The two teams used to be in the same division. The Cardinals have played the Redskins more than any other team in the NFL except the . Arizona is 44-75-2 all-time against Washington. At home, the Cardinals are 26-30-2. That means they have been terrible in Washington (18-45).

Arizona hasn't beaten Washington since the year 2000, a 16-15 win at home that many feel was the tipping point for Arizona voters approving the ballot measure for University of Phoenix Stadium.

They last played in 2011, when the Redskins came away with a 22-21 win. Arizona had a chance to win the game on a final drive, but Chansii Stuckey fumbled the ball away and never had a chance to rally the team.

Connections:

Washington head coach Jay Gruden interviewed with the Cardinals after the 20012 season for the job Bruce Arians eventually got.

They gain almost 105 yards per game on the ground (21st in the league) and almost 289 yards per game passing the ball (fifth in the league).

Defensively, Arizona is 24th in yardage, allowing over 302 yards per game (31st) and less than 77 on the ground (fifth). Washington's defense is 10th in the league in yardage, giving up 340 yards per game. They are allowing over 114 yards per game, but under 226 yards in the air.

Arizona is +4 in turnovers and Washington is -5.

Arizona has yet to allow a team to rush for 100 yards in a game this season. In 20 games with defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, they have held opponents under 100 yards rushing 14 times. Only one running back has gained 100 yards against the Cardinals in the last 20 games -- , who gained 101 yards on 25 carries in Week 6 of 2013.
