In a short time a spate involving game companies sprang upward trying to develop software for the infant electronic game marketplace. The result was a glut associated with poorly conceived games striking the market. Consumers turned aside in droves and the house electronic game industry lighting hit the skids.

By the early 1980s electronic online games were being developed for computers. Color graphics flexible memory space and general purpose processor chips made games much easier to use personal computers. The game console business was all but dead.

In the late 1980s two Japanese organizations introduced a new generation involving game consoles that were highly capable of handling the new electronic video games being produced. These companies have been Nintendo and Sega. These types of game consoles had visuals capabilities that exceeded those of most personal computers. Nintendo also offered a feature that let the console record the hon steps so a player could stop the action of a video game.
