WHY COPPER?
Copper is one of the oldest metals of all time, discovered 10,000 years back and used being a platinum by ancient civilizations. The discovery of copper introduced the Chalcolithic Age or Copper Age, where civilizations transitioned while using stone to metals to produce tools. Initially used for coinage and ornament from the earliest civilizations, throughout time copper was used extensively due to the versatility and various properties in the fields of architecture, technology, industrial design, etc. Copper includes a unique interaction with its environment. Copper develops a patina which is a tarnish that forms on the surface with the material with time. Patinas provide an extra protective layer to copper and a unique aesthetic. The interaction from the user and the different environments can provide a unique patina that will reflect your way of the unique conditions.
KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN
Real FX Digital will probably be launching the Coop on Monday, June 24th on Kickstarter. We'll be offering 100 Coops on the early bird at $39, the standard price will be $49. The campaign will run until Monday, July 29th. So far we've designed and produced prototypes of the Coop so we would like to take it into production. When the project is successfully funded, we'd be able to make the metal injection molds required for manufacturing.
