There was a time when Terrigal and the Central Coast region of New South Wales was a sleepy country place of the state that merely came to life briefly in the summer holiday season. Then the F3 Freeway from Sydney was completed in 1987. Since then, Terrigal and the rest of the Central Coast has become a favorite holiday for Sydneysiders all yr 'round.

While Terrigal has never been a populous suburb, it has ever been thought of as the Central Coast's most upscale neighborhood. This standing was cemented further when the Peppers Resort (now Crowne Plaza) was erected. The establishment of this big, upscale resort changed the surface of the village, leading to the establishment of many fashionable boutiques, gourmet restaurants as well as other businesses. But, they never forced the older establishments out of town and you can nonetheless love fish and chips from a pavement cafe or buy your surfing gear from a surf shop that's been proven for 20 years or more.

Terrigal - The fact that Terrigal, while certainly an upscale community, keeps many of its older, more modest establishments is one of its charms. This is a place in which you can feel comfortable in some of boardshorts, a tee top and flipflop sandals, even while you are enjoying a gourmet brunch outside an alfresco cafe. While you sip a cappuccino, just across the street, surfers will undoubtedly be checking out the waves out at the Haven, households will soon be frolicking in the waves in front of the Terrigal Surf Life Saving Club under the careful eye of the lifeguards and "Mums and Dads" will likely be waiting for a large portion of fish and chips wrapped in paper to take down to the beach for lunch.

One other wonderful point about Terrigal is the fact that, unlike so many urban beaches, you really do not also need to be in your vehicle and drive in order to find a quiet stretch of shore to unwind. Simply walk up the shore towards Wamberal and before you are aware of it, you come in a different world; the world the residents enjoy. There seems to be considered a magical dividing point between Terrigal and its mostly residential neighbour: cross that line and you will really feel the difference.

Its several comforts and central location makes Terrigal a perfect place to make your residence while you're touring in the Central Coast. From there, it is possible to reach the other Central Coast communities, each which has its own distinctive feeling. Like Terrigal, Avoca has become busier over the years, but, additionally like Terrigal, it has a sanctuary of tranquility within easy walking distance at North Avoca.

Touring in the other direction, you reached the Entry. The Entrance, a bigger community, is primarily a family group destination and has a clearly different atmosphere.

Staying at an upmarket spa like Crowne Plaza isn't a requirement, although Terrigal has an upmarket reputation. In the same way you could select from a fish and nick feed for the entire family or a romantic romantic dinner for two, you get your pick of Terrigal accommodations.
