Where It All Began
Snoopy stepped out of Charles Schulz's comic strip, Peanuts, and turned soft and huggable in 1968, when Determined Productions presented the world with its first cuddly <a href=http://architectscanterbury.co.uk/page.php?sale=True-Religion-Jean-Outlet>True Religion Sale</a> plush Snoopy. In no time at all, Snoopy fans around the world began asking for clothes and Determined Productions responded with a line of outfits suitable for Snoopy, the master of disguise. In 1976, Snoopy's sister Belle made her debut in the Peanuts comic strip and later as a plush doll with a complete wardrobe. In the early 1980s, Connie Boucher from Determined Productions began to contact the most famous <a href=http://www.cicviseu.net/page.php?sale=Jimmy-Choo-Riki-Bag>Jimmy Choo Riki Bag</a> and talented couturiers in the world to create an original one-of-a-kind designer outfit for both Snoopy and Belle. The result was a fabulous collection of specially designed haute couture that became an exhibition around the world. Charles M. Schulz could not believe that famous fashion designers from around the world would agree to turn their talents to creating clothes for a plush doll, but the Snoopy in Fashion collection is testament to the universal appeal of the world's most famous beagle. With gala openings at prestigious venues such as the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and the Seibu Art Forum in Tokyo, Snoopy in Fashion travelled to cities around the world throughout the mid-1980s.
Janay Rice Ray Rice (Credit: TMZ)
(CNN) Janay Rice, wife of suspended NFL player Ray Rice, apparently posted a statement Tuesday on Instagram calling the situation a nightmare.
To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his ass off for all his life just to gain ratings is a horrific (sic), she wrote.
The Baltimore Ravens released Ray Rice on Monday after a video surfaced showing him knocking her out with a punch in February.
The Instagram post, reported by various media, appeared to be authentic.
Rice was originally suspended for two games, a punishment that many saw as <a href=http://architectscanterbury.co.uk/page.php?sale=Louboutin-Uk>Louboutin Shoes</a> too lenient.
Rice was just weeks away from returning to the gridiron when the new video surfaced and the Ravens and the NFL acted more severely.
Rice was released by the Ravens, and suspended indefinitely from football by the NFL.
The new video shows Rice punching Janay Rice, who <a href=http://architectscanterbury.co.uk/page.php?sale=Ladies-True-Religion-Jeans>Cheap True Religion Jeans Uk</a> was his fianc茅e at the time, inside an elevator at a hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey, seven months ago.
TMZ Sports posted the video Monday showing Ray and Janay entering an elevator. Inside the elevator, Ray Rice punches his fianc茅e. She lunges after Rice, and then the football player hits her again and she falls to the floor.
No one knows the pain that the media unwanted options from the public has caused my family, Janay Rice wrote. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret every day is a horrible thing.
She added in the Instagram post: THIS IS OUR LIFE! What don t you all get.
At a press conference in July, Rice said his actions were inexcusable and that he and his wife were in counseling. The couple married March 28.
We re taking the necessary steps to <a href=http://architectscanterbury.co.uk/page.php?sale=Cheap-True-Religion-Jeans-Uk>Cheap True Religion</a> move forward, he said.

They certainly hope so. After months of playing like a team that would rather be golfing in October, the Giants have put together an impressive string of victories and find themselves breathing down the Los Angeles Dodgers necks in the NL West. Is the resurgence for real? Or are the Giants simply giving one last gasp before falling off again?
聽
If it seems like the Giants of April and May have come back, it has everything to do with the offense. To call it anemic over the past few months would be an insult to anemia; the Giants were so bad on offense, it brought back memories of the <a href=http://www.alportico.net/page.php?sale=True-Religion-Baby-Jeans>Cheap True Religion Jeans</a> first post-Bonds years where they struggled to score any runs at all. But they ve rediscovered their stroke over the past few weeks, fueled in large part by rookie and the return of a healthy .
聽
Pagan and Panik have stabilized the top of the order, allowing to drop to a more RBI-friendly spot and lengthening the lineup as a whole. The Giants have become a tough lineup to pitch to again and the results show it.
聽
The starting rotation has done its part, too. has done a great impression since coming over from Boston last month and has been one of the team s most reliable starters. The rest of the rotation has been solid, <a href=http://www.radiorcs.com/page.php?sale=Kate-Spade-Cell-Phone-Covers>Kate Spade Cell Phone Covers</a> with the exception of ; but, his recent demotion to the bullpen may be a blessing in disguise for him. Everything seems to be clicking.
聽
Can they sustain it this time? A lot depends on the health of Pagan, who is clearly the offensive catalyst, and whether or not Panik can sustain his level of play over the last month of the year. A healthy Brandon Belt would boost the offense even more, but that s no <a href=http://www.avanttravel.com/page.php?sale=Michael-Michael-Kors-Carla-Sandal>Michael Michael Kors Carla Sandal</a> guarantee. But the Giants look like a new team compared to the one that took the field over the past two months- they look like their old selves.
聽
The Giants are firing on all cylinders at the right time. If they can sustain it, they could be playing deep into October for the third time in five years.
Jessica Sims (Photo courtesy of Twitter)Related PostsA black, female sailor has been honorably discharged from the Navy after officials claim she failed to obey an order to cut off her natural hair.
Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class (SW/AW) Jessica Sims has been a member of the Navy for 12 years but was released on Friday for refusing to cut her dreadlocks. Sims has worn her hair in dreadlocks, pulled back into a tight, neat bun, since 2005.
However, according to the , officials said her hairstyle went against lawful orders and that her bun was too bulky to be worn with a gas mask.
The past <a href=http://www.avanttravel.com/page.php?sale=Glitter-Christian-Louboutin>Glitter Christian Louboutin</a> couple weeks, not knowing what the Navy was going to do, if they were going to move forward with the discharge or keep me in, had me in a little limbo, Sims told the . In the back of my head, I knew that they weren t going to change, so it was more of just waiting for the date.
Sims <a href=http://www.avanttravel.com/page.php?sale=Tory-Burch-Flipflops>Tory Burch Flip Flops Sale</a> says she was ordered to cut her hair or wear a wig, but she defended her natural hairstyle, saying she believed it did not interfere with work regulations or activities.
I don t think I should be told that I have to straighten my hair in order to be within what they think the regulations are, and I don t think I should have to cover it up with a wig, she said.
To me, my natural hair is professional, she聽. It s all how you keep yourself up. I could just have a regular bun and not take care of that, and it could look unprofessional.
Sims discharge from the Navy follows an announcement made by <a href=http://www.avanttravel.com/page.php?sale=Tory-Burch-Brown-Reva-Flats>Tory Burch Bags On Sale</a> the Department of Defense claiming it was reviewing natural hairstyles such as dreadlocks, cornrows and twisted braids to be more acceptable among minority women in the military.
However, for Sims, their review did not rule in her favor.
I am happy that I took the stand that I did. I still stand by it. I would do it again if I had to, she said.聽 I won t be the last one standing up fighting for this issue.

27.159.238.102: Rebels sold Steven Sotloff’s location to ISIS for thousands, family rep says

