The Kano State Government has directed all public and private schools in the state to reopen today.

The directive was contained in a statement signed by the Deputy Director, Public Relations Department, state Ministry of Education, Hajiya Hadiza Habib, in Kano yesterday.
A copy of the statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) read in part that: All schools in the state, both public and private, have been directed to reopen on October 12 and 13 for boarding and day students, respectively.
This will mark the beginning of 2014/2015 academic session, the statement said.
The statement, however, directed only SS-3 students of GGSS Unguwa Uku and GGSS Danzabuwa to resume, while the rest of the students in these schools should await for further directive.
The statement explained that the state government had taken all necessary measures for the resumption of the schools.
It then urged parents, teachers and students to cooperate and complement government s effort towards proving quality education to its citizenry.
