But that means BAA will not meet a Dec. 8 deadline imposed by Baylor for the group to cease using the university鈥檚 name and trademarks.

The university issued the deadline after a Sept. 7 vote in which the organization failed to reach a two-thirds majority to approve a measure that would have transferred all alumni outreach activities to Baylor but allowed BAA to continue publishing its 66-year-old alumni magazine The Baylor Line.

Perry is scheduled to return home on Saturday.

Baylor previously announced its intentions, if the agreement vote failed, to terminate a licensing agreement that permits BAA to serve as its official alumni organization.

BAA leaders said they don鈥檛 know what, if any, ramifications may come since they will not have not finalized their operation plans before the deadline. But the group plans to continue conducting business until members reach a consensus on its future direction.

鈥淚 just don鈥檛 know what will happen,鈥?chief operating officer Chad Wooten said of the deadline. 鈥淲e鈥檙e going to go about our business. We have work to do and we have some big decisions to make in the near future, so we鈥檙e going to do our best to make the best decisions for this organization.鈥?

Cowden said attorneys for BAA and Baylor have been in talks in recent weeks to discuss any potential legal issues.

−
J.D. Pauerstein, the San Antonio attorney who represents BAA, said he was not at liberty to discuss the situation.
+
−
It is also unclear what will happen after the deadline for the remaining BAA staff who have been working in offices at Baylor鈥檚 Clifton Robinson administrative tower since July.
+
−
The university allowed the staff to move there when Baylor tore down the Hughes-Dillard Alumni Center that had served as BAA鈥檚 on-campus headquarters since 1978.

Wooten and one other staff member still work for BAA, while nine others took jobs with Baylor after the transition agreement failed.

鈥淭hat will be up to Baylor,鈥?Cowden said. 鈥淲e need to have an office for them so if it comes down to it, I鈥檓 sure we can land somewhere for them to continue working.鈥?

BAA leaders have been meeting Gucci Satchel Bag by phone or in person almost weekly to handle various business matters, including electing new officers after all five leaders resigned or stepped down from their posts after the September vote.
+
−
The 52-seat BAA board also had to fill 14 member slots left empty by resignations.
+
−
But the organization thinks changing the bylaws is a critical step before a vote can take place on how BAA will function without the licensing agreement with the university.
+
−
Wooten said BAA chose to hold the meeting on Dec. 7 because it coincides with the final football game at Floyd Casey Stadium, against the Big 12 rival University of Texas, so more people are likely to be in town to participate.
+
−
Two-thirds of the voters must approve the measure for it to pass.
+
−
鈥淲e don鈥檛 expect it to be a highly debated issue because people who were both pro and against the transition agreement all said we needed to have a way for everybody to vote,鈥?Wooten said.
+
−
Kept from voting

−
Ahead of the Sept. 7 vote, many members complained that the current requirement to vote in person in Waco prevented alumni who Gucci Mens Clothes live in other Texas cities or out of state from participating.
+
−
Only about 1,500 votes were cast at the Sept. 7 meeting on the transition agreement, though the organization has about 17,000 paid members. About 55 percent of the votes were in favor of the agreement.
+
−
Former BAA President Collin Cox previously said there was not enough time to amend the bylaws because of the summer lawsuit over the alumni center in which a Chicago-area alumnus obtained a temporary injunction to halt demolition.
+
−
Cowden said he didn鈥檛 know how soon BAA would be ready to hold a formal vote for members to approve either changing the direction of the organization or continuing with alumni operations.
+
−
Of the 1,900 members who responded to an email survey in October, about 50 percent were in favor of reorganizing as a foundation that would raise funds for efforts like student scholarships.
+
−
Another 30 percent said BAA should continue operating as usual and defend its rights to do so through litigation if necessary, while 20 percent supported continuing to do alumni outreach activities under a new name, completely separate from Baylor.
+
−
Those three options are the main ideas being debated so far, Cowden said.
+
−
鈥淚 think there are still a variety of opinions among the board members and among the membership, and I think it鈥檚 a good thing,鈥?Cowden said. 鈥淚 think you have to have that to facilitate the decisions about our various options, and I like that, frankly.鈥?
