EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (WCCO/AP) 鈥?Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer has named veteran Matt Cassel as the team s starting quarterback for the season opener against the St. Louis Rams. Zimmer made <a href=http://www.alportico.net/page.php?sale=Gucci-Shoes-Men>Gucci Shoes Men</a> the announcement Monday, though it has long been known that Cassel has been the choice over rookie Teddy Bridgewater. Cassel has been sharp while starting all three preseason games. He has completed more than 66 percent of his passes for 367 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. He opened <a href=http://www.alportico.net/page.php?sale=True-Religion-Ricky>True Religion Ricky</a> training camp in competition with Bridgewater, one of the team s two first-round draft picks, for the starting job.

Matt (Cassel) didn t do anything to lose the job, Zimmer said. The players have faith in him. It wasn t anything Teddy did or didn t do. 

Bridgewater has completed 65 percent of his passes for 266 yards and four touchdowns in the preseason. But most of his game time has come with the second team. The St. Louis Rams lost their No. 1 quarterback for the season over the weekend as Sam Bradford tore the ACL in the same knee that he had surgery on last season.
