outgoing governor said he had put all negative events of recent past behind him, saying whoever that think he, (Fayemi) was finished, was deceiving himself, using the Yoruba version of a popular juju musician, Chief Ebenezer Obey鈥檚鈥漺on se b鈥檕la ti tan, ola otan, ola ku seyin鈥?to support his claim .

Bishop of the Ekiti State Diocese of Catholic Church, Most Reverend Felix Ajakaiye, who presided over the church service, commended the governor for his efforts at developing the state.

He enjoined the people of the state to avoid politics of acrimony but see themselves as brothers pursuing a common goal.

His words of exortations were corroborated by that of Nobel Laurel, Professor Wole Soyinka who later declared open, the new Governor鈥檚 Lodge built by the administraton of Governor Fayemi as part of the anniversary.

Johnny Miller, the NBC analyst who moonlights as part owner of the Napa resort, is already eyeing the encore. Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy are expected to play in next year鈥檚 tournament, which changes pretty much everything.

DALLAS Police in suburban Dallas say Cowboys running back Joseph Randle has been arrested after taking underwear and cologne from a mall department store without paying.
Frisco Police Sgt. Brad Merritt says Randle is charged with Class B misdemeanor theft. He was detained Monday evening by store security before being arrested and booked into the Frisco city jail. Merritt says Randle posted bond early Tuesday.

Cut to a scene on a ranch where a frantic woman runs yelling, "Jesse, don't go!"

"I'm sorry, Daisy," he says. "But I'm a loner, and a loner's got to be alone."

He rides off on his horse, as she wails, but then suddenly there's a sound like a gunshot and he falls off his horse.

WTF? Who shot him? What did this have to do with "Words really can hurt you"? Some kind of cosmic payback for hurting her with his words? Every time I stupidly found himself watching the dopey thing again, I knew I must be missing something.

Then it hit me.

(Reminds me of a T-shirt I saw: "I wondered why the baseball was getting bigger, then it hit me.") 

If you haven't seen the ad, watch it first, to see if you get the joke.

For those still similarly stymied, let's spell things out step by step.

First, Jessie is riding off.

As he rides, the words "THE END" fade in across the screen.

"THE END" gets more, well, "solid," as Jesse's head is clearly positioned in front of the "E" in "END."

Then Jesse apparently smacks his head on the letter "E." (Could be "THE END" for Jesse, too.)

And that's how words can hurt you.

I had mistakenly regarded the words "THE END" as irrevelant, and now I almost find the joke hilarious.

More of a "BOING" sound and letters that shook more would have helped. Or maybe the "E" could have cracked.

Another mystery of life solved.

Kent has already impressed in the UEFA Youth League this season, providing assists in consecutive matches against Ludogorets Razgrad and FC Basel, while he has also got on the score-sheet himself for the under-21s against West Ham United.

While he made waves as a forward in the 2013 Milk Cup, more recently he has operated as a left-winger, and that flexibility could make him a fantastic addition to future Liverpool first-team squads.

