H pylori can cause serious and debilitating symptoms, or very mild symptoms, with respect to the one who gets the bacteria and the stress of bacteria concerned. Not everyone is affected equally. Typical symptoms include fatigue, mood issues, general malaise in addition to commonly acknowledged intestinal symptoms like heartburn, reflux (GERD), bloating, sickness, vomiting and bad air.

H pylori treatment - Doctors usually prescribe antacid drugs or laxatives for these symptoms; often they will have the experience to run screening for H pylori and other intestinal infections. Multiple therapy antibiotics are usually prescribed to destroy the H pylori if H pylori is available. This type of treatment has been proven to be only 50-70 percent effective, nevertheless.

Even if H pylori has been confirmed as having been eradicated, a patient's symptoms often remain. That confuses medical practitioner and patient alike. Diet is rarely considered in these conditions, but in actual fact, common ingredients that are eaten on a daily basis by many individuals could cause exactly the same symptoms since the Helicobacter itself.

Food number 1 - Gluten

Gluten (more accurately, gliadin) is just a protein molecule that's present in the wheat, barley, rye and spelt. All foods which contain these grains have gluten in them (e.g. bread, rice, desserts, cookies, cereals, pizza). Many individuals are gluten-intolerant and in my experience gluten may be the number one problem food. Gluten causes infection in the tiny intestine, much like H pylori. In many cases, only eliminating the gluten can dramatically reduce symptoms. Sometimes people can't eliminate H pylori until they've been on a gluten-free diet for at the least 60-days.

Food 2 - Coffee

Coffee is loved by me, but unfortunately in any form coffee is an nuisance to the digestive system. Lots of people report having heartburn, reflux and other digestive symptoms once they drink coffee. It is best to reduce coffee consumption if H pylori bacteria are present.

Food number 3 - Soy

Soy foods have recently been recognized as being healthier and, in some instances, magic foods. But these records is far from the truth. In reality, soy isn't a healthy food for most people. Even in Japan it's the top allergy creating food. It could have a primary impact on the digestive system and cause similar symptoms to H pylori (it causes me to have wind, bloating and loose stools). Once they remove soy in all types significant improvements are experienced by many people. Various other foods, including cow's milk and vegetable oils, also needs to be avoided if H pylori is diagnosed. A whole listing of the appropriate diet in addition to these foods and natural process for H pylori victims is available in the H Pylori Diet ebook and publication.