@@@
Steven Sotloff
(CNN) The family of slain American hostage Steven Sotloff believes ISIS paid as much as $50,000 to rebels who alerted the militant group that the journalist had entered Syria, a spokesman told CNN.
The family had learned from sources on the ground that a member of a moderate rebel group reached out to ISIS, Barak Barfitold told CNN s Anderson Cooper 360 on Monday.
Somebody at the border crossing made a phone call to ISIS, and they set up a fake checkpoint with many people, Barfi said. Steve and his people that he went in with could not escape.
Barfi said the tipster was one of the so-called moderate rebels that people want our administration to support.
So how much was the tip worth?
Sotloff s whereabouts were sold for something between $25- and $50,000, Barfi said.
False accusations
Sotloff, a 31-year-old freelance journalist, disappeared during a reporting trip to Syria in August 2013. Barfi said last saw his friend off the morning he disappeared.
Minutes before he was kidnapped, he called me from inside Syria to tell me that he was in, Barfi said.
Sotloff was supposedly turned over because his name was on a list of people responsible for a hospital bombing, his friend said.
This was false. Activists spread his name around, Barfi told Cooper.
In fact, Steve <a href=http://architectscanterbury.co.uk/page.php?sale=True-Religion-Shirts-For-Cheap>True Religion Shirts For Cheap</a> loved the Arab and Islamic world, and he wanted to bring their suffering to the world stage, Barfi said. He believed that everybody was created equal, and the people in the Arab and Islamic world weren t terrorists, they were just people like you and me.
Was the beheading preventable?
The gruesome video of an ISIS militant decapitating Sotloff spurred international outrage at ISIS, the Islamist terror group that refers to itself as the Islamic State. The group is trying to establish strict Islamist rule over swaths of Syria and Iraq and has captured cities in <a href=http://www.cicviseu.net/page.php?sale=Tory-Burch-Gold-Flats>Tory Burch Gold Flats</a> both countries.
But that video wasn t the first time Sotloff was featured in an ISIS message.
Sotloff appeared in the earlier decapitation video of James Foley, another American journalist who was beheaded by an ISIS militant. In that video, a militant said Sotloff s life depended on what President Barack Obama did next.
Once Steve appeared in that video, the Sotloff family made one simple request of the administration and they were rebuffed on that, Barfi told CNN. He declined to elaborate on the request, citing the safety of those who are still being held hostage.
He said the relationship between the Sotloff family and the White House was very strained.
We do not believe they gave us the cooperation (the family needed), he said.
National Security Council spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden said the administration is still committed to the cases of Sotloff and Foley.
We understand the very real pain the Sotloff family is feeling at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they grieve Steven s loss, Hayden said.
We condemn the murders of Steven and Jim Foley and we remain committed to bringing the perpetrators of these crimes to justice.
But Barfi also lamented the release of information about an unsuccessful U.S. commando raid this summer that attempted to free Foley, Sotloff and others.
We know that the intelligence community and the White House are enmeshed in a larger game of bureaucratic infighting, and Jim and Steve are pawns in that game. And that s not fair, Barfi said.
If there continues to be leaks, the Sotloff family will have to speak out to set the record straight.
Up to $10 million reward
A group of bipartisan senators introduced a bill Monday that would authorize up to $10 million for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in the Foley <a href=http://www.cicviseu.net/page.php?sale=Tory-Burch-Snakeskin-Flats>Tory Burch Outlet</a> and Sotloff abductions and beheadings.
James Foley and Steven Sotloff nobly risked their lives in the pursuit of truth, and the United States will not stand idly by after two of its own were brutally murdered at the hands of fundamentally evil and freedom-hating extremists, Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Florida, said in a statement.
Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-New Hampshire, echoed that sentiment.
James and Steven contributed greatly to the world through their reporting, and we must vigorously pursue those responsible for their murders.

27.159.238.102: Our View- Tracking can ease fears of Alzheimer's caregivers

@@@
The issues with diagnosis, care and costs related to Alzheimer s disease are as difficult to solve as they are troubling. But wandering can be mitigated, simply and inexpensively, through programs that are now being used in some Maine communities and should be considered elsewhere.
One of these programs, known as , is coming to four central Maine communities. Now being used by police and sheriff s departments in Waldo and Knox counties, the program gives <a href=http://www.symbiose.ca/images/christianlouboutin.gwij.php>Christian Louboutin Outlet</a> police access to information about local residents who are believed by their relatives to be in danger of wandering. If that person disappears, police can instantly call up and disseminate photographs and personal and medical information, allowing for a faster, more effective search.
The Wanderers Database is not the only help available. In June, police in Auburn and Ogunquit began using the national Project Lifesaver program, in which the person at risk for wandering wears a bracelet that emits a radio signal.
There are GPS-based systems, as well, such as Comfort Zone, a program through the Alzheimer s Association that allows families and caregivers to locate wanderers using a wearable device and a Web-based mapping program. And there are more low-tech options, such as the MedicAlert SafeReturn program, which helps track people down using an ID bracelet connected to a national hotline.
But The Wanderers Database, and others like it, puts the information directly in <a href=http://www.symbiose.ca/images/christianlouboutin.gwij.php>Christian Louboutin Outlet</a> the hands of police, who are in the best position to conduct a search and spread the word to nearby communities.
And the programs are not just suitable for people with dementia. They can all be used for children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, who also are prone to wander.
In fact, the Autism Society of Maine suggests that parents who have a child on the autism spectrum pre-emptively provide emergency responders with specific information about how to approach their child if he or she goes missing. That is the same information provided to police through The Wanderers Database, except in the latter case it is electronic, and thus easy to access and distribute to responders in the field during an emergency.
Alzheimer s disease must be reckoned with in the coming years, in Maine as much as anywhere else. The number of Alzheimer s cases in Maine, the nation s oldest state, is expected to increase by in the next six years alone.
That comes <a href=http://www.alportico.net/gosoc.php> true religion outlet</a> with many long-term challenges, from attracting enough caregivers to figuring out how to pay for the astronomical Medicare costs associated with the disease. But with the tracking programs so readily available, the danger, and the anguish, presented by wandering can be abated now.

