People don鈥檛 reach out to others because of the stress of life in the Bay 聽Area (costs, crowds, crime) and they keep to themselves. It didn鈥檛 used to be that way before, say, the 1990s. When you get robbed right on the sidewalk for having your smartphone out, people tend to withdraw a bit towards others. Also, other areas of the nation like the Midwest are known for how outwardly friendly they are to others, even strangers. To someone from a 鈥淏oy Howdy鈥?hometown, coming to a big impersonal metropolis like S.F. or N.Y.C. or Chicago is going to always seem harsh and unfriendly 鈥?we just are not like that 鈥?dude. Also, rich travelers who are used to being catered to at home get a dose of the ugly masses on vacation, and 聽that colors their perception.

Maybe that鈥檚 because I shop locally in Oakland and every service and shopping experience I have from local shops is <a href=http://www.symbiose.ca/images/christianlouboutin.gwij.php>Christian Louboutin Sale</a>  excellent. They go above and beyond to understand product, (to provide) service and to make you happy. Also walking around the lake and knowing my neighbors 鈥?the pride that people in Oaklamd have for their city is not something I see anywhere else. I guess it depends on if you come here being rude. though: We will tell you about yourself and maybe that makes us seem rude, but we don鈥檛 take crap. I鈥檝e lived in other cities and neighbors won鈥檛 even talk to you. In Oakland, if you鈥檙e polite to your neighbors, they smile at you every day after that. It鈥檚 all about having manners, some have it and some don鈥檛. Considering Oakland gets a lot of new people cycling in and out, the manners can be ever changing with them, but those who stay a long time know how to act.
