@@@ (Photo : Twitter) Wasco Clown "I just seen him about three times already, but yeah he's creepy," Anthony Garza told KFOR.

Some residents may have been spooked by the creepy clown, but others think it's nothing more than a silly prank and often go in search of it.

"They have flashlights and try to spot him in neighborhoods after he posts to Twitter," Noah Sanchez told the station. "It's kind of fun, though, to get us in the Halloween spirit."

According to KFOR, some locals think it may be more than one clown roaming the streets. Tech Times reported that Wasco Clown is nothing more than a photography project arranged by a husband and wife. It's also supposedly inspired by a similar prank that spooked residents in the U.K. last year.

While the Wasco Clown seems harmless, local police has confirmed that it's led other people - mostly teens - to do a copycat version. Lt. Jason Matson of Bakersfield told that residents reported seeing a clown "carrying a gun to a guy carrying a knife running up to houses."

Bakersfield police recently arrested a 14-year-old boy for "harassing minors" while dressed in a clown costume. The boy, who has no connection to the Wasco Clown, told officers that he was inspired by social media.

During an anonymous interview with , Wasco Clown said it does not condone violence.
