鈥淚t seemed like the right thing to do, to take one more car off the road,鈥?said Keefe, director of marketing for the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, which just signed up for a new customer-relations management system from Salesforce. 鈥淚 looked at The Chronicle this morning and saw the projected attendance, plus I know about all the construction, so I didn鈥檛 want to add to the traffic.鈥?

To be sure she鈥檇 have a place for the bike, she Googled Dreamforce and bike valet parking, and got some hits.

To the glory of God, I am a successful businessman and a partner in engineering firm that is into the fabrication and building of heavy machinery; we manufacture water tankers, fire engines, various environmental services equipments designed and built to specification and they are doing very well. And you should know that it wasn鈥檛 easy having successful business interest abroad.

But when she arrived at Moscone Center, she spent almost an hour and spoke to about 15 staff members, including several at the 鈥淭ransportation Information Booth,鈥?only to find out that bike parking was no-go. Dreamforce offered it a couple of years ago, hence the website hits. Nearby street racks were jam-packed already.

But the determination to succeed against so many odds encouraged me to forge ahead. And if I succeeded out there, I also feel I should also be responsible to my people at home by contributing my quota to the development of my home state and country and We have many many successful businessmen like me in the Diaspora and we must encourage them to come back home to do the same however slow, one step at a time if necessary.

It is the responsibility of all. For instance, I am back to contribute my quota by contesting the governorship position of my state, Ogun. That way, I can use my available resources and then government influence to bring succour to the people but Nigerians need to realize that entrepreneurship is the future. If start-up capital is a problem for our able masses, government can assist via provision of start-up capital even if it is on a small scale. Also, the organization of workshops, vocational trainings, among others would fast track development in every sector of the economy. Nigerians have learnt to become independent and provide for most of their basic needs themselves. Those who have succeeded in business need to look back and help others grow.

So, you are saying our government has failed?
+

+
Well, yes and the people are frustrated. This hampers economic growth. Take education for instance, why should people pay so much? Why would a government reduce school fees and increase salaries when it is election time? Why can鈥檛 basic healthcare be free? Why are our power sector killing businesses as most depend on alternative sources of power? Our politicians and the rich can travel abroad at anytime with their families to get good healthcare and that is why they can neglect the millions who can鈥檛.
+

+
Our people must begin to demand for their rights from the political office holders. For instance, if our political office holders have children in Nigerian universities, there wouldn鈥檛 be so many strikes or if they were stuck in traffic in an ambulance on their way to the hospital, they would know what to do.
+

+
When people pay through their noses for something that should be ordinarily subsidised by their government, forging successful entrepreneurs would become more tasking.
+

+
So, the solutions are not so vague if our people would choose to do the right thing. More businesses will thrive under right conditions and more people will contribute economically to the GDP. We have the people, we have the resources. We only require the right mindset.
Related Articles:

Louis Vuitton Tivoli

Louis Vuitton Totally

Louis Vuitton W

So when Maureen Keefe set out to attend Salesforce鈥檚 gargantuan Dreamforce conference at Moscone Center on Monday, she decided to bike there from her Mill Valley home.

That鈥檚 especially true in bike-friendly San Francisco. In fact, events with more than .

In a Salesforce posting called 鈥?鈥?a company representative answered a question about bike parking by writing 鈥淭here鈥檚 no actual bike valet this year, but we will have bike racks on Howard Street in front of Moscone South. 鈥? However, not one of the 15 people Keefe spoke with informed her of this policy, she said.
