THE family of former Bayelsa State governor, Chief Diepreye Alamieyesegha, has been thrown into mourning sequel to the untimely death of his son, Oyams Alamieyeseigha, in far away Dubai.

It was gathered that he died in controversial circumstances on Sunday afternoon where he was undergoing studies in an unnamed university.

The cause of his death still remains a mystery.

A source said the body of the deceased, the fourth of five children of the Alamieyeseighas, was found laying face down on the road side.

According to the source, Oyams might have been strangled to death and his body dumped on the road side.

But another source revealed that his body was found in the pool of his blood on the staircase in the family house in Dubai.

The source said it was being suspected that Oyams might have committed suicide.

A family source confirmed the demise of Oyams on Monday.

The source, who did not want to be named, said the family had yet to ascertain how he died.

She, however, added that Alamieyeseigha had since departed Nigeria for Dubai 鈥渢o personally see things for himself about the painful loss of his son.鈥? Meanwhile President Goodluck Jonathan has expressed sadness over the news.

In a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati, in Abuja, he extended heartfelt condolences to Chief Alamieyeseigha and his family over the incident.
