Jacob even gave Joseph a colourful coat or garment that came to characterize how particular he was in his fathers eyes. Down the road, hed purchase his fathers foolish actions. Josephs friends resented him because h-e was the favourite son. Jacob, the daddy, had two wives, two concubines, and a dozen kids --- all competing for his attention. Josephs family drama have all of the ingredients of the t.v soap opera...with numerous symptoms of jealousy, hatred, deception and self-interest. Reading the account of Josephs life is much like being fixed to the t.v screen full of expectation about what may happen next. Joseph, the dreamer, once told his friends of a desire a day would come when they would all bow down to him. This dream made his brothers grow more angry towards him. One day, Joseph was sent by his father on an errand. Especially, Joseph was assigned to visit his brothers who have been employed in the field. Some accounts state that his friends plotted to destroy him but later chose to put Joseph right into a pit. Josephs brothers also got his vibrant coat and wiped it with animal blood. They later lied for their father by declaring that Joseph died after being attacked by wild animals. After some time in the bottom of the pit, Joseph was picked-up by touring merchants and later sold him in to slavery. The young lad was later sold by the merchants to Potiphar, one of the Egyptian Pharaohs respected leaders. As a worker in Potiphars household, h-e became famous in his labors. H-e was later employed boss over Potiphars household. The story takes a drastic turn when Potiphars wife falsely accused Joseph of wanting to sexually assault her. Of course, Potiphars wife did this to get back at Joseph who repeatedly warded off her sexual advances. Enraged by the accusation, Potiphar sent Joseph to prison. In prison, Joseph again found favor by being able interpret the goals of the Pharaoh. The Pharaoh was so high in anxiety and stress about the horrible dreams hed and the ideas he couldnt comprehend. Through Joseph, the Pharaoh surely could understand the financial benefits of his dreams for the land of Egypt. Later, h-e was appointed governor of Egypt. Where his sons and Jacob lived the famine that struck the land became the reason why they were later reunited. Reconciliation between his friends and Joseph paved the way for Jacob to again see his son. This amazing story shows exactly how we, like Joseph, should cling to religion even within the most trying circumstances. Stress and anxiety do not need to stop us from thinking that God has forsaken us and that weve been left alone at the center of all our troubles. Certainly, overcoming lifes challenges is a journey of trust, faith, and conviction that most people should take. Like Joseph, we are able to also dream great dreams and surpass our fullest potential..