LAS VEGAS (AP) 鈥?Former heavyweight champion Leon Spinks is in a Las Vegas hospital after a second operation for abdominal problems.
The 61-year-old boxer, who catapulted to fame by beating Muhammad Ali in 1978, had the second surgery in recent days after complications from the first emergency surgery, his wife said.
It s going to be a long road ahead, but he s strong and he s starting to recover, Brenda Spinks told The Associated Press.
Brenda Spinks said she doesn t know how long her husband will be hospitalized, but that she s optimistic about his recovery.
There were complications after his first surgery, but everything has been fixed, she said.
Earlier, singer Tony Orlando sent out a tweet asking people to pray for Spinks, a good friend of his. Orlando wrote that Spinks was facing the greatest fight of his life.
Spinks and younger brother Michael both won Olympic gold medals in 1976 in different weight classes and went on to become heavyweight champions. Leon s rise was meteoric 鈥?he got a shot at Ali and the heavyweight title on Feb. 15, 1978, after just seven pro fights.
Few in boxing 鈥?including Ali 鈥?gave Spinks any chance in the fight, but he used his energy and awkward style to frustrate Ali and win a 15-round split decision at the Las Vegas Hilton. But he lost the title back to Ali in their rematch seven months later before more than 60,000 people at the Superdome in New Orleans.
Ali thought I was a wimp and I had to prove to him I wasn t, Spinks said recently. I knew I could beat him after watching his fights.
Spinks would get one more chance at the title in 1981 against Larry Holmes, only to be stopped in the third round. He would never become the heavyweight champion again but fought until 1995, finishing with a career mark of 26-17-3.
Spinks was known to mix partying with training, and quickly burned through the big money he made early in his career. He would later move to Nebraska, where he worked as a custodian at a YMCA before moving to Las Vegas in 2011.
Spinks, who has slurred his words since his active boxing days, was diagnosed in 2012 with shrinkage in his brain, which doctors said was likely caused by the punches he took during his career.
My brain has got to let me know I m doing all right and I ve got to do things to help my brain now, Spinks said after the diagnosis.
Michael Spinks upset Holmes for the heavyweight title in 1985 and fought Mike Tyson in a title showdown three years later. FOLLOWING the habitual outflow of patients outside the country to receive medical, the Federal Government has disclosed plans to initiate policies stopping the outflow of government officials out of the country for medical reasons.

Minister of Health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu, said the Federal Government intended achieving this through the unveiling of the first exhibition of healthcare facilities at the Nigeria Hospitals Exhibition and Fair 2014.

The minister, who spoke in Abuja on Monday at a briefing on the Nigeria Hospitals Exhibition and Fair 2014 and WHO certification, also formally confirmed the certification of three additional Nigerian pharmaceutical manufacturers by the WHO.

Speaking on the policy, which he said would not breach the fundamental human rights, stated that before officials could be flown outside the country, the minister must have verified that 鈥渇acilities required to treat such person(s) is not available in the country.鈥?

Redfearn was instilled as one of the bookies' favourites to take over at York, but it seems that he will continue with his job at .

Redfearn's stock had risen after an impressive spell as caretaker boss at Elland Road and it led to York reportedly being interested.

However, the Minstermen appear to be looking elsewhere leaving Redfearn to continue as head of the club's academy.

It is sure to be pleasing news for Leeds supporters, who value Redfearn highly. Indeed, he has been touted as a future manager of the Elland Road outfit, after his last temporary spell in charge.

Redfearn collected 10 points from the 12 available to him before he was replaced by Darko Milanic. 

York, meanwhile, are still looking elsewhere for their new boss after parting with Nigel Worthington this week and club communication's manager Sophie Hicks that an appointment will be made soon.

She said: "We spoke to some people (on Monday) and talks will continue (on Tuesday).

"We're hoping to bring the new manager in before this weekend's game against Shrewsbury.

"We've been encouraged by the number of people who have applied for the job, the calibre is very good.

"Whoever it is has to be right for us. They need the relevant experience in this league, they have to be straightforward, hard-working and able to build a good relationship with us."

"It's with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Mark Bell of LFO who died last week from complications after an operation. Mark's family friends request privacy at this difficult time," Warp wrote in a statement. 

Bell and Gez Varley founded LFO in 1988. The group released three albums from 1991 to 2003 and had several top singles including "LFO," "We Are Back," and "What Is House." Varley left the group in 1996 leaving Bell to carry on alone. As a producer, Bell has worked with artists like Bj rk and Depeche Mode. 

Detroit techno producer Claude Young told Beatportal that Bell was an "amazing producer" and "an extremely pleasant guy to be around. 

"His early work along with Gez Varley as LFO inspired all of us in Detroit back in the day," Young added. "We never heard anything like it, the music was impressive and futuristic. It pushed all of us to try harder and to go further with sound. And his later solo work are blueprints for modern day techno. I feel like we lost another brother today."

Nigeria鈥檚 money transfer business landscape entered a new phase as the United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc and MoneyGram launched  outbound money transfers in Nigeria.

The newly launched MoneyGram service allows Nigerians to send money abroad through any UBA branch in Nigeria or Africa, while the funds are received in dollar or the currency of the receiving country.

With this service, Nigerians can now send money to countries like the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States of America (USA) from Nigeria. The Nigerian, for instance, will send money in naira, the person receiving in the UK or the USA will receive it in pounds or dollars. 

