New Hope for Treating Lichen Sclerosus: Stem Cell Therapy

Lichen sclerosus - Revolutionary advancements in stem cell therapy are transforming the practice of medicine and providing a range of new, secure and efficient treatments for a lot of disease conditions, including Lichen Sclerosus. This new field of medicine is being termed Regenerative Medicine; as it utilizes the natural regenerative and reparative powers of stem cells to focus on damaged tissues and restore these to health. During the last decade, I have innovated The Stem Cell Lift®, a process that harnesses the strength of your own body’s stem cells to be used in reconstructive and cosmetic purposes. Today, we have seen remarkable results with the Stem Cell Lift® technique of reconstruction of post-cancer scarred defects, for painful or damaged joints, ligaments and muscles, for wound healing and then for Lichen Sclerosus.

What exactly is Lichen Sclerosus?

Lichen Sclerosus can be a chronic inflammatory disorder of your skin usually concerning the genital and anal areas. The illness is at their most effective in females, especially post-menopausal women, accompanied by men, and barely children. Along with unbearable itching such as a chronic candida albicans, the disease might cause scarring of the vaginal tissues and consequently, narrows the vagina, which results in painful intercourse. A lot of women lose their desire for intercourse for anxiety about the anguish. Less commonly, extra-genital Lichen Sclerosus appears on the chest muscles, breasts, and arms. Lichens Sclerosus just isn't contagious.

Many doctors are not familiar with Lichen Sclerosus and are not in a position to diagnose the disease correctly. Many people are instructed to see numerous doctors before an accurate diagnosis is created. Lichen Sclerosus, much like a great many other chronic skin diseases, has already established limited effective procedures. In most cases, doctors prescribe a strong corticosticosteroid ointment or cream, to provide temporary relief of the itching and discomfort.

The Stem Cell Lift® Procedure

The Stem Cell Lift® is really a noninvasive procedure performed under local anesthesia. To alleviate anxiety and then for patient comfort, oral sedative and/or intramuscular injections are often administered. The procedure is done in three stages. First, the region from where you want body fat being taken from is marked and tumescent local anesthesia is slowly injected employing a blunt instrument. After having a short wait to allow for the anesthetic medication to be effective, fat deposits is slowly removed under local anesthesia utilizing a mini-liposuction method through specially designed instruments. Second, the obtained fat is processed to concentrate the stem cells and enhance their ratio for the fat cells being ready for injection. Third, local anesthesia is administered and the super-charged adult stem cells from your own body's fat with some fat cells are injected. A bandage is placed about the area where the fat was taken. The entire procedure is done all within the same day in approximately 4 hours. Patients are capable of walk and resume normal activities almost immediately after the Stem Cell Lift® procedure.
