H pylori could cause serious and debilitating symptoms, or very mild symptoms, depending on the one who has the bacteria and any risk of strain of bacteria involved. Not everybody is affected similarly. Common symptoms include general malaise, fatigue, feeling problems along with generally recognized digestive symptoms like heartburn, reflux (GERD), bloating, nausea, vomiting and bad air.

H pylori test - Medical practioners usually prescribe antacid drugs or laxatives for these symptoms; often they will have the foresight to perform testing for H pylori and other digestive infections. Triple therapy antibiotics are generally prescribed to destroy the H pylori if H pylori is found. This type of therapy has demonstrated an ability to be only 50-70 percent effective, nevertheless.

Even if H pylori has been verified as having been eliminated, a patient's symptoms often remain. This confuses patient and doctor alike. Diet is rarely considered in these situations, in actual fact, common ingredients that are taken on a regular basis by many individuals may cause just the same signs since the Helicobacter itself.

Food 1 - Gluten

Gluten (more accurately, gliadin) is just a protein molecule that is present in the rye, barley, wheat and spelt. All foods which contain these grains have gluten inside them (e.g. bread, pasta, desserts, cookies, cereals, pizza). Lots of people are gluten-intolerant and within my experience gluten may be the number 1 problem food. Gluten causes inflammation in the tiny intestine, similar to H pylori. In many cases, only reducing the gluten can dramatically reduce symptoms. Often people can't eliminate H pylori until they've been on a gluten-free diet for at the least 60-days.

Food 2 - Coffee

Coffee is loved by me, but unfortunately in just about any form coffee is an irritant to the digestive tract. Many individuals report having heartburn, reflux and other digestive symptoms when they drink coffee. It is better to reduce coffee use if H pylori bacteria can be found.

Food 3 - Soy

Soy foods have in recent times been suggested to be healthier and, in some instances, magic foods. But this information is far from the reality. Actually, soy isn't a wholesome food for most people. Even yet in Japan it's the main sensitivity creating food. It may have an immediate affect the digestive tract and cause similar signs to H pylori (it causes me to have wind, bloating and loose stools). Lots of people experience significant improvements once they eliminate soy in every forms. Various other foods, including cow's milk and vegetable oils, should also be prevented if H pylori is recognized. A whole set of these ingredients along with the correct diet and natural project for H pylori sufferers will come in the H Pylori Diet e-book and publication.
