Microsoft has unveiled its new tablet, the Surface 2, which runs on Windows RT, and will be released in the third week of October. The Surface 2 is a refinement over the original, which is called the Surface RT. Rolf Harms, Microsoftâs Senior Director of Corporate Strategy, has said that the Surface 2 is a thousand little things that add up to one big improvement.
This tablet is powered by an Nvidia Tegra 4 processor, and has a battery life of up to 10 hours. Its 10.6-inch ClearType Full HD display can play 1080p videos, and the device has a USB 3.0 port that ensures a file transfer speed of up to four times faster than the previous tablet. The Surface 2 has two cameras, the 5MP rear and the 3.5MP front cameras. Though there have been many upgrades made to this new tablet, Microsoft has ensured that the product is lighter and thinner than its predecessor.
