H pylori can cause severe and debilitating symptoms, or very slight symptoms, depending on the person who has got the bacteria and any risk of strain of bacteria concerned. Not everyone is affected similarly. Common symptoms include general malaise, fatigue, mood problems in addition to generally acknowledged digestive symptoms like heartburn, reflux (GERD), bloating, nausea, vomiting and bad breath.

H pylori infection - Doctors frequently recommend antacid medicines or laxatives for these symptoms; often they'll have the experience to run screening for H pylori and other intestinal attacks. Multiple therapy antibiotics are typically prescribed to kill the H pylori if H pylori is available. This form of therapy has been proven to be only 50-70 percent successful, however.

Even if H pylori has been confirmed as having been removed, a patient's symptoms usually remain. This confuses physician and patient alike. Diet is rarely considered in these conditions, but in actual fact, common foods that are used on a daily basis by many people may cause just the same symptoms as the Helicobacter itself.

Food 1 - Gluten

Gluten (more precisely, gliadin) is really a protein molecule that is found in the wheat, barley, rye and spelt. All foods that contain these grains have gluten inside them (e.g. bread, pasta, desserts, biscuits, cereals, pizza). Many people are gluten-intolerant and in my own experience gluten could be the number 1 problem food. Gluten causes irritation in the little intestine, just like H pylori. Oftentimes, merely reducing the gluten can dramatically reduce symptoms. Sometimes people can not eradicate H pylori until they've been on a gluten-free diet for at the least 60-days.

Food no 2 - Coffee

Coffee is loved by me, but unfortunately in virtually any form coffee can be an nuisance to the gastrointestinal system. Lots of people report having heartburn, reflux and other digestive symptoms if they drink coffee. It is better to reduce coffee consumption if H pylori bacteria exist.

Food 3 - Soy

Soy foods have recently been recognized to be healthy and, in some instances, magic foods. However this information is far from the facts. In reality, soy isn't a healthier food for most people. Even in Japan it is the main sensitivity creating food. It may have a primary effect on the digestive tract and cause similar signs to H pylori (it causes me to have wind, bloating and loose stools). Once they eliminate soy in most forms many people experience significant improvements. Several other foods, including cow's milk and vegetable oils, also needs to be avoided if H pylori is identified. A complete listing of the right diet as well as these ingredients and natural process for H pylori sufferers comes in the H Pylori Diet e-book and book.
