Every year since 2001, the Southwest Regional Tournament has been held in Waco. The winner advances to the Little League World Series. The week-long event brings an increase in visitors to the city. "In reality, we're bringing in an event that is bringing about a quarter million in revenue to the city," says Regional Director Sergio Guzman. The teams and their supporters, who come from as far as New Mexico and Colorado, are responsible for increased business at local restaurants and hotels.