The outbound money transfer service allows Nigerians to send money in naira to over 200 countries around the world by simply working into any UBA branch in Nigeria or in the 18 other African countries where UBA has operations outside Nigeria or through any other MoneyGram Agent Bank.

The launch event, which held at UBA鈥檚 head office in Marina, Lagos, was hosted by UBA鈥檚 Group Managing Director (GMD)/CEO, Phillips Oduoza, who had a live demonstration of how the service will work by sending money from Nigeria to Ghana.

He sent naira, which was received in real time in Ghana Cedis by the CEO of UBA Ghana. The transaction was witnessed by the media and other assembled guests both in Ghana and Nigeria via video link.

Manchester United player scored a hat-trick for the club s under-18s on Saturday, as they overcame Blackburn Rovers 4-1.

United s other goal came from Joe Riley but it was Rathbone who stole the show, and the player who signed as an under-17 Academy student little over a year ago looks like he is well on the way to becoming a success at Old Trafford.

Of course it is early days, but Rathbone is certainly making a good impression and the diminutive midfielder will be hoping to continue making headlines in the weeks and months to come.

Demetri Mitchell was no doubt getting used to being the goal-scoring hero for the young United side this season, but for once the England under-17 international was outshone by Rathbone.

A hat-trick from a player for whom goal-scoring is not the primary purpose is not bad at all, and there could be much better to come.

The top financial brass from the Treasuries and central banks of Britain and the US are to take part in a war game, behind closed doors in Washington on Monday, to test how they would handle another -style banking crisis .

Six years after the financial earthquake that led to the multibillion-pound taxpayer bailouts of Royal Bank of Scotland and Lloyds Banking Group, the most senior policymakers from both sides of the Atlantic will try to find out whether they are now any better prepared for the collapse of a bank deemed too big to fail.

The chancellor, George Osborne, and Mark Carney, the governor of the Bank of England, will stay on at the end of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank to head the UK team in the exercise, which is to be held at the offices of the Federal Deposit Insurance Commission the organisation that guarantees US bank deposits.

They will be joined by 11 others, including the chairman of the Federal Reserve, Janet Yellen, the US treasury secretary, Jack Lew, and regulators from Britain and America, for a test of how the authorities would respond to two possible scenarios the collapse of an American bank with UK operations and the failure of a British bank with operations in the US.

Although the war game will not be based on any specific institution, UK banks with operations in the US include Barclays and HSBC, while US investment banks such as Goldman Sachs and Bank of America have a big presence in the City.

Osborne said it was the first time a war game had been conducted at such a senior level. We will work through how we would respond to the failure of a cross-border firm. We are going to make sure we could handle an institution previously regarded as too big to fail, he said.

The decision by the US authorities to let Lehman collapse in September 2008 set off a chain reaction in financial markets that was only halted when governments around the world stepped in with taxpayers cash to recapitalise banks seen as at risk.

Monday s game will involve the collapse of a single bank rather than the sort of systemic failure threatened in 2008. But Osborne said lessons had been learned from 2008, with policymakers now having options they lacked then.

The chancellor said he needed to be sure the government was better prepared for what s thrown at us and better prepared to protect taxpayers than the previous administration in the UK was .

The last Labour government pumped more than 65bn into RBS and Lloyds in October 2008 but Osborne said enormous progress had been making on tackling the too-big-to-fail problem since then.

The war game is designed to stress-test the new domestic and global rules for regulating and supervising banks devised since 2008.

In the UK, the government has handed new watchdog powers to the City, ring-fenced the retail operations of banks from their investment arms and forced banks to hold more capital. At the global level, the Financial Stability Board, chaired by Carney, has been seeking to ensure financial regulation is consistent across borders.

Osborne said: In 2008, the judgment of my predecessor and others was that banks like RBS were too big to fail. I want to make sure that either myself or my successors in this job would have real options and would avoid bailing in the taxpayer. I m pretty confident that is the case.

The chancellor said Monday s event would try to pack into a morning a crisis that would unfold over several days.

