Essentials of Back Packing

Back packing can be a very enjoyable and adventurous experience. This one of the very many ways you can explore and enjoy the natural outdoor. It even becomes more fun if you choose the correct outdoor back packing gear. You need to be very careful when choosing what you need to carry with you. You do not need to carry everything but only the items that you require.

There are a must carry items to make your experience memorable and one of these are the clothing that you choose, the correct shoes, sunglasses, trekking poles and the correct back pack. Coming up with a detailed check list enable you to get what is essential and leaving the unnecessary luggage. Depending on the weather and terrain, you might be required to do a background check on your destination.

Safety should come in fast and this should be included in the equipment that you plan to take with you. You need a good and comfortable sleeping bag, a tent which can accommodate you and your luggage. Whatever you choose to take with you should be very light and can fit in your back pack. Single back packing bags are recommended because you do not need to carry many pieces of luggage.

When back packing, you need to plan for everything and a flashlight should not be forgotten. This comes in handy at night. This enables you to avoid falling and the resulting injuries. On the other hand, if you are camping in the bush, you need to make sure that your tent is not invaded by insects at night. These can spoil your otherwise enjoyable backpacking experience.

With the many tents available in the market, you need to do some research on your destinations weather and get the right tent and sleeping bag. The tent size is also important because it will accommodate you and your luggage as well. There are specific tents for the cold of hot weather. On the other hand, a basic first aid kit is very critical in areas where you might get scratches, insect bites and bruises.

If it is the first time you are back packing to a particular location, a simple map and a compass come in handy. On the other hand, you need to carry sufficient amount of dry food if you are not planning to cook or a stove and basic utensils if you have to cook in the outdoors. Last and not least, purified drinking water is of equal importance since you do not want to get dehydrated out in the wild.
