If your child is a sophomore or junior, you are probably just beginning to understand everything that is necessary for college applications. Of course, tests are a very big part of the process and a lot of students need some sort of SAT or ACT prep these days. Finding out what they require is the first step in preparing for the SAT. The second step is to take a mock SAT or ACT Test. An SAT training exam, like the ones provided this month at Lindero Learning Center in Oak Park, will help students discover how much, if any, ACT/SAT test preparation is needed.

Adapting the test taking for a student's timetable can be just as important as what test prep is provided. Juniors commonly take the PSAT in Oct. The results come back 2 months later, leaving 3-4 months before the actual exam. Your pupil's daily schedule could get in the way with this schedule and result in an overload in work.

SAT preparation is quite time-consuming. Besides spending time at the modules or tutoring meetings, young people must do a significant amount of homework to receive the most from any system. Accordingly, participants ought to organize their test study program they've got enough time available to put into it. For instance, when a student engages in a seasonal sport, that season is NOT a suitable time to complete prep. If the son or daughter carries a large hefty academic load throughout the school year, study during the summertime can make more sense.

Academically, most young people have learned all the important ideas by the end of their sophomore year. If all things are equal, I do recommend going with the traditional time frame. After all, throughout the junior year, school students are still improving important language and writing skills, although most have already learned the mathematics. But to my mind, the significance of scheduling the program when the student has the time to get the full benefit from it outweighs other criteria.