No war game is like war itself, Osborne said. But it means we will be far better prepared. I m sure this is not the last time this will happen. Monday s war game will take place after the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund in Washington in which the risk of a fresh recession in the euro zone has been a dominant theme.

Osborne said the problems of the euro zone posed the biggest threat to the world and UK economies and admitted that Britain was not immune to the deteriorating outlook for its biggest trading partner.

This is a critical moment for the British economy and the world economy , the chancellor said. Serious clouds are gathering on the horizon .

Osborne made it clear that he expected UK growth to slow as a result of its exposure to the euro zone. There are risks to Britain s growth from the euro zone and we are seeing some of them materialise , he said.

The chancellor said that the euro zone finance ministers and central bank governors knew they were under the microscope in Washington. They know they have some questions to answer.

Mississippi's defense is forcing turnovers and scoring points.
Safety Cody Prewitt says the unit is relentless and stingy and it's hard to argue with him now that it's helped the No. 3 Rebels improve to 6-0 for the first time since 1962.
Mississippi returned an interception and a fumble for a touchdown in its first win over Texas A&M on Saturday night. The opportunistic group has forced at least one turnover in 29 straight games the second-best streak in the FBS.
"Our defense I couldn't be more proud of the staff and the kids and how they're playing," coach Hugh Freeze said.
The Rebels had two interceptions against the Aggies to give the team 12 this season, which is the most in the SEC and is tied for tops in the nation. They've returned three of those interceptions for touchdowns, also tied for first in the country.
Texas A&M entered Saturday's game averaging the third-most points in the nation at 47.8. But the Mississippi defense held the Aggies to just 20 points, which was their lowest score since finishing with 10 in a loss to LSU last year.
The Aggies were shut out in the first half against Mississippi, marking the first time in coach Kevin Sumlin's head coaching career that his team hadn't scored before halftime.
Mississippi's starting defense had allowed just one touchdown this season before Saturday night. They gave up three to the Aggies, but Freeze was quick to point out that they shouldn't be blamed for all those scores.
"We stressed them (Saturday) in the second half because we didn't stay on the field enough," Freeze said. "The offense will take some blame for that."
Quarterback Bo Wallace agreed.
"We've got to get better at giving our defense a rest," Wallace said. "When they're out there getting stops, we've got to do a better job of helping them out."
Prewitt had an interception return for a touchdown against the Aggies for the 11th interception of his career and Keith Lewis scored his first career touchdown on a 21-yard fumble return. The defense also got a big game from sophomore linebacker Tony Conner, who finished with a career-high 11 tackles and leads the team with 36 tackles this season. Freshman defensive end Marquis Haynes has led the pass rush, had two sacks against the Aggies and has a team-leading four this season.
The Rebels are one of six remaining undefeated teams and they know that things are only going to get tougher the longer they remain perfect.
"The more games we win, the bigger the target gets for us and we just have to do a good job of focusing on the task and each team," linebacker Denzel Nkemdiche said.
This week they host Tennessee before a trip to LSU. The Volunteers are winless in conference play and rank second to last in total yardage and points a game.
There was some talk on Saturday night about whether Ole Miss deserves to be ranked No. 1 after two straight wins over top-15 opponents. But they stayed ranked No. 3 while in-state rival Mississippi State, which is the only other undefeated team in the SEC, moved up to the top spot.
That doesn't matter to Freeze and the Rebels, though.
"I'll tell our team (Saturday), no poll, no media gets to decide for us how we define ourselves," Freeze said. "We could lose every game left on our schedule probably with the league we play in. There is an insidious menace slowly creeping into our nation's coffee shops, bars, and grocery store aisles, bringing with it a wave of pumpkin spiced basic behavior that only one man can dream of combatting. John Oliver, please, save us. 

Luckily, Oliver has heeded the calls of a nation in peril, taking to his Last Week Tonight web exclusive last night to let us know of the evil that is the pumpkin spice trend a flavor he calls "eggnog for morning people." Unfortunately, though, we may have reached terminal levels of the fall treat. 

"It's kind of like how everyone you meet calls themselves a DJ all of a sudden," Oliver said. "But what they really mean is that they own an iPad and have been to a party." 

