So when Maureen Keefe set out to attend Salesforce鈥檚 gargantuan Dreamforce conference at Moscone Center on Monday, she decided to bike there from her Mill Valley home.

鈥淚t seemed like the right thing to do, to take one more car off the road,鈥?said Keefe, director of marketing for the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, which just signed up for a new customer-relations management system from Salesforce. 鈥淚 looked at The Chronicle this morning and saw the projected attendance, plus I know about all the construction, so I didn鈥檛 want to add to the traffic.鈥? In a Salesforce posting called 鈥?鈥?a company representative answered a question about bike parking by writing 鈥淭here鈥檚 no actual bike valet this year, but we will have bike racks on Howard Street in front of Moscone South. 鈥? In an e-mail, Salesforce spokesman Daylan Burlison wrote: 鈥淭his year, we are asking guests to park their bikes at the surrounding garages where they鈥檒l have greater flexibility to come and go as they like.鈥?

However, not one of the 15 people Keefe spoke with informed her of this policy, she said.
