IOWA CITY -- The Iowa football team sprinted out to a big lead and then cruised to a 45-29 Homecoming win against Indiana on Saturday.

n Sun & Sand: The Mississippi Film & Music Festival will open Thursday and run through Oct. 26, featuring celebrities such as Burt Reynolds and Gerald McRaney and a variety of films and documentaries. This year's festival will be held mostly at Cinemark in Gulfport, with a special, invitation-only screening of "Category 5" at Keesler Air Force Base. Daily tickets are $10 each ($7 seniors and military, $5 children) or per block, and a festival pass for all films is $50 ($25 seniors, military and children). Tickets will be available at Cinemark.
Indiana running back Tevin Coleman scored touchdowns on 83- and 45-yard runs. Quarterback Nate Sudfeld hit receiver Shane Wynn for 62 yards to set up an Indiana touchdown pass. The Hoosiers recovered an onside kick, only to have it negated by an offside penalty. Then they recovered another one.

The Hawkeyes forced a three and out, and on their next offensive play, Jake Rudock hit Damond Powell on a play-action bomb for a 72-yard touchdown. The next time Iowa touched the ball, running back Jonathan Parker took a sweep 60 yards for a score.

At the end of the first half, Iowa capitalized on a Bo Bower interception as Mark Weisman plunged into the end zone on fourth down as the first-half clock expired. That gave Iowa a 17-point halftime lead and sent the team into the locker room to huge cheers.

Weisman carried the ball 25 times for 89 yards and two touchdowns. Tevaun Smith had four catches for 69 yards, while Powell had three for 85 yards and a touchdown. Coleman finished with 219 rushing yards for Indiana, which piled up 393 yards total.
