It鈥檒l have a lot to do with the effectiveness of Yusmeiro Petit, who starts tonight. When Brett Bochy appears in a game, the Bochys will be the ninth father-son/manager-player tandem in big-league history. 聽
Michael Morse (left oblique strain) will miss another three to five days and is a 鈥渕aybe鈥?for the weekend Dodger series, Bochy said. Morse already missed the past seven games.
Brandon Belt (concussion symptoms) took 25 grounders and 50 swings in a cage (off a tee and soft toss) and hopes to get clearance to accelerate his baseball activity when meeting with Dr. Micky Collins in Pittsburgh on Thursday. His goal is to rejoin the Giants in a couple of weeks. 鈥淪o I鈥檓 ready in time for the playoffs,鈥?Belt said. 鈥淒uring that time, I really don鈥檛 think I鈥檇 be a detriment to the team. I think I can go out there and do pretty well. I don鈥檛 know how realistic it is, but that鈥檚 what I鈥檓 hoping for.鈥?
