It has been far from the perfect start to the season for Liverpool, and it could lead Brendan Rodgers towards adding more experience and explosiveness to his attack come the January transfer window.

In recent days, Argentine winger , and after losing his place in the current PSG side, he could be available for relatively low fee this winter.

Lavezzi brings with him a wealth of experience playing at the very top for both Napoli and PSG, and he could be the ideal mentor for someone like Raheem Sterling, and would help lift the burden from the young team that is trying to compete in both the league and Champions League.
+

+
Unfortunately any move for the Argentine winger would mean he couldn t play in the Champions League, he played the last nine minutes of PSG s 1-1 draw with Ajax, so will remain cup-tied for the rest of the competition, but he would still be a fantastic option in the league.

+
This season he has lost his place in Paris to Brazilian Lucas Moura, with the younger winger finally showing his potential and becoming more of a threat in front of goal; it has pushed Lavezzi down the pecking order.

+
What Lavezzi would bring to Liverpool is a fantastic work ethic, pace and directness down the left-flank and an ability to score important goals. However, one criticism of the winger has been his creative output.
+

+
No one is expecting him to compete with Zlatan Ibrahimovic or Edinson Cavani for the amount of goals scored, but to finish with no assists in 24 starts, for an attacker playing beside two forwards scoring 42 goals over season is extremely poor.
+

+
After struggling when he first moved, Lavezzi enjoyed his second season in Paris, he finally began to flourish under Laurent Blanc and his performances in 2014 have been nothing short of exceptional. His record speaks for itself, with seven of his nine league goals coming since the end of the January break.

+
As PSG approached the winter break last season, Lavezzi had only contributed two league goals and two assists in the Champions League comeback against Olympiakos. It wasn t looking like his record was going to improve.

Then family tragedy struck, Lavezzi s uncle Jorge had been found dead not far from Rosario in Argentina, just days after the news, Lavezzi lined up for PSG against Valenciennes and got himself on the score sheet in the 3-0. That was his fourth league goal on the season, and he would go on to score five more in the league and two in the Champions League against Bayer Leverkusen and Chelsea.

It is testament to the player s mental toughness that he was able to bounce back, enjoy a terrific end to the season and play a part in Argentina s run to the World Cup final. It is this able to fight and give 100% that Liverpool fans would absolutely love. He also has the ability to improve this current side. If available, he would make an excellent winter signing.
