-Permeable contact lenses are designed to normal looking gas that are as parallel as possible to the profile of the cornea to cause no effect or ortoqueratol&Atilde;&Acirc;&sup3;gico molding . The Ortho- K lenses are designed with the purpose of producing a molding effect on the original shape of the cornea ( rheology ) . The pressure occurs when the lens is less curved than the cornea , so that most of the weight of the lens on the cornea center rests . When the cornea changes its curvature, reduces its amount of diopter and corneal flattening is sufficient to compensate for myopia. Once the lens is removed, the cornea has a tendency to maintain the new shape for many hours. Allowing good vision without having to wear anything during the hours the patient is awake.
-Being the ratio of the refractive change possible and the diameter of the flattened area confirmed by applying the formula Munnerlyn and similar to that used in the excimer laser refractive surgery.
