Olowo also enjoined the people of the community to come together irrespective of party affiliation to work for the development of the town and make it occupy its rightful place in the state.

The President, Owo Youth Assembly, Olamiposi Oyegoke, said concerted efforts should be made by all irrespctive of political divide to come together and ensure the emergence of an Owo indigene as the next senator.

He argued that the agitation was borne out of the fact that the town, which was the headquarters of the old Owo division had been marginalised for so long.

According to him, the Akokos that belong to the same senatorial district had produced majority of the present key political office holders at the detriment of Owo.

He listed the posts to include the deputy governor, deputy speaker of the state House of Assembly, the Nigerian ambassador from the state, the Chief of Staff to the President, the state Chief Judge and many more.
