IOWA CITY Bre Cera reopened her recruiting process last summer. She visited the University of Iowa in August, then again this weekend. The latest visit was capped by a commitment. A 5-foot-10 junior guard from Mukwonago (Wis.), Cera told the Iowa staff Sunday that she would play for the Hawkeyes, beginning with the 2016-17 season.

I was on campus this weekend. I saw them practice and went to a football game. I loved the atmosphere. All the pieces just fell together.

Cera averaged 13.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game as a sophomore, helping Mukwonago to the Wisconsin Division 1 state semifinals. She committed to Green Bay as a freshman, but decided to reopen her recruitment because I heard there was some interest from other schools.

I was kind of curious to see what else was out there.

Cera reportedly had offers from Illinois, Michigan State, Minnesota, Marquette, DePaul, Wisconsin, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Iowa State, in addition to Iowa and Green Bay.
