On Oct 23, 2013 Panama’s public work department (Ministerio de Obras Publicas de Panama) granted Conalvias Construction Business a contract for a project worth somewhere around 185 million dollars.
The brand new contract culminates the research, design, construction, funding and maintenance of the recovery as well as expansion work on the panamerican road. The project calls for an extension of 39.79 km all the way through San Juan - La Pita over the following three year execution period from December 2013 to December 2016. “It’s a true success for Conalvias to continue participating in great infrastructure works in Panama that greatly improves mobility of a very important artery of such scale as the panamerican road; it also offers to the community and the country commercial advantages by reduction of the cost of commercial traveling amongst regions,” said Andres Jaramillo Lopez, Conalvias CEO.
In addition, the Panamá Canal Authority (Autoridad del Canal de Panamá) awarded Conalvias Construction with a $16 million contract for erosion control in the Mamei curve in Gatun Lake, located in the Panamá province. The erosion project includes the construction of an intransitive coated with a protective rockfill.