27.159.238.102: President Obama addresses unrest in Ferguson

U.S. President Barack Obama gives a statement during a press conference in the Brady Press Briefing Room of the White House on August 18, 2014 in Washington, DC. (Photo by Win McNamee/Getty Images)Related Posts
WASHINGTON (AP) 鈥?When racial tensions erupted midway through his first presidential campaign, came to Philadelphia to decry the racial stalemate we ve been stuck in for years. Over time, he said, such wounds, rooted in America s painful history on race, can be healed.
Six years later, the stalemate suddenly seems more entrenched than ever. As Obama pleads for calm and understanding in Ferguson, Missouri, he s struggling to determine what role 鈥?if any 鈥?the nation s first black president can play in defusing a crisis that has laid bare the profound sense of injustice felt by African-Americans across the country.
As Obama sought to strike the appropriate tone Monday, he appeared to be trapped between the need, as president and commander in chief, to stand up for the government s right to ensure law and order, and the inclination, as an African-American, to empathize with those whose say the killing of an unarmed black man just goes to show how blacks are treated differently by police.
In too many communities around the country, a gulf of mistrust exists between local residents and law enforcement. In too many communities, too many young men of color are left behind and seen only as objects of fear, Obama said at the White House, in his most expansive comments to <a href=http://www.avanttravel.com/page.php?sale=Tory-Burch-Patterson-Boots>Tory Burch Patterson Boots</a> date about the fatal of 18-year-old Michael Brown just outside St. Louis.
But while Obama lamented the disproportional apprehension of young , he pointedly argued that s not solely the fault of overzealous cops. Police officers must be honored and respected for the difficult job they perform, Obama said.
There are young black men that commit crime, the president said. We can argue about why that happens 鈥?because of the poverty they were born into and the lack of opportunity or school systems that fail them or what have you 鈥?but if they commit a crime, then they need to be prosecuted, because every community has an interest in public safety.
It s a delicate balance that s likely to leave no one fully satisfied.
Aiming to reassure edgy Americans that the federal government is fully engaged, Obamaannounced that Attorney General Eric Holder would travel Wednesday to Ferguson to meet with FBI and other officials carrying out an independent federal investigation into Brown s death. Obama said he also spoke to Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon, who has deployed National Guard units, and urged him to ensure the use of those units is limited and constructive. I ll be watching over the next several days, the president said.
Obama also called for the U.S. to reassess the militarization of local police departments that have purchased military gear from the Pentagon. Federal grants for such equipment have come under intense scrutiny amid the alarming images of armored vehicles and tear gas canisters filling the streets of an American suburb.
There is a big difference between our military and our local law enforcement, Obama said. We don t <a href=http://www.alportico.net/page.php?sale=True-Religion-Jeans-Billy-Super-T>True Religion Jeans Billy Super T</a> want those lines blurred. That would be contrary to our traditions.
Yet for all the talk of procurement and sentencing disparities and police tactics, Obama has steadfastly avoided personalizing this latest bout of racial friction.
Unlike in 2013, when Obama declared that slain teen Trayvon Martin could have been me, Obama has been careful not to describe Brown s death through the lens of his own experience as an African-American.
And unlike in 2009, when Obama exacerbated tensions by saying police acted stupidly by arresting a black University professor at his own home, this time Obama is leaving the fault-finding to investigators. Obama said Monday he has to be careful about appearing to put his thumb on the scale by weighing in while a federal probe is underway.
Witnesses have said Brown s hands were above his head when an officer shot him repeatedly on Aug. 9 in Ferguson. But police have said the officer was physically assaulted during a struggle over his weapon. Meanwhile, the aggressive police response to the subsequent protests has drawn criticism from across the <a href=http://www.alportico.net/page.php?sale=Gucci-Belt-Bag>Gucci Belt Bag</a> U.S.
Obama s impassive response to the unrest in Ferguson contrasts with a second-term approach in which he generally has been more willing to engage on issues of race. In his remarks Monday, which came during a brief break from Obama s two-week vacation on Martha s Vineyard, the president pointed to his signature initiative, My Brother s Keeper, which aims to bring government, business and nonprofit groups together to empower young minorities to pursue a better future.
We re making some significant progress as people of good will of all races are ready to chip in, Obama said. But that requires that we build and not tear down, and that requires we listen and not just shout.
President Barack Obama <a href=http://www.museosangennaro.com/Public/anel.php>Cheap Christian Louboutin Shoes</a> on Wednesday promised to take the fight to the terrorist organization that beheaded two American journalists and degrade and destroy it. Yet Obama has not approved U.S. airstrikes against Islamic State forces in Syria and remains opposed to the redeployment of U.S. combat troops in Iraq (although he has ordered airstrikes in that country and has increased the number of troops guarding U.S. facilities there). Is there a mismatch between the president s words and deeds? Not if you read the fine print of what he has been saying about Islamic State. For example, in a news conference last week Obama said the organization poses an immediate threat to the people of Iraq and to people throughout the region. But he went on to outline a broader, comprehensive strategy that included regional partnerships and efforts to press Iraq to form an inclusive government that would reach out to disaffected Sunnis who have embraced Islamic State. And while he acknowledged that the Pentagon was preparing a range of options presumably including airstrikes in Syria Obama indicated that he was still weighing which, if any, to embrace.Given the gravity of direct U.S. involvement in Syria s many-sided civil war, such careful deliberation is responsible. Unfortunately, Obama expressed himself inartfully, saying, We don t have a strategy yet. He was actually referring to specific tactical decisions that lie in the future, but <a href=http://capstone.edu.sg/clreplicashoes.php> Christian Louboutin Outlet Online</a> it sounded as if he hadn t given any thought to the threat posed by Islamic State. The soundbite was a gift to his critics. But if the line about lacking a strategy created one misimpression, Obama s comments Wednesday in response to the beheading of freelance reporter Steven Sotloff could foster another: that the U.S. is about to wage total war on the organization. The beheadings of Sotloff and fellow journalist James Foley were barbaric acts that have rightly made wanted men of the perpetrators. But there is a difference between avenging their deaths or using air power to rescue trapped refugees, as the U.S. did last month and undertaking a military <a href=http://www.museosangennaro.com/Public/anel.php> Christian Louboutin Shoes Outlet</a> operation to degrade and destroy a group that might be neutralized without such a commitment.Obama outlined a broader, comprehensive strategy' on Syria that included regional partnershipsIs there a mismatch between the president s words and deeds on Syria? We usually bring a nice crowd. We're pretty competitive. We have played the Philly police before and have formed a great brotherhood with them. Billy Killian, who organizes the Philadelphia Police team, said this is the fourth annual baseball charity event. We traditionally play the Philly Fire department for CHOP to raise money for their child life program which is in place to help the patients and their families with things to do while they are staying at CHOP, Killian said. We want to enhance their quality of life when they are in a hospital setting. Killian said previous benefit games have been held at Campbell's Field in Camden. We've been playing against Michael's Allentown team for a <a href=http://www.avanttravel.com/page.php?sale=Tory-Burch-Tweed-Jacket>Tory Burch Tweed Jacket</a> few years now and we wanted to extend the invitation to them to get them on board and try to raise more money for the hospital, Killian said. Cruz is staging events across Texas sharing his plan to defund U.S. President Barack Obama s Affordable Care Act. (Photo by Brandon Wade/Getty Images)Related PostsIn what must have been an effort <a href=http://www.avanttravel.com/page.php?sale=Tory-Burch-Belt>Tory Burch Belt</a> to prove that the apple doesn鈥檛 fall too far from the tree, Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz鈥檚 dad went on a rant about how black people need an education. Speaking before the Western Williamson Republican Club last month, Rafael Cruz said that 鈥渢he average black doesn鈥檛 understand鈥?that minimum wage is bad.
During his speech, which can be seen on , the evangelical pastor mentioned that he had to <a href=http://www.avanttravel.com/page.php?sale=Michael-Kors-Makeup-Bag>Michael Kors Makeup Bag</a> educate a group of black pastors in California that Civil Rights legislation was passed by Republicans and opposed by Democrats.
Poppa Cruz then went on to say that he plans on buying 15 to 20 copies of the book Please Stop Helping Us written by conservative black author Jason Riley for black leaders. The book, according to Cruz, is evidence that black folks just need education on how to pick themselves up by the bootstraps.
鈥淛ason Riley said in an interview, Did you know before we had minimum wage laws black unemployment and white unemployment were the same? If we increase the minimum wage, black unemployment will skyrocket. See, he understands it, but the average black does not.鈥?
that the elder Cruz expressed doubt about the intelligence of blacks. Speaking at the FreedomWorks <a href=http://www.avanttravel.com/page.php?sale=Tory-Burch-Slip-On-Sneaker>Tory Burch Slip On Sneaker</a> summit in February 2013, he said blacks were uniformed and deceived because they should be voting Republican.
The live feeds are up and running now and have caught early controversy. One person has already been thrown off, and drunken squabbling has been reported.Clearly, Fox won鈥檛 be unhappy if its 鈥淯topians鈥?make news. But the network prefers to emphasize the social-experiment angle.鈥淕et ready to witness the birth of a brave new world,鈥?Fox gushes. 鈥淥n the daring unscripted series 鈥楿topia,鈥?15 pioneering Americans wave goodbye 鈥?for an entire year 鈥?to the lives they鈥檝e known, move to a remote location and set out to create a society from scratch. We don鈥檛 have a fixed point that we want this to reach.鈥漈he hope, Green said, is that 鈥渨e鈥檒l develop something generally interesting. That鈥檚 all we really are after. The whole point of this is it鈥檚 not a game show. It鈥檚 not a competition. There鈥檚 not a prize. What we鈥檙e hoping to see is something unique play out, which is people from very different backgrounds across America coming together, working out their differences, working out new ways of structuring a society. We think that will be fascinating on both a personal level and a social level.鈥滲ut what if the results aren鈥檛 interesting to the mass audiences needed to keep a network series running?鈥淭hat would be a problem,鈥?executive producer Simon Andreae said. 鈥淚 have to say, though, that I don鈥檛 think that鈥檚 a large risk. The show, <a href=http://www.alportico.net/prodotti/christianlouboutin-sale.jkmsw.php>Christian Louboutin Pumps</a> I think, has a number of really unique things about it. It鈥檚 a super-aspirational title. It鈥檚 a very grand idea. It鈥檚 about all the fundamental pieces of a society: law, sexuality, religion, politics and so on. Clearly, I would be very disappointed, but I鈥檓 not placing a bet on this show not working.鈥濃€楿topia鈥橶hen and where 鈥?7-9 p.m. Sunday on Fox, then 7 p.m. Tuesday and Friday. NEW YORK (CNNMoney) Apple unveiled the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the Apple Watch smartwatch and a new mobile payments platform called ApplePay on Tuesday.
New iPhones: Today, we are launching the biggest advancement in the history of iPhone, Apple CEO Tim Cook said at an event in Cupertino, Calif. They are without a doubt the best iPhones we ve ever done.
Display: The iPhones have curved edges and bigger screens that measure 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches, up from just four inches on the iPhone 5S.
The larger iPhones have what <a href=http://www.alportico.net/prodotti/christianlouboutin-sale.jkmsw.php>Christian Louboutin Discount</a> Apple is calling Retina HD displays. The iPhone 6 comes with more than 1 million pixels a third more pixels than the iPhone 5S. The iPhone 6 Plus has 2 million pixels, double the iPhone 5S screen.
To help users handle the bigger phone, Apple has moved the on-off switch to the right edge of the phone. And when you double-tap the home button, the entire display will slide down so users can access items on the top of the screen.
The bigger displays allow for bigger batteries: 11 hours of video watching on the iPhone 6 and 14 hours for the iPhone 6 Plus up from 10 hours on the iPhone 5S.
Speed: The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus feature Apple s new A8 processor, which is 25% faster than the iPhone 5S. The M8 co-processor will allow fitness apps to tell the difference between walking and biking and even measure your relative elevation.
Camera: Both iPhones feature an 8 megapixel camera with a new sensor that Apple claims will help the camera focus faster.
Software: The iPhones will feature Apple s new iOS 8 software, a relatively minor update from iOS 7. Among the bigger iOS 8 additions is a new HealthKit application that monitors users heart rates, sleep, weight and blood pressure among other health-related information. IOS 8 will also feature HomeKit, a new platform for people to control all the items in their homes with the iPad or iPhone.

