A Portland City Council committee decided Tuesday to put off making a recommendation to the council on regulating anti-abortion protests outside Planned Parenthood s clinic on Congress Street. The Public Safety, Health and Human Services Committee wants another month to consider the options in the wake of the city s decision in July to repeal its 39-foot buffer zone around the clinic.

The Love for Wiggins trade should be finalized tomorrow, and even though it hasn't happened yet, I am over it already. When were engaged with Flip on a potential Taj-and-stuff for Kevin deal I wept and prayed, but now that the crisis is passed I can be my objective self again.
Meanwhile, a city attorney recommended Tuesday night that Planned Parenthood seek a court injunction, or that Portland legislators sponsor changes to state law as ways to shield patients from anti-abortion protesters outside the clinic.

I am not a Love hater, he has had some solid seasons with the Wolves, but c'mon already. He has not been able to get to the playoffs for 6 years, what is that about? Haberstroh wrote about how it's NO LOVE'S FAULT, that he just didn't have good enough teammates. Nobody but Kevin has gone through the last six years without a teammate with at least a 7.0 WARP for Chrissake! Not even Jo, who had Jimmy with a 7.1 (and according to Haberstroh if Jimmy can get a 7.1 you know that is bottom of the barrel Gucci Headband in WARP ratings, that's for sure),
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in June that 35-foot buffer zones around clinics in Massachusetts violated the free-speech rights of anti-abortion demonstrators. The councilors voted on July 7 to remove the buffer zone, while vowing to seek alternative ways to keep protesters away from Planned Parenthood patients.

So now I am thinking that Haberstroh must be right. Poor Kevin, NOBODY can be expected to win with those sub-7.0 D-leaguers he's been stuck with, right? I mean, how many teams could make the playoffs without two guys with at least 7.0 WARPs?
That discussion was taken up at meeting Tuesday, when the committee ultimately decided it needed more time to study laws in other states and consult with the Maine Attorney General s Office before revisiting the issue at its Christian Louboutin Shoes UK meeting in October.

The answer is 5. There were 5 teams last year that made the playoffs without 2 guys with plus 7 WARPs. AND the only had one player over 7 WARP, and THEY finished better than the Wolves. Here is the list:
The City Council voted unanimously in November to adopt the buffer zone in response to weekly protests outside the Planned Parenthood clinic, where anywhere from five to 15 anti-abortion activists, including children, hold signs and hand out pamphlets urging women to choose alternatives to abortion.

: Williams 5.4, Pierce 5.2, Johnson 4.9
Trish McAllister, an attorney for the city, said Tuesday she spoke with Planned Parenthood about banning protesters from coming within six to eight feet of the building, essentially pushing them to the street-side of the michael kors sale sidewalk and preventing protesters from forming a tunnel that patients must walk through to get to the entrance.
+
: Jefferson 7.8, McRoberts 6.5, Walker 5.1
However, she said that also would constitute a fixed buffer zone, which has been deemed unconstitutional.
+
: Milsap 6.7, Korver 5.9, Carroll 5.8
In fact, she said, any regulation the city tried to impose probably will affect speech in some respect, and therefore not stand up to a legal challenge.
+
: Conley 8.2, Randolph 6.4, Gasol 5.6
McAllister said Planned Parenthood would probably have better luck seeking an injunction from the court itself 鈥?something that has held up at clinics elsewhere.
+
Mavs: Nowitski 10.9, Calderon 6.3, Wright 5.1 (Yes, was their 3rd best WARP!)
She also said the city s Legislative Committee could seek amendments to state laws, like Massachusetts legislators did after the Supreme Court decision.
+
Suns: Dragic 10.3, , 6.4, Tucker/Green 6.1
A new law in that state enables police officers to order the immediate dispersal of a gathering that substantially impedes access to or departure from an entrance or a driveway to a reproductive health care facility. It also imposes fines on people who intimidate or attempt to intimidate anyone trying to enter or leave a reproductive health care facility.
+
Wolves: Love 14.3, Rubio 5.9, Pekovic 5.9
Councilor Ed Suslovic would like the Legislative Committee, of which he is a member, to discuss additions to state law and wants the city s delegation to sponsor them.
+
So apparently it's not that hard. If Al Jefferson can lead the Hornets to the playoffs with as his wingman, can you really feel sorry for ? (But Love is in the WEST, not the East, you say. Well Dirk made the playoffs with Calderon and Brandon Fucking Wright, didn't he? Would you really rather have those two than Rubio and Pek? Didn't think so.)
He and Councilor Cheryl Leeman both said they didn t want to waste staff time and taxpayer money on regulations that won t hold up in court.
+
Still that's just 1 year and those 5 teams may be flukes. If you look at QUALITY players over the history of the league, surely there are some who Designer Tory Burch have been as inept as Love at getting their team to the playoffs, right?
City attorneys said Tuesday they don t yet know how much the city has spent defending the buffer zone, partially because the lawsuit filed by protesters is ongoing.
+
The answer to that is YES, If you look at the (you can look at more than that if you want but 50 is a lot) there are a few who rival Love in terms of not making the playoffs. Dave Bing missed 5 of his first 6 playoffs, before making 4 in a row, Dave DeBusschere missed 4 of his first 5 before making 8 in a row, and Pete Maravich made his first 3, then missed 6 in a row before finishing his career with a playoff appearance. So these three players are the most similar to Love. I guess if I was Love I would want to be Pistol Pete over the two Daves, he could shoot the daylights out of the ball. Probably the better comps though are Bing and DeBusschere. I would enjoy a good debate on who is better, Love or DeBusschere.
Although the city filed a motion to dismiss the suit after the buffer zone was repealed, the attorney for the protesters said they re still seeking a ruling that s specific to Portland s ordinance. McAllister said the protesters also want the city to cover their attorney s fees.

(The only other guys in the top 50 that missed the playoffs at least 4 years in a row were Walt Frazier (5), Moses Malone (4), Bill Walton (4) and Lenny Wilkens (7). All but Walton finished their careers with their non-playoff strings, as they faded out. Most of Wilkens' string was as a player-coach. Walton's 4 years were in the middle of his career when he was Tory Burch Flat Shoes hobbled.)
Councilor Jill Duson suggested that the committee take more time to consider its options, rather than accept the city staff s recommendation not to pursue additional regulations.

Anyway, to summarize:
I am not yet at the point where I m just ready to Christian Louboutin Shoes Sale throw up my hands and say, We can t do anything, she said.
