No-ninja Movie fights will never be the same MMA law Why Vic's cage-ban is baffling Michael Bisping (27-6) was in prime form against former Strikeforce title holder Cung Le (9-4), with the British fighter constantly beating the Sanshou specialist to the punch and ultimately putting him away in round four.
Le had only fleeting success with solid body kicks and attempts at landing the same right hook that ended Rich Franklin's night two years prior, but the British native was firmly in control for the majority of the fight. Le's kicks did appear to have an effect on Bisping though, as between rounds three and four the 35 year old took pause with his hands on his knees before returning to his corner. The 42 year old Le, however, was even worse off. Coming into round four, Le's face made the Hollywood action hero look suitable only for a role in a horror film. The end came shortly afterwards as Bisping continued his death by a thousand cuts approach to the fight, before putting Le down with a right knee to the head. "Listen, I took some time off, had problems, came back, didn't go well. This is what I'm capable of," a fired up Bisping exclaimed "and believe me I'm capable of better." "The first fifteen fights of my career I stopped everybody in the first round. If you think I haven't got knockout power you're a fool." Bisping and Luke Rockhold (12-2) have verbally battled for months, and the Brit made it clear that he wants a date with the American Kickboxing Academy product next. Round one: Le begins the fight with his low kicks. The Taekwondo black belt is known for his deadly assault of kicks, and Bisping seems ready for them, using good footwork early on. Le lands a beautifully timed punch to the torso. Bisping circles away and has a strong poker face, but could tell that one did some damage. The action movie star follows up with a kick to the body, and clearly the Brit has a bulls eye on his torso right now. Bisping has really found his timing in the latter period of the fight, and is using his boxing well when he gets inside, 10-9 Le.
Round two: Le has gone back to the well with his kicking onslaught as the second frame begins, but "The Count" appears to have his striking game scouted here. Bisping has forced a cut on Le, and the TV team in the booth confirms to the commentators that it was a legal blow that forced the cut. Bisping is really pouring it on, backing up the Vietnamese striker and putting together punches in bunches. The doctor stops the fight to take a look, and gives him the green light Christian Louboutin Shoes Sale to continue. The fiery Brit is looking to make a statement right now. Le is on his back foot, and playing defense right now as he tries to get his witts together again. Bisping is in the drivers seat, landing punches and kicks to cap off a round that he dominated for a 64-10 significant strikes edge, 10-8 Bisping. Round three: Le shows that he isn't out of this fight - finding a hole in the defense of Bisping early to tag him on the button, and following up with a spinning-back-kick. Bisping, who is typecast as a one-dimensional boxer on the feet, has really mixed things up, using a lot more kicks in this fight, which is making his boxing game even more lethal. The Brit is great at breaking an opponent down with his volume striking, and that's exactly what he is doing right now. The consistent attack isn't filled with knockout blows, but the accumulative damage is definitely taking it's toll. In the dying seconds of the round, Le drills Bisping with a right-hook that staggers "The Count". It doesn't do much to win him the entire round, but it's a friendly reminder that Le does have knockout power, 10-9 Bisping. Round four: We enter the championship rounds, and it appears that Bisping is the fresher fighter. Bisping corners Le, and lands punches in bunches, before drilling a knee that sends Le crashing to the canvas. Several grounded blows follow, and that's all she wrote. Impressive knockout win for Bisping. Rating: 4 stars Michael Bisping def. Cung Le by TKO (punches) at 0:57 of round 4