@@@
CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. (CBS4/AP) - Bud Light鈥檚 controversial Whatever, USA festival in Crested Butte was a success, according to a town leader.
Anheuser-Busch paid $500,000 to paint several blocks of a central street blue and otherwise temporarily revamp the town into fictional Whatever, USA, for its Up for Whatever campaign.
Crested Butte Chief Marshal Tom Martin said the event went really well and there were only four arrests Saturday night.
We prepared for the worst and we got the best, Martin said. 鈥淚 ve lived here 37 years and this previous weekend was one <a href=http://architectscanterbury.co.uk/page.php?sale=Maggie-Louboutin>Maggie Louboutin</a> of the coolest weekends I ve ever been here.
Despite some residents being opposed to the town allowing the Bud Light event in their town, Martin said he thought most people had a good time.
The majority of people here are really happy that it happened, he said.
However there were some problems after the event ended. The more than 1,000 people who flew in to the small Colorado resort town for the filming of the Anheuser-Busch s Bud Light commercial had problems leaving the party Sunday evening.
The company said the travel delays stemmed from a large number of people trying to depart the Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport after the two-day event.
PHOTO GALLERY:
With more than 1,200 consumers attending Whatever, USA, from all points across the country, it takes time to get through a smaller airport, Nick Kelly, a Bud Light spokesman, said in a statement. We have a process in place to have all of our guests make the return trip home as safely and smoothly as possible.
Kelly said the company <a href=http://www.cicviseu.net/page.php?sale=Jimmy-Choo-&-Ugg>Jimmy Choo & Ugg</a> offered to pay for accommodations for those miss connecting flights because of delays, but everybody was able to travel later Sunday night.
A private security company fell behind on screening requirements for travelers leaving on chartered planes, Transportation Security Administration spokesman Ross Feinstein told .
Some visitors complained about the delay on social media.
I don t know exactly what happened, McKenna Reagan, from St. Paul Minn., told the newspaper. I know a lot of people were upset.
Before the delays, some residents of the town didn t take too kindly to the secretive event arranged between Anheuser-Busch and town leaders but others embraced it.
Martin said Bud Light was tremendous to work with and so was their security company, Patriot USA.
Crested Butte, population 1,500, is more of a craft beer town, home to art <a href=http://architectscanterbury.co.uk/page.php?sale=True-Religion-Rhinestone-Jeans>Cheap True Religion Jeans Uk</a> galleries, artists and second-home owners. There are no fast food restaurants or chain stores.
For the weekend event, workers installed a sand volleyball court, a multistory cowboy boot statue, a gorilla and a director s chair that comfortably seats six people.

The U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration is requiring local governments to evaluate their bridges for new load ratings by Dec. 2017, to ensure that the structures can handle modern vehicles that are designed to haul heavier loads. Thurston County Public Works is about a third of the way through checking those weight limits on the 119 roadway bridges in its inventory, according to civil engineer Matt Unzelman. However, the county is going to hire an outside firm to do some of the inspections. The Board of <a href=http://www.avanttravel.com/page.php?sale=Michael-Kors-Grey-Handbag>Michael Kors Discount</a> County Commissioners voted 3-0 to hire Exeltech Consulting Inc. of Lacey to conduct that work on 10 structures, ranging from the Old Highway 101 Bridge to the Mud Bay Bridge. Some of our more structurally complex bridges are included with these 10 bridges, Unzelman told The Olympian. We just need a different level of expertise. The ratings will determine if the county needs to add a weight limits to some of its structures, he said.County manager Cliff Moore described the work as routine, but said it s an important long-term process for the county. Like most jurisdictions in the nation, we are trying to keep on this issue, he said. The money will come from the county s road fund, and will include the following structures. (Size and inspection information was listed in the county s 2014 Bridge Index.) &nbsp;James Road Bridge (culvert), known as J-1, which goes over an overflow channel, was built in 1985.

27.159.238.102: MARSHALL, Mich.- GOP in uphill battle in Michigan US Senate fight

@@@
MARSHALL, Mich. Not so long ago, Republicans were giddy about winning U.S. Senate control in part by picking up a prized seat in Michigan held for more than three decades by a retiring Democratic lion, Sen. Carl Levin. They had good reason. Michigan voters had given the GOP control of the statehouse and governor's office, and conservative organizations prepared to deluge the state's airwaves. But as midterm elections loom, the optimism has become a salvage operation for the GOP candidate, Terri Lynn Land.On the surface, she might have seemed an ideal Republican candidate. Pro-business, Land has won statewide office twice, as secretary of state. But she has been tripped up by lackluster public appearances, polling concerns and dwindling outside financial support."She hasn't made a strong impression," said Bob LaBrant, a Republican and former chief lobbyist for the GOP-heavy Michigan Chamber of Commerce, which endorsed Land. The situation in Michigan seems to underscore the difference in skill sets between those required for campaigning, and those needed for governing."She'd make a better senator than she does a campaigner," Jackson County GOP committee member Leland Prebble said after a small Republican reception for Land last week. "Peters is a better campaigner."U.S. Rep. Gary Peters is no <a href=http://www.avanttravel.com/michaelkorssonline.php> michael kors handbags</a> runaway favorite. But the three-term Democratic congressman from suburban Detroit has led Land in nearly every reliable public opinion poll since April.Well-known within the party having risen through its ranks, Land has not often put herself in front of large audiences of undecided voters, as the state's moderate Republican governor Rick Snyder has in his quest for a second term.On a bus tour through southern and western Michigan last week, she met with small groups of supporters and businesses, before addressing the Republican faithful in her home region of Kent County in GOP-heavy western Michigan. In May, Land walked away from a gaggle of reporters when pressed on her position on the auto industry bailout, after giving a lackluster speech to influential business and political leaders on Mackinac Island, and ultimately did not answer. Two weeks ago, she spoke from prepared notes and used a teleprompter <a href=http://www.museosangennaro.com/Public/wdluk.php>Christian Louboutin Shoes Sale</a> to give her speech to the Michigan Republican Convention. In contrast, Snyder strode on stage with a microphone in hand instead of notes.Examination of television advertisement spending in the race shows that Land drew $14 million in outside group spending to assist her through June, but that it has dropped off sharply since. That's forced Land to spend more of her own personal wealth to fill the void until the fall campaign. And now, with just two months until Election Day, outside groups that endorsed her are putting far less behind her effort. Some are moving their campaign investments to other races.Senate Republicans need to gain six seats to assume the majority. They feel the goal remains within their grasp, given five Democratic retiring veterans, including Levin. But a number of moves by outside groups suggest Michigan has fallen as a GOP priority, unlike Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Louisiana and North Carolina. And despite American Crossroads reserving $800,000 in advertising for a week in September, Peters and allied groups are on pace to vastly outspend Land in the race's final weeks.Americans for Prosperity, the flagship group of billionaire conservative brothers Charles and David Koch, stopped advertising for Land this summer, after spending $5.1 million in ads supporting her through June, but describing the race as "an uphill climb."Likewise, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which endorsed Land, ran $400,000 in ads, but has not since June. The most recent red flag for Land came last month when Freedom Partners, a group associated with the Kochs, canceled an $878,000 ad purchase that was to run in Michigan throughout August."There is a high interest in return on investment," James Davis of Freedom Partners said. "We make decisions based on the most effective use for each dollar at that time."Since then, Americans for Prosperity, for instance, has reinforced its advertising presence in Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado and <a href=http://www.museosangennaro.com/Public/anel.php> Christian Louboutin Shoes UK</a> Louisiana Senate races.Land, who has already contributed more than $3 million of her own, declined to say if she'll be forced to spend more of her own money to keep up."You need to invest what you're capable of," Land said in an Associated Press interview in Marshall. "We're going to work hard and do that."Hesitant to say so publicly, some Michigan and national GOP officials say Land was not their first choice. They tried recruiting U.S. Reps. Mike Rogers or Dave Camp, after Land put her name forward last year.Land told supporters during a campaign trip to small businesses, farms, campaign offices and small groups of supporters that the race would be close, and that she would gut it out with their help."A lot can stop Michigan from being in play, but we've made it in play," Land told about 60 campaign supporters and volunteers in Ann Arbor last Tuesday.Land zipped from curb to curb down the parade route in Romeo shaking hands, smiling and waving in the Labor Day sun during the picturesque southeast Michigan's annual Peach Festival parade. But she can also come across as businesslike at times in a pursuit that requires a certain amount of interpersonal comfort with strangers."I think she could use a little more eloquence," Dan Valascho, a Republican Land supporter from Grosse Ile said. "But that's hard to teach."

