WHY COPPER?
Copper is among the oldest metals in history, discovered 10,000 in years past and used like a platinum by ancient civilizations. The discovery of copper introduced the Chalcolithic Age or Copper Age, by which civilizations transitioned from using stone to metals to create tools. Initially employed for coinage and ornament from the earliest civilizations, throughout time copper has been utilized extensively due to the versatility and other properties inside the fields of architecture, technology, industrial design, etc. Copper features a unique interaction using its environment. Copper develops a patina the industry tarnish that forms at first glance from the material over time. Patinas offer an extra protective layer to copper and a unique aesthetic. The interaction with the user and also the different environments can create a unique patina which will reflect the journey of those unique conditions.
KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN
Real FX Digital is going to be launching the Coop on Monday, June 24th on Kickstarter. We'll be offering 100 Coops on the early bird at $39, the standard price is going to be $49. The campaign will run until Monday, July 29th. To date we have designed and produced prototypes of the Coop and now we wish to go into production. When the project is successfully funded, we would cover the cost of the metal injection molds required for manufacturing.
