On October 23, 2013 Panama’s public work department (Ministerio de Obras Publicas de Panama) granted Conalvias Construction Corporation a contract for a project valued at roughly 185 million dollars.

The new contract culminates the research, design, construction, funding and maintenance of the recovery along with expansion work on the panamerican road. The project calls for an extension of 39.79 km all through San Juan - La Pita within a 3 year execution period from December 2013 to December 2016. “It’s a real success for Conalvias to continue participating in an awesome infrastructure works in Panama that enhances the mobility of a very important artery of such magnitude as the panamerican road; it also offers to the community and the country commercial advantages by reduction of the cost of commercial traveling among regions,” said Andres Jaramillo Lopez, Conalvias CEO.

In addition, the Panamá Canal Authority (Autoridad del Canal de Panamá) granted Conalvias Construction with a $16 million agreement for erosion control in the Mamei curve in Gatun Lake, located in the Panamá province. The erosion project includes the construction of an intransitive coated with a protective rockfill.