27.159.238.102: EDITORIAL- Congress returns from five

@@@
Given the complaining about President Obama鈥檚 dilemma in the Middle East 鈥?not exactly aided by his earlier admission that his administration lacked a 鈥渟trategy鈥?for dealing with the Islamic militants who during the summer took over something like a third of Iraq 鈥?you might expect Congress to come forward with some specific ideas on what <a href=http://architectscanterbury.co.uk/page.php?sale=Kate-Spade-Angela>Kate Spade Uk Stockists</a> the United States ought to do. Don鈥檛 expect much.
If some lawmakers do suggest further intervention by the United States beyond airstrikes, they better have a good idea of how they鈥檙e going to pay for it and who will fight it. We don鈥檛 need to be cutting taxes and putting our military in harm鈥檚 way while the rest of us remain at home waving flags and proclaiming our support for the troops while resisting any of the sacrifices that might be required of the American homefront.
By now, Congress sure ought to be able to come up with a package to deal with the border crisis, including the care and possible returning of more than 60,000 youths who practically strolled into the United States from violence-ridden countries in Central America.
Many House Republicans have pretty much warned the president not to do anything on immigration 鈥?particularly allowing millions of undocumented workers to stay in the country 鈥?but then they better huddle with Senate Democrats to come up with at least some alternative. And if <a href=http://architectscanterbury.co.uk/page.php?sale=Kate-Spade-Treesh>Kate Spade Uk Stockists</a> the two sides can鈥檛 agree after years of research and debate on this issue 鈥?since at least 2007 鈥?then it will be hard to blame this president for taking action on his own. (Obama now says he鈥檒l wait till after elections.)
Unfortunately, pressing issues such as the conquest of northern Iraq by the Islamic State and immigration along our nation鈥檚 southern border will probably get no more than lip service. Democrats eyeing their prospects of losing the Senate reportedly will push such middle-class issues as student loans and the minimum wage. Republicans will seek to condemn the president for his handling of the Bowe Bergdahl-Taliban prisoner swap, even as the Middle East burns with beheadings, crucifixions and beatings.
Hopefully, Congress will pass a short-term continuing resolution to keep the government operating beyond Sept. 30 鈥?even Republicans pushing last year鈥檚 government shutdown will think twice of such dramatic and costly gestures before elections. And Congress reportedly will extend the Export-Import Bank鈥檚 authorization, at least on a short-term basis. The issue is one that has divided Republicans, so in essence they鈥檒l put off the matter till, <a href=http://www.cicviseu.net/page.php?sale=Nordstrom-Tory-Burch-Flats>Nordstrom Tory Burch Flats</a> yes, the elections are over.
Which gets to the real problem in Washington. Politicians anymore are in a perpetual state of campaigning 鈥?and too many Americans haven鈥檛 grasped this failure.

That reality is that the authority has decided to sell off its unnecessary assets to raise money to help <a href=http://www.radiorcs.com/page.php?sale=Jimmy-Choo-Shoes-On-Sale>Jimmy Choo Shoes On Sale</a> it pay off a $26 million court judgment for seizing a developer's land in the 1990s.Authority Executive Director Charles Everett Jr. will not discuss the bids until next month, but the pilots say they have sweetened their earlier offer of $1.8 million. Pilots want to improve the airport and keep it open. The second bid comes from J.G. Petrucci Co. and is expected to be at least the $3 million asking price. While that would seem to make the authority's decision an easy one, there are other factors that help swing the pendulum back toward the pilots. If the airfield is closed, the authority could be liable to repay $1.2 million to $2.8 million in state grants issued over the past 15 years to improve it.If the pilots keep it open, no grants would have to be repaid. But the authority would be unlikely to get enough money from the pilots to pay off $3 million in debt Everett says is left on the airpark. That's the dark cloud hanging over this year's Fly In one many of the pilots are trying to avoid. This event has always been a celebration of aviation, said Ric Carhart, EAA president, Effort, Monroe County. It's about getting kids excited about aviation and remembering why we do this. The Fly In, running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., opens the field to any pilot who can land on Braden's 2,000-foot runway. <a href=http://www.radiorcs.com/page.php?sale=Cheap-Kate-Spade-Shoes>Cheap Kate Spade Shoes</a> It's attracted as many as 80 planes, ranging from vintage aircraft dating back to the 1950s to modern planes to experimental kits built by the owner. They flock to Braden, where there's no air traffic tower, no commercial flights, and usually no waiting to get on or off the runway. With free admission, the Fly In also attracts people who can park free on the airfield and can see, touch and sometimes even bum a ride in one of the planes. Add in breakfast in the morning, a pig roast and clam bake in the afternoon, classic cars, a show by model plane enthusiasts and performances by three bands, and this year's Fly In figures to draw hundreds of aviation fans. It's like a community fair with planes, and offers the kind of small-town atmosphere that draws Kevin Schutz, a pilot who will fly his 1954 V-Tail Bonanza in from Winchester, Va. It's such a neat little airport. Friendly, Schutz said. There's no tower and no fences. People can come right up and shake your hand and touch your plane. I feel like I need to support them in saving it. Though admission and parking are free, proceeds from food sales will go toward improving Braden's facilities, should pilots win the right to keep it open. Come fly with us, Schutz said.

The first thing: Are you excited to work for this company? Whether you're an introvert or an extrovert, I need to feel and see that you are curious, knowledgeable, and, yes, excited about working for this company. Did you do some research about the company? Better yet, did you do some research and come with some well thought out questions about the company?

Interviewers really love this. It shows initiative, commitment, and engagement. Qualities this new employee will hopefully bring to all of her work projects. Also remember that even if I hire someone else for the current position, if you stand out for having the afore-mentioned qualities, I will probably remember <a href=http://capstone.edu.sg/clreplicashoes.php> Christian Louboutin Outlet Online</a> you when another opportunity comes up in the future.

The second thing: Body language. Yes, it's been talked about over and over, and there's a reason. It's important. Period. Eye contact, how you sit, your posture, how you shake hands, all of this matters. Maybe you're nervous? Say so. That can be an ice breaker. It shows your realness and can be the start of a dialogue about who you are. And speaking of who you are, brings us to ...

The third thing: How you tell your story. I'd love to have three hours to discuss what's been meaningful <a href=http://www.alportico.net/gosoc.php> true religion sale</a> to you in your work history and personal life. Really, I would. Sadly, that is a rare luxury. You have a limited amount of time. It's in your best interest to maximize this time when we start to discuss your employment history and why you think you're the right person for the job. Some people have a hard time tooting their own horn, but toot you must.

27.159.238.102: Tiger Woods injury- PGA Championship status unknown, future cloudy

The back injury that derailed former world No. 1 Tiger Woods at the 2014 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational could keep him out through the PGA Championship, but there s no certainty with respect to his status for the fourth major of the year, .聽
His agent spoke to the website and gave a small amount of insight as to Woods status:聽
<a href=http://www.radiorcs.com/page.php?sale=Kate-Spade-Green-Shoes>Kate Spade Green Shoes</a> Way too early. He has to rest and get treatment and then assess later, he wrote. Pointless to make that decision now without proper time to give him best chance. Nothing further today, maybe <not> even tomorrow.
The door s open for a bid to win his 15th major this week at the PGA, but it doesn t look promising considering the nature of the injury and considering that he s just nine rounds removed from surgery to repair a herniated disk.聽
Woods first felt discomfort after a difficult bunker shot sent him down the slope at an angle and caused him to land awkwardly. It was at that point he tweaked something in his lower back, causing the entire area severe pain.聽
It was noticeable, too. Even one of his fiercest rivals, fellow Southern California native Phil Mickelson sympathized with Woods after seeing him from the 11th fairway.聽
It didn t look good, said Mickelson.聽 It looked like he was really in <a href=http://www.radiorcs.com/page.php?sale=Kate-Spade>Kate Spade</a> pain. I hope he s OK. I mean, I hope he s able to play next week. I hope it s a muscle and nothing serious because I m really looking forward to playing with him.
As much as I love playing with him, playing against him, trying to beat him, we all want him in the field. We all want him back. I just hope he s OK.
Mickelson s sentiment echoes that of the PGA TOUR and golf as a whole. The game is better with Woods playing in <a href=http://www.avanttravel.com/page.php?sale=Michael-Kors-Fulton-Large-Shoulder-Bag>Michael Kors Fulton Large Shoulder Bag</a> every tournament that matters, even more so if he s winning. So far, he s hasn t been able to stay on the course or in the final pairing on Sundays, and that s troublesome.聽
It means a cloudy future for golf and one of the game s greatest legends. Tiger in his top form was something to behold.聽
Now more than ever, it s a wonder if the sports world will ever have a chance to see that again.聽