True, but that's odd considering that virtually no one orders pumpkin spiced anything outside of October and November. Consider, for example, the noble pumpkin pie what Oliver calls "the most seasonal food there is."

"It is only good from the moment Thanksgiving ends until just after you've taken your first bite of it," he added.

With that in mind, there are several fall flavors that might be a little more appropriate. Or, ones that Oliver says he'd rather drink thank pumpkin spice, anyway: 

A "cableknit sweater-spice" latte
A "Major League Baseball-spice" latte
A "keen awareness of my own mortality-spice" latte (because that's what foliage is)
But why, then, do we seem to go pumpkin spice crazy with better (and funnier) options out there? Well, we just love the autumn months and for a very specific reason, too.

"We tolerate pumpkin spice because we like the fall. It's the best season because you get to stop thinking about how weird your legs look in shorts. That's everyone, right?"

The two had gone for a haunted hayride called The Gauntlet in Mechanic Falls on Saturday when the Jeep pulling a trailer filled with passengers lost control, hit a tree and overturned, sending 22 people to the hospital. Police described Garland as seriously injured, and he was listed in fair condition at Boston Children s Hospital on Sunday. The accident has deeply impacted members of the school community and larger community, who have already begun to show their support for the families through social media and fundraising as well as thoughts and prayers.

Our hearts, the hearts of the administrators, staff and community, go out to all the folks that were involved in this, said Gary Smith, superintendent for Oakland-based Regional School Unit 18, on Sunday. We re with them and we grieve with them.

Several Messalonskee girls soccer teammates of Cassidy Charette gathered at the pitch on Sunday for a brief moment of silence. Meanwhile, students and friends showed their support on social media with the phrase Messalonskee Strong.

The families of Cassidy Charette and Connor Garland declined to comment as did the family of another Messalonskee student who was also on the hayride and suffered less severe injuries.

Tom Bell, president of Central Maine Babe Ruth Baseball and Garland s baseball coach for the last seven years, said he and his son, Sam Bell, saw the news of the hayride accident on the news Sunday morning but didn t realize right away that anyone from the Oakland area had been on the ride.

He s been a key part of our team for the last few years, said Bell of Garland. It s going to be difficult because his girlfriend was the one who died. They were down there together. We don t know many details of what happened, but we do know he is down in Boston right now.

Parents of the Central Maine Owls, the Babe Ruth team, have begun fundraising efforts to help support the family while they stay in Boston, said Bell, whose son is in the junior class along with Charette and Garland.

Sam Bell, who was playing two hockey games on Sunday and was checking his phone for updates on Garland s condition in between, said he had planned to go visit his friend in the hospital, but right now only family are being allowed to visit.

A Facebook group called that was providing updates on the accident on Sunday said that Garland was expected to undergo surgery on his jaw sometime in the next few days and that he had broken part of his back, but that the injuries were not life-threatening. The group, which had 220 members by around 6 p.m. Sunday, was also trying to raise money for the Garland family.

I didn t really know her on a personal level, but I know that she was really nice, smart and athletic, said Sam Bell, 15, of Charette. I definitely feel bad for him. I m here for him and the families are in my prayers.

The accident came just one day after members of the school community attended a funeral in memory of high school senior Nora Birch, who died by suicide on Sept. 30.

Classes are not being held on Monday because of the Columbus Day holiday, but the school will be open and counselors will be available from 9 a.m. to noon and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the high school library. Mental health professionals will also be available to students throughout the week, according to a letter that was sent to parents by Principal Jon Moody on Sunday. After Sunday's game, Forriest Jr. was packing up his car to leave when a group of people appeared and started to dance around him. Since he had taken off his prosthetic leg earlier in the day due to pain, it was placed on the back of his motorized wheelchair. 

"There were some friends who were partying with the leg, then they put it back," Forriest Jr. said. 

Unexpectedly, an intoxicated woman in Eagles gear approached him and jumped on his lap, breaking his microphone in the process, he told . The woman, who appeared to be in her 20s, then grabbed the prosthetic leg and took off. 

"She jumped in my lap," Forriest Jr. said. "She gripped my leg and I didn't even know it. I looked down and she took my leg! Then she disappeared! A young lady came up, snatched my leg off my chair and took off!" 

