@@@ As a longtime Democrat who has gotten older and wiser, I have learned to vote for candidates based on their actions, not their words.

Roger Katz of Augusta is the kind of Republican that we have been missing for a very long time. He is not a strident ideologue. He is thoughtful and deliberate, and when he thinks an idea is a good one, regardless of it s party origin, he is skillful at walking across the aisle to form bipartisan collaborations.

He was the lead negotiator for a sensible welfare reform package. Many of us want and Maine needs welfare reform. Katz offered a common-sense strategy that passed the Legislature and helped us better understand the complexities of Maine s poverty.

Katz was also able to convince many of his Republican colleagues of the necessity of voting for Medicaid expansion.

I welcome more Republicans like Sen. Roger Katz.

-Honey Badger came to play Sunday afternoon. Late in the 3rd quarter Mathieu defended a 3rd down pass to force a Redskin punt. Because of this play Arizona was able to get the ball back, score, and give them a 7-point cushion to work with in the 4th quarter. Honey Badger also recovered Andre Robert's fumble early in the 4th quarter and recorded 4 solo tackles.

-Jerraud Powers was all over Andre Roberts. At the start of the 3rd quarter the score was 13-14. Powers came up with a big stop on 3rd and 1, reading the screen pass to Roberts and recording a tackle for a two-yard loss forcing Washington to punt. Early in the 4th, he forced Roberts to fumble, which was recovered by the Cardinals. In addition to all of this, very late in the 4th he intercepted  on a pass intended for Desean Jackson. Powers was on fire.

-All week the question was who would be the starting quarterback for the Cardinals and it took until just before the start of the game that Palmers name was given. Congratulations to Bruce Arians for making a great decision. After five weeks of absence, Palmer returned and went 28-44 for 250 yard and two touchdowns. Despite the numbers, he was the rock of the Cardinals offense and managed to kick start them early enough to give the defense some leeway.

-Johnson recorded 8 total tackles (6 solo) and defended two passes. But that isn't even the best part. With 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter, just as the Redskins were attempting to storm a comeback Johnson intercepted Kirk Cousins to kill their momentum and take more time off of the clock. But wait, there's more! With less than 30 seconds to play and the Redskins down by 3 - Johnson picked off Cousins (yes- again) and returned it for a touchdown to secure the win.
-We'd like to give an honorable mention to  for recording 98 yards, his 1st receiving touchdown of the year, and telling the critics, "No I'm not done yet!"