27.159.238.102: Six keys to 49ers’ success

@@@
Thankfully, the NFL鈥檚 annual preseason charade is nearly over. One more exhibition, this upcoming Thursday in Houston. Then reality stands poised to commence.
What will that reality hold? Hard to say. The Niners bring back an All-Star roster that populated the top ranks of the league for the past three seasons. That same roster looked putrid during its first three preseason starts, going 1-2 while getting outscored 64-24.
That could be due to Jim Harbaugh鈥檚 obfuscating ways. Or it could mean the 49ers have grown long of tooth, yet short of bite.
One thing we <a href=http://www.symbiose.ca/images/christianlouboutin.gwij.php>Christian Louboutin Outlet</a> know: The preseason is a horrible waste of time. It provides nothing for fans, while exposing players to unnecessary risk. Look what happened to Rams鈥?聽quarterback Sam Bradford on Sunday. He鈥檚 out for the year with a torn ACL, suffered in a meaningless exhibition. The 49ers鈥?franchise, Colin Kaepernick, could have suffered the same fate, taking no less than four major hits from the charging Chargers before Harbaugh took him out.
So, now that we鈥檝e dispensed with the obligatory griping about NFL greed driving a pointless preseason, let鈥檚 get down to the keys to the regular season, which begins Sept. 7 聽in Dallas.
1. Unleash Colin Kaepernick: The Niners鈥?fleet-footed QB was a revelation two years ago, and again in last year鈥檚 playoffs, using his superior athletic ability to confound opponents. The team held him <a href=http://capstone.edu.sg/images/gucciusaonlineoutlet.php>gucci outlet</a> back most of last season, while he played through a foot injury suffered in Week 2 against Seattle. Now he鈥檚 presumably healthy. If Harbaugh trusts his own system 鈥?and his chosen backup QB 鈥?then he should let Kaep be Kaep.
2. Find the right understudy: It appears that Jacksonville ex-pat Blaine Gabbert will assume backup QB duties. He finally looked competent during the Niners鈥?21-7 win against San Diego on Sunday. But he also looked terrible earlier in the preseason. Why not choose Josh Johnson, a QB quarterback who goes all the way back to the University of San Diego with Harbaugh and his system? Coach has always said Johnson was one of his favorite players ever. So why does he keep cutting they guy? Seems to me there would be less adjustment if Johnson came in to spell Kaepernick. And Gabbert was a total failure in Jacksonville. Am I missing something?
3. Sign Alex Boone: The first-team offensive line looked terrible against the Chargers on Sunday, especially on the weak side manned by Mike Iupati and Joe Staley. That鈥檚 surprising, and can鈥檛 be helped by the ongoing holdout of starting strong-side guard Alex Boone. Give the man his money and put the oO-line back together. The team is developing a reputation for signing injured players on the cheap, while withholding raises to deserving, healthy starters. That bodes poorly in the long run, while Boone鈥檚 absence will hurt short-term.
4. Fix the field: The patchwork turf troubles this week were inexcusable. Coupled with the tragic earthquake that struck the Bay Area early Sunday morning, all signs pointed to calling off this last preseason game. But they played. (Read: $$) And $1.3 billion Levi鈥檚 Stadium had some seriously shoddy sod. The team needs to get this right by the home opener, Sept. 14 against Chicago. And they will.
5. Give Hyde the ball: Rookie running back Carlos Hyde was the only bright spot of the preseason. He looked great. And the team should feed him early and often, saving Frank Gore鈥檚 legs for November and December. The rookie from OhioState could be a key factor to offensive success.
6. Win the Super Bowl: <a href=http://www.alportico.net/gosoc.php> true religion sale</a> That鈥檚 what needs to happen to ensure the return of head coach Jim Harbaugh. Anything less could mean a major shakeup before next summer鈥檚 pointless preseason. Harbaugh wants Super Bowl coach money. He鈥檒l have to win one to get it.
I totally agree with Donna M. Myers鈥?recent letter about Gov. Rick Perry. His arrogance and his <a href=http://architectscanterbury.co.uk/page.php?sale=Louboutin-Black-Pumps>Louboutin Black Pumps</a> feeling exempt from the law are an embarrassment to this state. After all, he now has fame, fortune and power. It appears that he鈥檚 deeply infected with narcissism, particularly with his new designer glasses, almost as if he were Clark Kent.
If Perry makes another run for president of the United States, let鈥檚 see if his high-paid attorneys, fame, money and eyeglasses provide him with Supermanlike strength to fly past all barriers and land in the White House.
Dana D. Phillips, Waco
Wrong priority
I am stunned and saddened after reading the recent article about the city鈥檚 requesting $2 million to fund the local animal clinic. First of all, improving the care of animals is a noble endeavor. But please do that with private donations, not my tax dollars.
If $2 million is raised, I request that it be used for such wonderful endeavors as <a href=http://architectscanterbury.co.uk/page.php?sale=True-Religion-Helmet-Hat>Cheap True Religion Jeans</a> Mission Waco, Caritas, Family Abuse Center, Grace House and other facilities and services that help homeless, impoverished and abused people. Animals are nice to have and we should be kind to them, but people are much more important to feed and care for and house. And $2 million would go a long way toward helping people who are really struggling.
And, incidentally, I am a pet parent myself.
Dave Tuel, Lorena
EDITOR鈥橲 NOTE: The city鈥檚 animal shelter seeks $2 million in funding for renovation as well as a new adoption center to increase the number of animals that find homes. The city, responsible for rounding up stray animals, has committed $500,000 <a href=http://architectscanterbury.co.uk/page.php?sale=Kate-Spade-Green-Handbag>Kate Spade Green Handbag</a> in city funds to the project, but the rest will come from private donations. The facility is more than 50 years old and needs the work.
Recharge time
During a recent kindergarten substitute teaching assignment, I discovered that 5-year-old children had no nap time allocated for their seven-hour aggressive and active school day. How has the leadership of education gotten away with depriving little developing bodies a basic requirement?
Brook and rainbow trout are hitting scud, Carey Special, mayfly emerger, bloodworm and caddis patterns. The best surface action has been midday. MINERAL: The trout action has improved. Most people are still fishing off the bottom. Use a combination of a worm, marshmallow and a Power Egg on a 4-foot leader. RATTLESNAKE: The fishing has improved as the cool nights have lowered the water temperature. Try fishing black or maroon leeches in the deep portions of the lake. There have been hatches of caddis, yellow mayflies and crane flies. Terrestrial patterns like grasshoppers, ants and beetles also are effective.Salt water FLY FISHING: The beach action is starting to pick up as the coho are returning, especially along the eastside of Puget Sound at spots like Browns Point and Dash Point. Some fish also are being caught in the Tacoma Narrows. Try using bright, sparse flies 3-4 inches long, such as a stinger Clouser. SEKIU: The coho fishing has been good since the weekend. NORTH SOUND: Daniel Lejnieks won the Edmonds Coho Derby s $5,000 first prize with an 11.15-pound fish. There were 331 fish weighed in during Saturday s derby.

@@@
BAA is seeking a judgment compelling Baylor to uphold its obligations under an official recognition agreement, which it says establishes the BAA as the university鈥檚 official alumni association.
The organization also wants a <a href=http://www.cicviseu.net/page.php?sale=Tory-Burch-Reva-Leather-Clutch>Tory Burch Reva Leather Clutch</a> ruling preventing Baylor from continuing to operate its Baylor Alumni Network, which the lawsuit alleges was created to undermine the BAA鈥檚 alumni outreach and communication activities.
In a press release, BAA President Keith Starr, who is no relation to Baylor President Ken Starr, said the group has spent about a month trying to work out a settlement with Baylor, but those talks have failed.
Julie Hillrichs, a spokeswoman for the BAA, said attorneys for Baylor鈥檚 board of regents gave the BAA until Thursday to approve a settlement offer. But the alumni association appealed to extend the agreement until Sept. 6 so it could adopt new bylaws, a process that requires approval by two-thirds of its members, then take a full membership vote on the agreement.
The regents denied the request. The BAA filed its answer and counterclaim Wednesday in McLennan County鈥檚 74th State District Court.
鈥淎t the end of the day, our efforts at peace failed, and the timetable insisted on by the regents was unworkable,鈥?Keith Starr said in the press release. 鈥淣ow, we must reluctantly, but resolutely, defend the claims made against us and prosecute our counterclaims.鈥?
The BAA said the terms of the settlement offer must remain confidential.
Baylor spokeswoman Lori Fogleman said in an email: 鈥淥ver the course of the last two years, Baylor鈥檚 administration and Board of Regents have proactively engaged the alumni <a href=http://www.cicviseu.net/page.php?sale=Jimmy-Choo-Stores>Jimmy Choo Stores</a> association in negotiations. Our most recent discussions were with yet another group of leaders appointed by the association for this purpose. Regrettably, our attempts at resolution have been unsuccessful.
鈥淪adly, the association appears to be unable to chart for itself or to otherwise approve a productive course forward in support of Baylor University and its students. The association鈥檚 actions today are disappointing to us all.鈥?
Baylor鈥檚 lawsuit alleges that the BAA no longer has rights to use its name and licensed marks after the university moved to terminate licensing agreements with the alumni group in the fall.
The school is seeking a judgment barring the group from continuing to hold itself out as the university鈥檚 official alumni association and injunctive <a href=http://architectscanterbury.co.uk/page.php?sale=True-Religion-Brand-Jeans>True Religion Brand Jeans</a> relief 鈥渢o limit BAA鈥檚 purposes by reformation to provide only financial aid to Baylor students.鈥?
The university severed the arrangements after a failed attempt to approve a transition agreement that would have dissolved the BAA, allowed Baylor to assume most of the group鈥檚 alumni outreach activities and created a Baylor Line Corp. to continue producing the BAA鈥檚 The Baylor Line alumni magazine.
In its counterclaim, the BAA alleges Baylor is in violation of its agreements with the alumni group.
鈥淥ver the years, the relationship between the BAA and the university cherished by its members has soured,鈥?the counterclaim says.
鈥淏aylor鈥檚 administration and Board of Regents, determined to silence the BAA鈥檚 independent voice and to seize control of alumni relations and fundraising, embarked on a course toward the destruction of the independent BAA and the usurpation of its functions by the university. Baylor鈥檚 filing of this suit was the culmination of the effort to destroy the BAA.鈥?

