MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) 鈥?The Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk ends Sunday at the Minnesota State Capitol. Nearly 1,000 people are taking part, including Dr. Sheri Prentiss, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008.
When I was diagnosed, I was floored, Prentiss said.
At the time, her mother was dying of a terminal illness and she did all she could to survive. Now, after a partial True Religion Jeans On Sale mastectomy and several treatments, she is grateful to be alive and to be able to take part in the event. The walk raises money for a research to find a cure.
What we have done with regard to early detection and treatment, we have reduced the mortality rate by 34 percent, she said.
Seventy-five percent Christian Louboutin Sale of the proceeds from the walk will go toward Komen s research and training grant program. The other 25 percent goes toward local outreach programs. People walked 60 miles in three days and raised an estimated $2 million in the fight against breast cancer.
