WHY COPPER?
Copper is among the oldest metals of all time, discovered 10,000 in years past and used being a rare metal by ancient civilizations. The invention of copper introduced the Chalcolithic Age or Copper Age, by which civilizations transitioned while using stone to metals to create tools. Initially useful for coinage and ornament from the earliest civilizations, throughout time copper has been used extensively because of its versatility and other properties in the fields of architecture, technology, industrial design, etc. Copper features a unique interaction with its environment. Copper develops a patina which is a tarnish that forms on the surface with the material as time passes. Patinas provide an extra protective layer to copper along with a unique aesthetic. The interaction from the user and the different environments will create a unique patina which will reflect the journey of these unique conditions.
KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN
Real FX Digital will probably be launching the Coop on Monday, June 24th on Kickstarter. We will be offering 100 Coops on the early bird at $39, the normal price is going to be $49. The campaign will run until Monday, July 29th. Up to now we now have designed and produced prototypes of the Coop so we wish to go on it into production. After the project is successfully funded, we might cover the cost of the metal injection molds needed for manufacturing.
