COOP: A PURE COPPER TOOL
The Coop can be a personal bottle opener and a key organizer that feels on the palm of the hand, it is small, comfortable, and greatest of feels great! Additionally there is an edge over The Coop that can be used like a screw driver. The Coop is a copper tool designed and manufactured entirely in america.
WHY COPPER?
Copper is probably the oldest metals of all time, discovered 10,000 years ago and used as a rare metal by ancient civilizations. The invention of copper introduced the Chalcolithic Age or Copper Age, where civilizations transitioned from using stone to metals to make tools. Initially employed for coinage and ornament by the earliest civilizations, throughout time copper has been used extensively due to the versatility and various properties in the fields of architecture, technology, industrial design, etc. Copper has a unique interaction having its environment. Copper develops a patina that is a tarnish that forms on the surface with the material as time passes. Patinas offer an extra protective layer to copper plus a unique aesthetic. The interaction of the user as well as the different environments will create a unique patina that may reflect the journey of the unique conditions.
KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN
Real FX Digital will likely be launching the Coop on Monday, June 24th on Kickstarter. We are offering 100 Coops on the early bird at $39, the standard price will be $49. The campaign will run until Monday, July 29th. Up to now we now have designed and produced prototypes of the Coop and then we want to go on it into production. When the project is successfully funded, we would be able to make the metal injection molds required for manufacturing.
