Before entering the Senate, Grace Folashade Bent was political adviser to the then PDP National Chairman, Audu Ogbeh and Assistant Producer in the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Kaduna. After election in 2007, Grace became the Chair of the Senate Committee on Environment. Senator Folasade Grace Bent was able to break the ethnic barrier in 2007 when she defeated many of her opponents in the senatorial election to represent Adamawa South, the largest senatorial district in the state, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Since then, the Ilesa, Osun State-born beautiful woman has been a major determining factor in Adamawa politics.

Because of alleged conspiracy by the then governor of the state, she was unable to secure the party s ticket in 2011,though she is a major player and a politician to reckon with in her husband s home state. Senator Grace has made her intention known to go back to the Senate, and she has since received the blessings of the powers that be and the masses, who have missed out of good representation at the Senate.

Apart from being a strong advocate of inter-tribal marriage, the elegant lady is at the forefront of women participation in government.

She has published a book titled: Women in Inter Ethnic Marriages in Nigeria.
