@@@ Johnny Miller, the NBC analyst who moonlights as part owner of the Napa resort, is already eyeing the encore. Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy are expected to play in next year鈥檚 tournament, which changes pretty much everything.

鈥淚t鈥檒l almost be like a different tournament,鈥?Miller said during Sunday鈥檚 final round, sitting in a golf cart alongside the 18th fairway. 鈥淭he crowds will get a lot bigger with Rory and Tiger next year.鈥?

Silverado owner Johnny Miller already is looking forward to next year鈥檚 Frys.com Open.

Woods and McIlroy are part of the 鈥淭urkey Eight,鈥?players who skipped the Frys in 2012 for a cash-grab exhibition event in Turkey. PGA Tour officials granted those eight players a release, on the condition they play in the Frys once by 2015.

Matt Kuchar, Hunter Mahan and Lee Westwood showed up this year. Woods, McIlroy, Justin Rose, Webb Simpson and Charl Schwartzel are obligated to make an appearance next year.

鈥淵eah, it changes the vibe,鈥?Miller said of Woods and McIlroy joining the field. 鈥淲e鈥檒l actually be able to advertise it, too.鈥? Miller described himself as 鈥?9 percent鈥?certain the Frys will return to Silverado in 2015. This year鈥檚 tournament marked the first PGA Tour event at the resort since 1980.

Silverado鈥檚 North Course, which Miller redesigned in 2011, held up well against today鈥檚 long-hitting tour pros. Sang-Moon Bae鈥檚 winning score of 15-under-par on Sunday is typical for most PGA Tour events.

The course measures only 7,203 yards, but challenging greens and thick rough prevented crazy-low numbers.

鈥淭he players haven鈥檛 complained about anything tricky or unfair,鈥?Miller said. 鈥淭hey knew it was a short course by their standards, but there are enough tough hole locations. 鈥?It鈥檚 not like they鈥檙e shooting 62 every round.鈥?p>Related Articles:</p>
