A lot of time when you don鈥檛 speak, the feeling is more pure.鈥? Though his studio has received positive attention and what most would consider commercial success, does Chen still consider thatgamecompany to be an indie brand? 鈥淚 was indie when we started eight years ago. But today, indie is very difficult. There are thousands of iPhone apps coming out every day. Most of these apps are made by individuals in their spare time. Are they indie? It鈥檚 soulless. There鈥檚 no heart. It鈥檚 about the heart.鈥? Chen is adamant that financial success was never the company鈥檚 primary goal. 鈥淲ith 鈥楯ourney鈥?and 鈥楩lower鈥?we鈥檝e never seen games like this in the past. We don鈥檛 know if it鈥檚 going to work. I believe they will work, because these emotions are needed in the industry. Even with our current project, it鈥檚 a pretty indie project. We鈥檙e trying something no one has done in the past. There鈥檚 a lot of risk involved, but it鈥檚 really exciting.鈥?
