BILOXI -- Police say a Biloxi man is accused of murder after shooting a 26-year-old man multiple times at a residence in the 200 block of Dorries Street. Biloxi Police responded to the incident Saturday, at 2:16 p.m., said Lt. Christopher De Back. Witnesses told police that Anthony Wheaton of Biloxi and Rodise Jenkins III, 45, got into a disagreement, which resulted in the shooting. Wheaton and Jenkins were acquaintances, De Back said. De Back said Wheaton sustained several gunshot wounds. He was transported to Biloxi Regional Hospital, and Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove pronounced him dead at 2:58 p.m. Hargrove said the victim died from a gunshot wound to the chest. De Back said Jenkins, a Biloxi resident, fled the scene, but witnesses provided travel directions, so Jenkins was arrested at a traffic stop on Bayview Avenue minutes after the incident. Jenkins was arrested on a murder charge and was transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.

Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain set his bond at $1 million.
