State Police have charged a Smyrna man in connection with an armed home invasion in Bridgewater on Sunday.

Saturday at 1:23 p.m., disorderly conduct was reported on Stephen King Drive.
  
Timothy Slaton, 48, was arrested and charged with burglary and criminal threatening with a firearm. Slaton was taken into custody at his home Sunday and taken to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.

1:54 p.m., criminal mischief was reported on Cedar Street.
  
Troopers earlier Sunday had responded to the Corner Road in Bridgewater for a report of an armed home invasion. The homeowner reported that a man had forced his way into the residence brandishing a firearm.

4:38 p.m., a 43-year-old Madison man was summoned on a charge of operating while license suspended or revoked on Stephen King Drive.
  
There was a brief altercation inside the home and the suspect fled in a vehicle, along with a second man. The suspects in this case were identified later in the day as Slaton and 52-year-old Alan Gillotti of Ludlow.

5:56 p.m., criminal mischief was reported on Hope Way.
  
Following Slaton s arrest, Troopers went to Gillotti s house on the Town Line Road in Ludlow to talk to him. Gillotti had an armed confrontation with the troopers and he was shot and killed by Sgt. Joshua Haines.

8:57 p.m., a 52-year-old Augusta man was summoned on charges of theft and criminal trespass on Western Avenue.
  
As is standard with all police involved shootings, the Maine Attorney General s Office is investigating the incident and Sgt.
