Coming off a game where the Huskies won despite yielding seven touchdowns through the air to Eastern Washington, they'll face another pass-heavy team in Illinois on Saturday, and they'll reportedly do it without their top defensive back. The Seattle Times' that the Huskies have suspended star junior cornerback Marcus Peters for the game against the Illini, stemming from a sideline tantrum ge threw after being benched for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty against Eastern Washington. "The detail it needs to be successful at this level is obviously not there yet," he said of the defensive backs. "We've just got to make plays on the ball. We were around the ball a lot. Vernon Adams threw some pinpoint strikes and those kids are reaching out and making those catches. We just have to go out and play tighter coverage. That's the thing that jumps out to me." "Probably one of the best things I thought about him was after the game, I don't think he felt like he played great, which I thought was kind of accurate," Petersen said. "I thought he played well, but I don't think he played great. So I think that's good when he's seeing things in a realistic viewpoint, kind of how we see it as well.
