Senator Folasade Grace Bent was able to break the ethnic barrier in 2007 when she defeated many of her opponents in the senatorial election to represent Adamawa South, the largest senatorial district in the state, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Since then, the Ilesa, Osun State-born beautiful woman has been a major determining factor in Adamawa politics.

Because there are only believed to be an estimated 30 king cheetahs in the world, the large litter was a very welcome addition 鈥?and surprise 鈥?to the center, which is dedicated to saving species on the verge of extinction. Mona Lisa came to the non-profit in 2010 to participate in its cheetah breeding program, and while she was able to get pregnant, the center was shocked last month when she gave birth to such a large litter.<br><br>鈥淚t鈥檚 amazing. I鈥檓 still pinching myself,鈥?Marcella Leone, co-founder of the center, told TODAY. 鈥淎n average litter is two to four.鈥?br>
Because of alleged conspiracy by the then governor of the state, she was unable to secure the party s ticket in 2011,though she is a major player and a politician to reckon with in her husband s home state. Senator Grace has made her intention known to go back to the Senate, and she has since received the blessings of the powers that be and the masses, who have missed out of good representation at the Senate.

Marcella told TODAY that she is hoping to send two of the baby cheetahs back to Africa, while the rest will stay in the center鈥檚 breeding program or go to zoos throughout the country.

The well- endowed senator cut her teeth in politics at the University of Calabar, as she was actively involved in students unionism. She got a BA (Hons) in English and Literary Studies in 1998 and an MSc in Political Science and International Relations in 2003. She has a doctoral degree in Public Administration from Indiana State University, USA. Before entering the Senate, Grace Folashade Bent was political adviser to the then PDP National Chairman, Audu Ogbeh and Assistant Producer in the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Kaduna. After election in 2007, Grace became the Chair of the Senate Committee on Environment.