@@@
This summer, we crammed in sun and sea and sand, ice cream and tomatoes and zucchini. We packed up and dropped off: first one child, then the other.
Leaving the house <a href=http://www.museosangennaro.com/Public/wdluk.php>Louboutin Shoes Sale</a> quiet. We looked at each other, puzzled. It had been 17 years since we d been alone, together. We fled to Spain.
In Spain, we crammed in art and architecture and adventure. Soon we gave up on packing in and took up hanging out. We slept. We strolled. We sipped vermouth, with a cool breeze and warm guitar wafting over the rooftops.
We dined on fat chickpeas, tiny clams, hot sausage, thin ham. Every meal started with pa amb tomaquet 鈥?bread grilled golden and rubbed with fresh tomato. Pale, rosy, sweet.
We all came home flush with fresh stories and stale laundry. In the clamor, we toasted up a snack, <a href=http://capstone.edu.sg/images/gucciusaonlineoutlet.php>gucci outlet</a> and remembered the waiters rubbing tomato into bread, so strong, so serious about the art of letting go.
TOMATO BREAD
Prep: 5 minutes

Cook: 2 minutes

Serves: All of Catalonia
Olive oil

Garlic

Baguette

Ripe tomato

Flaky salt, such as Maldon
Season: Pour olive oil into a small bowl. Slice garlic and stir in.

Brush: Slice baguette in half the long way; open. <a href=http://www.symbiose.ca/images/christianlouboutin.gwij.php>Christian Louboutin Sale</a> Brush cut sides lightly with the flavored olive oil.

Broil: Set bread on a broiler rack. Slide under a hot broiler until golden brown, about 2 minutes.

Rub: Slice tomato in half along its equator. Rub cut side of tomato against toasted faces of the baguette, covering it with pale red pulp. Best to do this with the strong hand and furrowed brow of a Barcelona waiter.

Slice: Drizzle bread with more garlic oil. Sprinkle with salt. Slice on the diagonal into 1-inch-wide wedges. Enjoy plain or topped with ham, cheese or sausage.

And exactly <a href=http://www.avanttravel.com/page.php?sale=Michael-Kors-Bootie>Michael Kors Bootie</a> who is sending weapons into Gaza from Israel?), we might review our support. We give Israel $3.5 billion every year for armaments. That s $10 of federal tax for every man, woman and child in the U.S. For Thurston County, that works out to about $2 million a year. Meanwhile, Anthony Lerman, the former director of The Institute for Jewish Policy Research, says about his homeland: Self-appointed arbiters of what s Jewish in the Jewish state extreme religious Zionists and the strictly Orthodox, aided and abetted by Jewish racists in the Knesset like Ayelet Shaked, a Jewish Home Party member who recently called for the mothers of <a href=http://www.avanttravel.com/page.php?sale=Tory-Burch-Backpack>Tory Burch Sale</a> Palestinian snakes to be killed and on the streets are trashing democracy more each day. Particularly shocking are the mass arrests, nearly 500 since the beginning of July, of Palestinian Arab citizens of Israel for peacefully protesting, and the sanctions against Arab students at universities for posting pro-Gaza messages on social media. Now more than ever we must support those Israelis who cry out for social justice in their own country. For too long we have supported and funded the Israel right-wing s racist ambitions. We would never allow this in our <a href=http://www.alportico.net/page.php?sale=True-Religion-Eyewear>True Religion Eyewear</a> own country. But this week, with the deadline for his signature approaching, Kenney's office and the administration have been meeting to hammer out a compromise.Nutter said Police Commissioner Charles H. Ramsey, who had been a critic of the original bill, was part of the discussions that led to the compromise.Ramsey said Monday that he has been assured by the city's law department that the city has the ability to enact its own statute treating possession of marijuana as a noncriminal offense. Possession remains a criminal offense <a href=http://www.alportico.net/page.php?sale=True-Religion-Brand-Jean>True Religion Brand Jean</a> under state law.The chief change in the compromise bill is the additional charge of public smoking of the drug. Nutter had been concerned that under the original bill police would have little ability to stop public use of the drug, and that would send a message that drug use was acceptable behavior.A new bill, reflecting the compromise <a href=http://www.avanttravel.com/page.php?sale=Michael-Kors-Men-Watches>Michael Kors Men Watches</a> between Kenney and the mayor, is to be introduced Thursday when Council returns from its summer break. Assuming it is passed by Council and signed by the mayor, the compromise bill could become law Oct. 20.The deal paves the way for Philadelphia to join a trend. To date, 21 states and the District of Columbia have enacted measures legalizing some form of marijuana use, according to Governing magazine, which tracks laws.Colorado and Washington state have legalized recreational use, while the others allow pot for medical reasons. New Jersey permits medical-marijuana use. Pennsylvania's is one of several state legislatures with measures pending that would legalize marijuana. Copyright 2014,