"She said, 'I will pay you for (the microphone).' I said, 'That's all right, baby, go ahead and have a good time,' and then she disappeared," he added. 

After Forriest Jr. filed a police report, the prosthetic leg was discovered by a SEPTA conductor on the train at the other end of the Broad Street Line Subway at the Fern Rock Transportation Center in Olney,  reported. 

The police returned the leg back to Forriest Jr., who said he didn't want to the woman to get into any kind of trouble due to the incident. 

"Somebody needs to talk to her, she don't need to go to jail." 

Meanwhile, "this isn't the first time  have ended up in the news for odd behavior. In fact, city officials  in the old Eagles' stadium in the late 1990s just to sentence unruly fans,"  reported.

Dann arrived at Ewood Park in 2011, and, whilst he made 28 appearances for Rovers in his first season, he suffered the ignominy of relegation from the Premier League under Steve Kean in 2012. Following the relegation, he cemented himself as a key part of the first-team squad, rising to the position of captain in 2013, and he admitted that leaving Rovers was a hard decision, with the Premier League looking unlikely last season.

I enjoyed my time there, I was captain, so to leave a big club like Blackburn is never easy.

I wanted to play in the Premier League and at the time it didn t seem like we were going to get there last season.

I don t think anyone will blame me for leaving and going to play back in the Premier League.

SEATTLE -- Those questioning whether the Dallas Cowboys' start to the season was legit got a resounding answer on Sunday.
Showing no intimidation toward Seattle's hard-hitting defense or the noisy 12th Man, the Cowboys leaned on the 115 yards rushing from DeMarco Murray and a clutch third-down pass from Tony Romo for a 30-23 win over the Seahawks.
After Murray scored on a 15-yard run with 3:16 left to give Dallas the lead, the Cowboys defense, which made Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson miserable all afternoon, held twice in the final 3 minutes.
The Cowboys forced Seattle to turn the ball over on downs. After Dan Bailey's third field goal pushed the lead to seven, Rolando McClain intercepted Wilson near midfield with less than a minute remaining to seal one of the more impressive Dallas wins in recent memory.
The Cowboys are 5-1 for the first time since 2007 and beating the defending champions in Seattle gives validity to the surprising start.
Murray became the second running back in NFL history to start a season with six straight 100-yard rushing games, matching Jim Brown. And he did it against the league's best run defense, which had not allowed a running back more than 38 yards in a game this season.
Dallas' improved offensive line opened enough space for Murray to run and for the most part kept Romo protected. Romo was sacked
only once, and bounced up off the turf from the one hard hit he took from Bobby Wagner on the Cowboys first drive.
And when Romo got pressured on Dallas' winning touchdown, Terrance Williams made a stunning toe-dragging catch along the sideline for 23 yards to convert a third-and-20. Romo moved away from pressure by Bruce Irvin and found Williams along the sideline in front of the Cowboys bench for 23 yards.
Murray then broke free for 25 yards and a 6-yard run to the Seattle 15. He then capped his record day by cutting back and rolling through Earl Thomas at the goal line.
Romo finished 21 of 32 for 250 yards and two touchdowns. The second TD throw went to Jason Witten, who became the second tight end in NFL history with 900 career receptions.
Wilson ran for a 9-yard touchdown and Mike Morgan returned a blocked punt 25 yards for a score for Seattle. But after being lauded for his Monday night performance, Wilson was part of a miserable day for Seattle's offense.
He finished 14 of 28 for 126 yards, 53 of those coming on one completion to Jermaine Kearse in the first quarter. Seattle was outgained 401-206 and had just nine first downs. Marshawn Lynch was used sparingly, finishing with only 10 carries for 61 yards and most of Percy Harvin's plays went backward. Harvin's three receptions equaled minus-1 yard.

