One man died and another was hospitalized Sunday afternoon after being swept off the rocks while fishing in Marin County.

The Kano State Government has directed all public and private schools in the state to reopen today.
The men were fishing at the southern end of Rodeo Beach in the Marin Headlands around noon when the incident occurred, said Alexandra Picavet, spokeswoman for the National Park Service.

Rescue crews pulled one man from the rocks offshore and transported him to a Marin County hospital. Crews found the other man in the water and administered CPR, but he was pronounced dead not long after, she said.

The directive was contained in a statement signed by the Deputy Director, Public Relations Department, state Ministry of Education, Hajiya Hadiza Habib, in Kano yesterday.
The men鈥檚 names were not released.

The Kano State Government has directed all public and private schools in the state to reopen today.

The directive was contained in a statement signed by the Deputy Director, Public Relations Department, state Ministry of Education, Hajiya Hadiza Habib, in Kano yesterday.
A copy of the statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) read in part that: All schools in the state, both public and private, have been directed to reopen on October 12 and 13 for boarding and day students, respectively.
This will mark the beginning of 2014/2015 academic session, the statement said.
The statement, however, directed only SS-3 students of GGSS Unguwa Uku and GGSS Danzabuwa to resume, while the rest of the students in these schools should await for further directive.
The statement explained that the state government had taken all necessary measures for the resumption of the schools.
It then urged parents, teachers and students to cooperate and complement government s effort towards proving quality education to its citizenry.