27.159.238.102: Couple charged with robbing Manchester Rite Aid

@@@
A Manchester couple has been charged in connection with a robbery Saturday at a Rite Aid pharmacy in their hometown.
Brooke Frost, 23, and Devon Gray, 25, were arrested Tuesday on charges of robbery, stealing drugs, theft, and possession of scheduled drugs, according to Capt. Dennis Picard, of the Kennebec County Sheriff s Office.
Frost and Gray were being held Tuesday afternoon at the Kennebec County jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail. Both are expected to make an initial court appearance Wednesday.
Following several interviews, the suspects gave full confessions, Kennebec County Sheriff Randall Liberty said.
Kennebec Journal archives indicate Frost and Gray have two children together.
Police had been looking for a woman who entered the Rite Aid on Western Avenue in Manchester around 3:15 p.m. Saturday and went to the pharmacy and demanded painkillers.
Detective Sgt. Frank Hatch of the Kennebec County Sheriff s Office said at the time that the woman, who was dressed in baggy men s clothing, threatened violence before running out with an undisclosed amount of prescription medication.
Liberty said the woman, later identified as Frost, said, Give me Percocet. I have a gun.
Police, working with a dog, tracked the woman s movement <a href=http://www.museosangennaro.com/Public/anel.php> Christian Louboutin Shoes Sale</a> away from the store. The track failed to lead to the robber, but Hatch said it did turn up evidence, including clothing. He was unsure whether the woman ultimately got into a vehicle.
While investigators think Frost committed the robbery, Liberty said Gray planned the holdup and did an initial walk-through to see if it was a good time to carry out the robbery.
Liberty said investigators from Kennebec and Waldo counties, as well as the Maine <a href=http://www.museosangennaro.com/Public/anel.php> Christian Louboutin Shoes Outlet</a> State Police, conducted a number of interviews and used images collected by Rite Aid security cameras to identify Frost and Gray.
Frost was arrested around 8 a.m. Tuesday at a relative s home in Unity. Gray was arrested five hours later when he arrived at the Kennebec County Sheriff s Office for an interview.
Hatch, who investigated Saturday s robbery with Kennebec County detectives Michael Bickford and John Bourque, said additional charges are possible.
We re still looking at whether anybody else might be involved, he said.
It was the second time in a month that the store has been robbed. A man walked into the pharmacy on Aug. 3 and demanded prescription drugs. Thomas Bourque, 31, of Belgrade, was charged in connection with that robbery.
There were a record 56 pharmacy robberies in 2012, but the number of incidents dropped to a handful in 2013 and the first half of this year. There has been an increase in holdups recently, however.
In addition to the two robberies at the Manchester Rite Aid, since Aug. 18 there have been holdups at two Augusta Rite Aids, one at Community Pharmacy inside Goggins IGA in Randolph and another at the Spring Street Rite Aid in Gardiner. Jesse Mansir, 31, of Gardiner, has been charged in connection with the Gardiner robbery.
Police have called Dominic J. Pomerleau, 21, of Augusta, a suspect in both the Augusta robberies, but as of Tuesday he had not been charged.
Nobody has been identified or charged in connection with the Community Pharmacy robbery.
All of the robberies were done by individuals who are addicted to opiates, Liberty said. The spike in heroin addiction is having a significant impact on our communities, our youth and on the safety of our families.
Liberty said most property crimes, such as burglaries and robberies, are <a href=http://capstone.edu.sg/images/gucciusaonlineoutlet.php> cheap gucci</a> driven by addiction. He said numerous gangs from out of state have set up drug trafficking trades in central Maine.
Meanwhile, drug investigative units are understaffed, underfunded and overwhelmed, Liberty said.
As a society, we must get serious about appropriating adequate funding for substance abuse treatment and drug enforcement or continue to suffer the long-term dangers of the drug trade, he said.
The has reported that a network called "Black Asphalt" is used by police officers as a (possibly illegal) aid in seizing drugs and cash during roadside stops. The site was created by a counterterrorism firm called Desert Snow, and has been tapped <a href=http://www.cicviseu.net/page.php?sale=Jimmy-Choo-Outlet-Prices>Jimmy Choo Outlet Prices</a> by as many as 25,000 police officers, DEA officials, customs agents and others to share information. Some of that data includes reports about US drivers never charged with a crime, including personal data like Social Security numbers. It is also frequently used to share "Be On the Lookout" or BOLO reports, which often target drivers based only on a cop's hunch. Officers using the site and various Desert Snow training methods reportedly seized $427 million in five years, drastically increasing the take in the Justice Department's contentious "" fund. To drive home the point, the site encouraged members to post pictures of seized cash and contraband. It even hosted a contest to crown the "Royal Knight," an officer who managed to seize the most cash and property for the year. Though run with no <a href=http://www.cicviseu.net/page.php?sale=Tory-Burch-Swimwear>Tory Burch Swimwear</a> government oversight, Black Asphalt was used and even funded by federal agencies like the DEA, which once housed the site on its own computers. A spokesman said agents "would go in there to grab information," but added that it no longer uses the site over concerns that cases may be thrown out of court. Others have warned that use of the site may violate civil rights and jeopardize cases, but several officers told the Post that when they used it, they didn't bother telling prosecutors anyway.
The site is no longer being run by Desert Snow and is now in the hands of an Illinois Sherrif's office, to avoid the perception of a conflict of interest. Ironically, the point of contact there is a deputy who ghost-wrote a called In Roads: A Working Solution to America's War on Drugs -- which happens <a href=http://architectscanterbury.co.uk/page.php?sale=Christian-Louboutin-Wedding>Christian Louboutin Sale</a> to be Desert Snow's handbook of asset seizure techniques. This is mesmerizing and awesome and oh my God please let us see this all the time next season with the .
Rose got to the line five times, which was a function of how <a href=http://www.avanttravel.com/page.php?sale=Michael-Kors-Womens-Watch>Michael Kors Outlet Online</a> aggressive he was offensively. One of those free throws capped off a slick and-1.
Not everything was perfect, as Rose turned the ball over five times and shot just 3-of-8 from the field. He missed a few <a href=http://www.radiorcs.com/page.php?sale=Kate-Spade-Jobs>Kate Spade Jobs</a> more bunnies, which has been a problem this summer and was an issue last season before he got injured. Not finishing well likely has to do with rust, so let's just hope that figures itself out as things go along.
Overall, I was very pleased with Rose's performance. Finland isn't exactly the best competition (good lord Erik Murphy is horrid), but Rose just LOOKED good and was definitely more aggressive than the last game. He was also solid on the defensive end, so that's nice.

@@@
TEMPLE (September 8, 2014) Doctors at McLane Children's Hospital in Temple Monday said they鈥檙e monitoring a jump in the number of patients with respiratory illnesses, but say the strain here is not as severe as a severe virus that has sickened hundreds of children in about a dozen states in the Midwest.
The hospital received more than 100 reports of children with respiratory issues last week.
"Once school starts and you have <a href=http://architectscanterbury.co.uk/page.php?sale=Kate-Spade-Sale-Shoes>Kate Spade Sale Shoes</a> a respiratory virus that's as aggressive as this is," Dr. Dominic Lucia, McLane Children's Hospital emergency medical director.
"It's the perfect combination to really cause quite a bit of illness in the community. We in Texas and in the central Texas area have been fortunate. We haven't been hit quite as hard as some of the other states but we are still seeing especially in our asthmatic population and what we call our 鈥榖ronchiolitic鈥?population."
"You have to look at your child, see what preexisting conditions they have and pay attention <a href=http://architectscanterbury.co.uk/page.php?sale=Kate-Spade-Bridal-Shoes>Kate Spade Bridal Shoes</a> to signs and symptoms," he said.
There's no treatment or vaccine for the respiratory virus.
Only supported care such as hydration, rest, and staying away from other children can help relieve the symptoms, he said. <a href=http://www.cicviseu.net/page.php?sale=Jimmy-Choo-Logo>Jimmy Choo Boots Sale</a>
Seton Medical Center in Harker Heights has also noted an increase in similar cases in the last couple of weeks.
The suspected culprit in the Midwest, where nearly 500 children were treated at one hospital alone in Kansas City, Mo., is called enterovirus 68, an uncommon strain of a very common family of viruses that typically hit from summertime through the fall.
The virus typically causes illness lasting about a week and most children recover with no lasting problems.

Construction is underway on South Puget Sound Community College s new Lacey campus, an $11 million project that Lacey officials expect to be a shot in the arm for the neighborhood and possibly fill long-vacant buildings.Work began last month and the project is expected to be finished in summer 2015, college spokeswoman Kellie Purce Braseth said. The college paid $4 million for the complex of five buildings on Sixth Avenue across from the Intercity Transit station, formerly known as Rowe Six.The plan is to transform the 50,000-square-foot Building 1, which faces Sixth Avenue, into an entrepreneurial center. It will combine the college s Small Business Development Center and the Thurston County Economic Development Council in a single destination to support entrepreneurs and business start-ups.The EDC, its staff and services will move into the new building, EDC Executive Director Michael Cade said. The organization <a href=http://www.alportico.net/page.php?sale=Toddler-True-Religion>Mens True Religion Jeans</a> also plans to work with several community partners such as chambers of commerce, the city of Lacey, The Evergreen State College and Saint Martin s University, Joint Base Lewis-McChord and Enterprise for Equity. But Building 1 also will be home to corporate and continuing education staff and classes, as well as other classrooms, computer labs and student services, Purce Braseth said. The college also will occupy Buildings 2 and 3. Building No. 3 will be home to an advanced manufacturing program. Meanwhile, Buildings 4 and 5 likely will be demolished to make way for either parking or a new building, she said.In all, about 11,000 people will use the campus. The estimate combines students taking credit classes and others, such as state workers, participating in training.City officials hope that influx of people will inject some life into the Woodland District and <a href=http://www.alportico.net/page.php?sale=Gucci-Messenger-Bag>Gucci Messenger Bag</a> specifically, Woodland Square Loop. Woodland Square Loop surrounds Huntamer Park, and many nearby office buildings have significant vacancies, the result of the recession and downsizing. Several of those buildings have a new owner: MJR Development of Kirkland. The city of Lacey also recently announced a plan to sublease from the college about 1,000 square feet in Building 2 to create a military service <a href=http://www.radiorcs.com/page.php?sale=Kate-Spade-International-Shipping>Kate Spade International Shipping</a> center. The city has a memorandum of understanding with veterans centers in Tacoma and Federal Way to provide services in Lacey, with an emphasis on behavioral health. The center is expected to open in October.Meanwhile, SPSCC s existing Lacey campus is on Hawks Prairie between Marvin Road and Galaxy Drive. The college has leased the space since 1995, but in 2005 it purchased property off Marvin Road and set out to build a new campus. Since then, economic changes have taken the college in a new direction. The Marvin Road property, for which the college paid $6.2 million, is for sale, Purce Braseth said.
