The most recent health fad is the use of detox patches to clear the body of poisons and toxins. While a lot of people consider these patches work and clear out toxins as they're advertised to do, the science behind the patches is debateable.

detox patch - For those not acquainted with the product, detoxification patches are essentially an absorbent pad with adhesive round the edges that may be stuck to the body. The patches are filled with powdered ingredients for example wood vinegar, bamboo vinegar and mushrooms, which are designed to draw the toxins out of the human body onto the pad.

They are most often used on the feet, whilst the pads can be put in virtually any location in the human body. This is really in accordance with all the study of reflexology which states each organ system in the body corresponds to a zone in the feet. By placing these detoxification patches on the feet; they are supposed to arouse these zones, hence causing each organ system to discharge its toxic substances.

detox patches - While I am perhaps not an expert on the area the way these detoxification patches are supposed to work is extremely reminiscent of the foot spa scam of many years ago. People were supposedly going to spas where they would have their feet soaked in a bath of seawater charged with a slight electrical charge. Such as the detoxification patches, this soak was also designed to pull the toxic substances out of your human body. To the majority of people, since the water would turn dark as their feet soaked the practice appeared to function. At any rate, no toxic substances were truly being pulled from the feet.

natural detox - Anyone with even a fundamental knowledge of biology will tell you that toxic substances and poisons cannot be pulled or drawn via the skin by such a thing. While some nutrients are passed via the skin via the pores, the skin is generally impermeable to the majority of other substances. In addition, it does not make sense that placing a patch on the feet would induce all of the toxins within the body to be pulled to the feet overnight. This goes against the way science has demonstrated the human anatomy works. Even in the event the detox patches did possess some power to pull toxins and poisons out of the body's cells, these toxins would enter the bloodstream at the place where they would be filtered out by the liver and kidneys and excreted as urine.

Nothing easy and quick will probably be worth doing, if you are searching for a fast and simple method to detox, remember. In case you are intent on cleaning the body of toxic substances, detox patches aren't a great alternative.
