It came out last week that the Niners鈥?ownership, and Coach Jim Harbaugh have been unable to put a deal together for a contract extension. Coach Harbaugh has publicly denied wanting to be the highest paid coach in the NFL, but the Niners have put offers in front of him and he has turned each of them down. Baalke and Harbaugh have done a great job building one of the most talented rosters in football, and just like the early 90鈥檚 with Jimmy Johnson and Jerry Jones, each wants the accolades and recognition for the success. I believe if the Niners do not win the Super Bowl this year, it could be a great opportunity for Dallas to swoop in and hire Harbaugh. Just like when Jerry swooped in and stole Deon Sanders from the Niners after they were reluctant to pay him. It makes sense for Harbaugh too, it would pit him against Baalke and reignite one of the best rivalries in the NFL鈥?Niners.

It wouldn鈥檛 be like Harbaugh would be inheriting a bare cupboard here in Dallas. Jason Garrett has done a wonderful job turning over an old roster and stacking Dallas with a bunch of young talent. Harbaugh would inherit the best QB he鈥檚 ever had at his disposal and also an offensive line that would let him play to his coaching strengths. As for defense, Harbaugh and his staff are great at getting the most out of their players. Players seem to buy into his philosophy/vision and Coach Harbaugh seems to be a master of pushing players to their full potential.
As Hensley contends, you may not have heard of the community members featured, but once you鈥檝e listened to their powerful stories, you won鈥檛 forget them. These are people living a life that others will want to pattern a life that inspires empathy, compassion and vision to be passed along to future generations.
I understand there are a lot of moving parts to this equation. Most people would be quick to point out that Jerry would never give up, or minimize his role as the GM, but we have seen in recent years that might not be the case. Jerry wasn鈥檛 even in Dallas when they put the deal together. Stephen Jones was pointman on that negotiation. If Garrett and the Cowboys have a really bad year (5 or 6 wins), I think Jerry will blow it up and make a big move. I believe it would take a big check to steal away Harbaugh because he technically is still under contract for 2 years. The contract doesn鈥檛 preclude Harbaugh from quitting the Niners, and Dallas could also facilitate a trade just like the tried in the off-season. We all know coaches do not count against the salary cap, so $10 million a year for a coach of Harbaugh鈥檚 ability makes sense and it wouldn't put us as at competitive disadvantage on the field. Just a crazy theory, but it鈥檚 fun to dream, right?

鈥淵ou create your own life鈥濃€擳his is the motto Dr. Necia Desiree Harkless lives by, a sentiment imparted to her by her father. Born and raised in Detroit, Dr. Harkless is Louis Vuitton Pallas an educator, musician, poet, author and scholar. She came Louis Vuitton Rendez-Vous to Lexington in the 1970s to develop the Early Childhood Education program at the University of Kentucky and was responsible for bringing about universal kindergarten in our state. Her love for the arts led to spearheading the first African-American Arts Festival in Lexington in 1980. Despite her accomplishments, Dr. Harkless does not consider herself an artist. Rather, she views art as a vehicle for teaching, something she has shared with our community for decades.