About half the people who contract the virus die, and there are no approved treatments, although several are being tested.
Kaiser training nurses
Adler said UCSF plans to strengthen protocols by conducting hands-on training for front-line workers on the use of personal protective equipment, which includes gloves, fluid-resistant gowns, goggles and face masks designed to prevent transmission. 鈥淚t may not be enough to just provide verbal training,鈥?he said. 鈥淲e may have to observe people putting on and taking off protective gear, and ensuring they can do it right every time.鈥?
Officials from , one of the state鈥檚 largest health care providers, said they began Monday to train nurses and staff assigned to emergency departments, outpatient medical offices and call centers on the best ways to handle suspected Ebola cases.
Dr. , an infectious disease specialist at Kaiser and director of hospital operations for Northern California Kaiser facilities, said in a statement that an instructional video demonstrating the use of personal protective equipment, including how to get it on and off, will be issued Tuesday.
Still, some registered nurses say hospitals aren鈥檛 doing enough to protect caregivers.
Eighty-five percent of nurses said their hospitals have given them no specific training on dealing with the virus, according to survey results released Monday by National Nurses United of more than 2,100 registered nurses across 46 states and the District of Columbia.
鈥淭hose are alarming statistics about what鈥檚 happening across the country,鈥?said , a registered nurse at Kaiser鈥檚 and board member of the .
The nurses say that the standard protection health workers are now getting is inadequate. They want assurances that they will be provided top-grade hazardous material suits, such as those used for dealing with highly contaminated chemicals, and they want hands-on training because verbal or written training will not do.
'Fueling fear鈥?
, spokeswoman for the , fired back Monday, accusing the union of 鈥渇ueling fear among the public.鈥?She said hospitals and their staff are prepared to screen and treat patients with Ebola and other infectious diseases.
Any changes in protocols that need to be made will come from the , she said. 鈥淲e are looking to the experts at the federal level who have more knowledge than any of us, including the labor unions,鈥?she said.
Emerson-Shea also noted that more needs to be known about exactly how the nurse in Dallas, identified Monday as , contracted the disease. CDC Director faced some criticism for blaming the infection on a 鈥減rotocol breach,鈥?in essence blaming the nurse, when it鈥檚 still unclear how she contracted the disease. CDC officials are investigating.
The CDC鈥檚 checklist instructing health workers how to put on and take off personal protective gear in infectious disease cases is 29 items long and available on the agency鈥檚 website.
Only four U.S. hospitals are designed specifically to deal with highly infectious diseases such as Ebola. They are in Atlanta, the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, in Maryland and Rocky Mountain Laboratories in Montana. But most acute-care hospitals in the U.S. have negative-pressure isolation rooms for highly infectious disease cases.
But six patients have been treated for Ebola in the U.S., excluding the most recent case. The only one not treated at one of the four specialized units was Liberian patient , the only one to die.
'We have more work to do鈥?
UCSF鈥檚 Adler noted that those specialized hospitals have entirely separate isolation units that make it easier to treat infected patients. But Adler said he expects the negative pressure or isolation rooms in most acute-care hospitals to be sufficient.
Still, while hospitals may be on the front lines, they鈥檙e not the only way an infected Ebola patient may seek treatment.
鈥淧atients may not necessarily go to the hospital. They may go to doctor offices or a walk-in clinic,鈥?he said.
If that happens, no matter how much a hospital is prepared for an Ebola case, it may not matter.
鈥淲e have more work to do to prepare for that,鈥?he said.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) 鈥?Less than a week after she admitted to a sham marriage, Oregon Gov. 's fiancee said late Monday that she lived in 1997 on a property that was intended to be used for a marijuana growing operation.
Cylvia Hayes issued a statement saying the marijuana grow operation "never materialized" on the property in Okanogan, Washington, a remote community near the Canadian border, although the man who sold the property says he found evidence that it did.
"I am not proud of that brief period of time," Hayes said after receiving inquiries from KOIN-TV. "I was involved in an abusive relationship with a dangerous man."
Hayes said last week that she was paid to enter a fraudulent marriage to help an immigrant remain in the United States, also in 1997. She's also under fire for earning money from organizations seeking to influence state policy.
Hayes said she was never financially involved in the marijuana grow, and shortly after moving there "began to make plans to get away." She moved to Oregon in July 1998.
"I did not pay any part of the down payment or mortgage payments. I had no money. The money I had received in July 1997 for entering a fraudulent marriage was used as I have previously stated 鈥?to purchase a laptop and pay school expenses."
A real estate broker who owned the property before selling to Hayes and a man told The Oregonian and KOIN that he found trimmings of marijuana plants. said he did not see marijuana plants but found fertilizer and irrigation tubing that he considered evidence of a grow.
"He was not the leader," Siemion said of the man with Hayes in an interview with The Oregonian. "The leader was her. She did all the talking, all the negotiating. I remember her saying, 'Oh this is just the perfect place, we're so happy to have it.'"
Hayes got engaged over the summer to Kitzhaber, the Democratic governor who is seeking a fourth term in next month's election.
Kitzhaber's Republican rival, state Rep. , has tried to keep the focus on Hayes' consulting work, arguing that Hayes' outside work is part of a pattern of missteps that show Kitzhaber's administration is "inept and unethical."
Kitzhaber on Monday asked a state commission for a formal opinion on whether Hayes is subject to state ethics laws and, if so, whether she's broken them.
Kitzhaber says his office has taken care to make sure that Hayes' consulting work doesn't pose a conflict of interest, including proactively reviewing her contracts before she agreed to work. But all three contracts made public by the governor's office were reviewed only after they went into effect.
A decision by the is unlikely to come before the election. The commission can take up to 120 days to respond, and there are no scheduled meetings before the Nov. 4 election.
Before Kitzhaber was elected governor, Hayes ran a consulting business, 3E Strategies, that worked on renewable energy issues. As first lady, she's taken a public and active role, advising the governor on energy policy while advocating programs that reduce hunger and poverty. She's uncompensated and has continued her outside consulting.
The governor's office has released copies of three contracts from 2013 worth nearly $86,000, along with draft and final conflict disclosure forms. The drafts, dated in July 2013, suggest Hayes couldn't use her first lady title in her consulting work or any state facilities, including Mahonia Hall, the governor's official residence.
But the final versions of the documents include exceptions, allowing Hayes to call herself first lady in "a biographical profile" and use Mahonia Hall for meetings on contracts already obtained.

