WASHINGTON (CBSDC) As part of True Religion Fragrance For Women s ongoing plight to set the record straight about the name of the Washington Redskins, a new video was released earlier this week aimed at doing exactly that.
Many Native Americans do not find the Redskins name offensive, reads the description of the YouTube video, and instead are more concerned with other issues facing their community.
As 聽yesterday, many of the people quoted in the video appear to be inhabitants of the Rocky Boy s Reservation in Montana, the same Rocky Boy s Reservation visited by some of the principle Redskins Facts members, notably former players Gary Clark, Chris Cooley and Mark Moseley. Of the many quotes featured in the video, here are a select few: 鈥淚 feel like it鈥檚 too insignificant when there鈥檚 bigger topics to talk about Gucci Discount in Indian Country,鈥?said Amanda Kay Not Afraid of The Crow Nation. 鈥淥ur issues that we鈥檙e more concerned about: Health care, crime on the reservation,鈥?said Tony Wood of the Chippewa Cree Tribe. 鈥淎lcohol, drugs, just lack of employment,鈥?said Don Wetzel Jr. of the Blackfeet Nation. 鈥淲e have like four or five families living in one house,鈥?said Clarissa Bishop of the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation. 鈥淭hey鈥檝e never asked Native Americans,鈥?said Wade Colliflower of the Chippewa Cree Tribe. 鈥淚 mean it鈥檚 somebody else who knows nothing about us trying to speak for us, and it鈥檚 kind of an insult. 鈥淚f you can help in any other way it would be greatly appreciated, but the mascot issue isn鈥檛 an issue for us. Not for Native Americans.鈥? You can watch the two-minute video above. It appears to be shot in a similar manner as Mens True Religion Sale the Proud to Be , shot and released in time for this year s Super Bowl, which ran in 7 television markets during this year s NBA Finals.