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Brazil coach Dunga has made a perfect start to his second stint in charge of the national side and Tuesday s friendly win over Japan offered him plenty of reasons to feel that July s World Cup nightmare could soon be forgotten.

As hosts, Felipe Scolari s side bullied their way through to the semi-finals before a 7-1 humiliation to Germany cost the coach his job and left many observers believing the rebuilding job would be a long and painful process.

Dunga, who led the side from 2006-10, was handed the task of restoring respectability for the five-times World Cup winners and his spotless record in four matches since taking over and the form of mercurial forward Neymar suggests Brazil are already on an upward trajectory.

Neymar was brilliant in Singapore on Tuesday, wowing a pro-Brazil crowd of 51,577 as he revelled in a free-roaming role to score all four goals in a 4-0 thrashing for a dominant Brazil side that exuded confidence from the kickoff.

I tinkered with the lineup today as I wanted to see how we played without a striker in the second half, Dunga told reporters, having already beaten arch-rivals Argentina 2-0 in a Beijing friendly on Saturday.

I did this because Neymar picked up a cold after the match in China and I thought it would be better to give him freedom and let him concentrate only on scoring goals, Dunga added.

All the formations seem to suit this team as I like to try different things. Even at the end when we had no strikers, it worked well.

ADDED RESPONSIBILITIES

Dunga added that not too much should be made of the victory over an inexperienced Japan side also going through a rebuilding process but was full of praise for his talismanic striker, who took his international tally to 40 goals in 58 matches.

We have told him he still has a lot of areas where he can improve, the 50-year-old coach added.

Now that he is captain he has more responsibility and status in the Brazil team. He has responded well to this yet still looks like he is playing with his friends. We still want to see him play even better.

Dunga admitted he was delighted with his side s attitude on the short Asian tour and felt that following the 1-0 friendly wins over Colombia and Ecuador last month, his squad was showing a strong desire and hunger to revive Brazil s fortunes.

The way we played these two matches shows that the team is in the right frame of mind, he said.

We beat a competitive and world class Argentina side and a Japan team that did not have jet-lag like we did. I thought we were very professional in both matches with players out to prove they already want to be considered for the next World Cup.
